Our reporter Sophie Mei Lan went paddleboarding at Fall Ings Lock.
Transcript
00:00After everywhere on social media I just had to try paddle boarding. The Canal and River Trust hosted a free session.
00:08Once you're into the middle, then if you're brave enough, stand up.
00:13Never best it to do that.
00:16When you're standing up, you want to be standing close to the handle in the middle.
00:22So kind of feet either side like this. If you're too far back, it'll tip that way.
00:29You don't want to be in the middle.
00:34To start with though, be in this position and just get a feel for it hammered just to get moving.
00:42In this position, just kind of spin and then you should get back up.
00:48If you fall off, the board doesn't go a thousand miles away.
00:53Okay?
00:54Okay.
00:55Okay, let's go.
00:56Okay, let's go.
00:57Good luck.
00:58Good luck.
00:59Good luck.
01:00Good luck.
01:01Jed was an instructor for the day from Leeds Beckett University working with Canal and River Trust.
01:08George was down there as well helping from the Trust.
01:11Honestly, it was so relaxing.
01:13It was also a nice gentle workout too because you do need core stability and it does help build your core.
01:19It helps to relax you, but also you can start by sitting down anyway on the board and then building up to standing.
01:26So far, when you're up to starting from the Table to do the fire, it hurts your energy and the fire.
01:43It's up there and you can do nothing there because you'll take your pressure and put your edges.
