00:00Gellewin Price overcame lost luggage, unfamiliar darts and an informed Stephen Bunting to clinch
00:07the Poland Masters and now he has his sights firmly set on Blackpool.
00:13The Welshman defeated Bunting 8-7 in Sunday's final in Gwyllis to land his first World Series
00:19title this year. Remarkably, he did so by using a brand new set of darts after all the ones he
00:25intended to use were misplaced in transit. I'm quite chuffed that I won considering the
00:31circumstances Price set. I lost my case, my darts and had a brand new set. I felt the points were
00:37too long so I was fining them down for two days but I was mentally strong and got through it.
00:44Now the 39-year-old is determined to build on that momentum at the World Match Play,
00:49one of the five television-ranked titles that he has yet to win. Price who lost the 2022 match play
00:56final to Michael van Gerwen has made no secret of his ambition to lift the trophy this time around.
01:02With £800,000 in prize money up for grabs and £200,000 for the winner, he knows there's more
01:09pride on the line. Winning in Poland gives me confidence heading into the match play, he said.
01:14I've come close before and I believe I can go one better.
01:19No, no, I think people deserve to doubt the fact that me and Nathan should have been in.
01:25I was in the best of form, Nathan wasn't either. But I'm just glad that I proved to myself that
01:32I've still got the game in me and when I'm positive and I'm in the right frame of mind that
01:37I can beat anyone and I can still play to the high standards that I know I can.
01:42His average of 103.12 in the final, second only to his early performances, was a statement of form.
01:50Despite missed doubles and trying too hard at times, Price ground out the win.
01:55It's nice to be back lifting trophies, he added.
01:58I got frustrated, but I've got to take the positives. And now it's all about Blackpool.
02:03The world match play begins on July 13th at the Winter Gardens, where Price will be among
02:09the top seeds in a stacked 32-player field.
