00:00You tweeted something yesterday about Joe Ryan.
00:03John Marossi had a report that the Red Sox were monitoring Joe Ryan.
00:07If the Twins fall out of it, they're going to need a haul, etc., etc.
00:10You said he was a target when the Twins were asking around about Cassis before the year.
00:16So I'm curious, your understanding of that, were the Red Sox the ones saying no,
00:21Cassis for Joe Ryan as the particulars, or was it the other way around?
00:24Was Cassis not enough?
00:25I think Minnesota, they needed a first baseman.
00:30Obviously, Tristan Cassis, you go back to Seattle, there was some talk there.
00:35So when it came to Minnesota saying, hey, what would it take to get Tristan Cassis?
00:41I think Joe Ryan's name was brought up because the Red Sox, as I point out,
00:44the Red Sox really, really liked Joe Ryan.
00:47And Minnesota said, thanks, but no thanks, because Joe Ryan is really, really good.
00:53He's under control for another two years after this year.
00:56And my point in that tweet was, yeah, there's a lot of buzz about Joe Ryan.
01:02And yes, that's an evidence that the Red Sox really liked Joe Ryan.
01:06I don't think anybody should think that that's a secret, but I think that it takes two to tango.
01:13And I think that right now, to get Joe Ryan, I mean, you're talking about like a crochet-type deal.
01:19And for the Red Sox, is that something they're willing to do?
01:23It's going to cost, what I'm saying, it's going to cost more than people think to get Joe Ryan.
01:27Joe Ryan isn't just going, oh, we're going to go get him.
01:29No, no.
01:30He's got control.
01:32He's a good pitcher.
01:33He just made the all-star team.
01:34But once again, the Red Sox have liked him for a long time.
