00:00of all the things i did not expect to hear coach prime deon sanders say yesterday at media day was

00:05the fact that teams are having to spend too much money to get kids i mean isn't that the plan right

00:11now in college football isn't that the plan for the colorado buffaloes well lo and behold coach

00:16prime who likes to do all of his business not recruiting but spending spending the money at

00:21the university of colorado which is fine by the way every team does that uh deon yesterday meeting

00:26with the media talking about how not just the national football league but in the future

00:31college football is going to have to think about incorporating a salary cap the top of the line

00:38player makes this and if you're not that type of guy you know you're not going to make that that's

00:42what the nfl does so the problem is you got a guy that's not that darn good but he could go to another

00:49school and they give him a half a million dollars and you can't you can't compete with that that

00:52don't make sense and you're talking about equality um not equality like equal i guess

00:58equality and all you have to do is look at the playoffs and see what those teams spent

01:02and you understand darn near why they're in the playoffs it's kind of hard to compete with

01:07somebody who's giving 25 30 million dollars to a darn freshman class right it is it's crazy we're

01:15not complaining because all these coaches up here could coach their butts off and give them the right

01:18opportunity with the right players and play here and there you'll be there but it's what's going on

01:24right now don't make sense and we we want to say stuff but we're trying to be professional

01:29but you're going to see the same teams darn near the end and with somebody who sneaks up in there

01:34but the team that pays the more pays the most is going to be there in it

01:38makes sense will they change things in college i mean we just started giving money out are we going

01:44to stop giving money out in the future we'll see all right one of the coaches is it fair to say

01:48that mike gundy's a little bit on the hot seat at oklahoma state this season i mean is that fair

01:53to say there were three and nine they did not win a game in the conference last season it was probably

01:58the worst season of mike gundy's coaching career so needless to say yes a bounce back is needed here

02:04this coming season when we start on july 27th

02:09two things have to go out the window one thinking of transferring or taking other jobs as a coach or a player

02:20two the money aspect has to go to the side because for the most part the coaches and the players all of us

02:31including me are going to be at this location until at least december

02:36the teams that can put that to the side and the coaches that can put that to the side

02:44concentrate on coaching and playing football and find a way to come together in my opinion get the

02:51best chance to win i like his idea i don't know that it is valid anymore in college football meanwhile

02:59it's valid to think that tcu could have a nice season coming up in the big 12 as well as they

03:03get their season started next month and into september here is sunny dykes the head coach of

03:09the horned frogs with high hopes for the upcoming 2025 campaign i think we're at that point in our

03:14program right now where if we're not in the big 12 championship game it's it's uh probably not a

03:20successful season and so that's where we want to be you know we think we're a team that

03:25year in year out should be in the big 12 title hunt um

03:31and you know we think this team is is capable of doing that we'll see how it plays out i mean

03:38there's going to be so many factors that go into that can we stay healthy and do the guys come

03:44through like we think they can and can we play at a high level and can we you know learn to deal

03:49with adversity and success and all the things that you have to go through to have a successful

03:52season but i like this team i really do i like our makeup i like the guys you know we have six

03:59really special young men with us today um you know guys that are mature guys that are unselfish

04:07guys that really care about the team um you know you don't hear that

04:14discussed very often in today's college football world you know some of it's me me me

04:20and we don't we don't have those kind of uh of issues in our program right now i mean
