Fajardo on track for record 12th Best Player of Conference plum
San Miguel star June Mar Fajardo is on track for a record-extending 12th Best Player of the Conference plum. The reigning eight-time MVP currently leads the PBA Philippine Cup statistical race through the eliminations with 40.4 points, averaging 17.5 points, 13.1 rebounds, and 3.3 assists. With his dominant performance, he has helped steer the Beermen to the No. 1 seed with an 8–3 record. If he clinches it again, it will count as his ninth BPC in the Philippine Cup. Meanwhile, teammate CJ Perez remains close behind, topping the league in scoring with 23.4 points per game and 38.5 statistical points. Looking ahead, San Miguel and Barangay Ginebra will battle for a finals spot on July 10 in a do-or-die Game 7 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, with the winner advancing to face TNT Tropang 5G.
