00:00On any other day, the big news would be that Justin Bieber has an album coming out, which we will get to, and that is big news.
00:07Financially speaking, in the immediate time right now, the bigger news is that he and Scooter Braun, his former manager, have settled their financial dispute.
00:17And we laid out the details of this financial dispute, which involved a lot of money in our recent documentary, What Happened to Justin Bieber.
00:26We should say that money...
00:30...drove a huge wedge between Justin and Scooter.
00:35Scooter was his surrogate father.
00:38Justin grew up with Scooter since he was 13.
00:41They were just like this.
00:44And it all blew apart.
00:46And it blew apart over money.
00:48And we kind of broke all of this down.
00:51But the bottom line, what we found, and this, we know, triggered settlement talks.
00:57What we found was Justin believed Scooter owed him tens of millions of dollars that he overpaid in commission.
01:05They actually did an audit, and they found it was the opposite, that Justin owed Scooter $8 million.
01:13And we said at the time, Scooter waived that money, didn't want it, said, I don't even want it.
01:20But there were two other things.
01:23That Scooter fronted the payback of a loan that Justin got from AEG.
01:30When he canceled the tour.
01:31When he canceled the tour.
01:32And Scooter paid $26 million to AEG that Justin owed him.
01:37Scooter also said he was owed $11 million for various other back commissions that Justin hadn't paid.
01:45Yeah, and we're told, you guys, that for the past three years, it was nasty between Justin and Scooter, basically arguing about all this money.
01:54But then we did a TMZ documentary, TMZ Investigates What Happened to Justin Bieber.
02:00And we're told that that really changed the conversations that they were having with their attorneys.
02:05And they started talking settlement.
02:07And we knew about a month ago that they were very close to a settlement.
02:11And now we're being told they did settle, Justin agreed to pay the $26 million, plus half of the $11 million that Justin owed Scooter for various things.
02:22But another thing that really helped Justin to pay back all this money, remember, we had broke it down in our documentary that Justin was struggling financially.
02:31He blew through a ton of his fortune.
02:34But Hailey Bieber did sell her beauty line.
02:37She got about like a billion dollars.
02:40Well, she didn't get it.
02:42Her company was sold for a billion.
02:43She didn't get that much.
02:44She got a chunk of it.
02:45But also, he sold his catalog for $200 million.
02:48So he finally had the money to pay back.
02:51But they were squabbling back and forth.
02:53And what we're told is there were people in Justin's ear telling him things that may not have been true about who owed who what.
03:02But now that's been settled.
03:04The question is, over time, will the relationship be repaired?
03:10And I don't think there's a clear answer to that yet.
03:13Not anytime soon.
03:14Not anytime soon.
03:15But who knows down the road?
03:16By the way, as we mentioned, Justin, his latest album comes out at midnight tonight.
03:22It is called Swag.
03:24Is that what it's called?
03:25It's called Swag.
03:26Swag.
03:26He's released a bunch of the song titles, too.
03:29There's a song called Swag.
03:30There's Zuma House.
03:31Too Long.
03:32Forgiveness is the very last track on the album.
03:36There's other ones.
03:37Devotion.
03:37Glory.
03:38Voice.
03:38Memo.
03:39So, yeah, it'll be interesting.
03:40It's his big comeback album.
03:42My name is Colin from Atlanta, Georgia.
03:44And I think this is so wild.
03:46This album is definitely probably him taking his power back.
03:49Him talking about all these things that are going on with Scooter.
03:51Probably trying to recoup some of that money.
03:53It would be actually legendary if he did a tour after that.
03:56But, yeah, I think that this is just kind of wild, this whole story, everything that's gone down.
04:01And I wonder if we're going to get some more insight with this album.
04:04I'm not sure we're going to get insight into that relationship.
04:06Maybe we will.
04:07But I got to say, when you really look at it as the dust settles, Scooter won.
04:12But I would also say that Scooter just got what he was owed, right?
04:16And Justin paid the money that he owed him.
04:18Right.
04:19I call that a win.
04:20It's a win.
04:21But it's not like Justin is hurting for money now that he's paid it back.
04:25No.
04:25But he's paid back.
04:26So everybody's going to be fine.
04:29Yes.
04:29I think that's fair.
