00:00Welcome to Miss Mojo, and today we're looking at some of the most hilarious down-to-earth moments from the House of Windsor.
00:08This is something that is more unusual.
00:12Number 20. Phillip's humour.
00:14Just like his wife, Phillip was incredibly witty.
00:17Many of his remarks were incredibly offensive, but a lot were straight-up hilarious.
00:21The world's most experienced pluck on me.
00:24This ranged from him getting sassy when he wasn't recognised, to roasting French breakfast.
00:30A couple of times, he even got on Elton John's case.
00:33During a performance in 2001, Phillip hoped that John would turn his mic off.
00:39He also ripped into John's car while he was living near Windsor Castle.
00:42And when chatting to Cate Blanchett, he asked her to fix his DVD player, because she worked in the film industry.
00:49Utterly priceless.
00:50Another celebrity he got on the wrong side of was chef Rick Stein, with Phillip flat-out refusing to try his fish.
00:56It's been years since he passed away, but his dry humour will be remembered for centuries.
01:01I'm sorry to keep you standing there.
01:05I cannot stand up much for you.
01:07Number 19. Diana's bottle-breaking.
01:09Diana and Charles' relationship was full of ups and downs, to put it mildly.
01:14And I suppose in love.
01:16Of course.
01:18Whatever in love means.
01:19They married in 1981.
01:21They stayed together until 1996.
01:24Five years into the relationship, things seemed to sour so much, Diana resorted to violence, smashing a bottle over Charles' head.
01:32Just kidding.
01:33So the princess was invited to choose her target.
01:42Despite how it looks, it was just a playful stunt.
01:45It was a sugar bottle, intended for safely smashing glass for movie stunts.
01:49So it was all fun and games.
01:51But observer Thomas Wheatley later said, looking back on it, she probably did it with considerable enthusiasm.
01:57Well, if you can put your own interpretation.
01:59Number 18. Christmas pudding.
02:01Prince William's eldest son, George, is second in line to the throne.
02:04Prince George of Cambridge.
02:06William and Kate's first born and future king.
02:09Despite his importance, he's still a child and has a lot of maturing to do.
02:13Occasionally, his father manages to get him off a fortnight, like in 2019 when George joined his family to bake some pudding.
02:19The little prince decided to use a rather unorthodox stirring technique, which was basically just stabbing the mix.
02:26As soon as the queen saw, she had to step away, being scared of getting caught in the crossfire.
02:31Thankfully, kings aren't required to be talented bakers.
02:35Number 17. Wimbledon reactions.
02:37Look at George, holding the trophy and his mother watching the top so it doesn't fall off.
02:44There you are now.
02:46There's a shot.
02:46It's common knowledge that the royals love a spot of tennis.
02:50Kate Middleton is so fond of Wimbledon, she's been going long before she became a royal.
02:55Good morning again.
02:56This is George.
02:58This is Ian.
02:58Ian's in charge of everything here, George.
03:00Make sure that everything runs.
03:02Runs to plan.
03:03This has resulted in quite a few hilarious reaction shots of the princess.
03:07When George joined her in 2022, he revealed he'd inherited this trait from his mother.
03:13He could have also been reacting to the player's foul language.
03:15It seems to run in the family, with Diana, Elizabeth, Camilla, William, and even Charles having hilarious reactions to sports.
03:23It's possibly more fun to watch the royals watching sports than it is to watch the sports themselves.
03:28It's easy to forget that William and Harry are brothers these days.
03:40Harry, you're an Arsenal fan, if I'm correct.
03:45It's true.
03:46What's that supposed to mean?
03:47After Megsit, the pair fell out completely.
03:50It wasn't always the case when they were younger.
03:52The two shared loads of wholesome moments together.
03:55Baldness, sorry?
03:56When did you find Solo?
03:57It's baldness, no.
03:59It's pretty rich coming from a ginger, so I'm quite happy to get that on despite the game.
04:04When they were children, the pair would wear matching outfits and play polo together.
04:08William also taught his baby brother how to play the piano, then later supported him on his first day of school.
04:14According to them, losing their mother helped create a strong bond between the two.
04:18Hopefully, the pair will become buddies again someday, and we'll get loads more witty banter from them.
04:22We're brothers. We'll always be brothers.
04:25We're certainly on different paths at the moment, but I will always be there for him, and as I know, he'll always be there for me.
04:29Number 15, the Queen's Cake.
04:31In 2022, Britain began celebrating Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee, commemorating 70 years of service.
04:38This is the moment when London, when the UK, when the Commonwealth says thank you to Her Majesty.
04:49This made her the second longest-reigning monarch in history, after France's son-king, Louis XIV.
04:55It was also the first time a British monarch had hit the milestone.
04:59As such, a grand cake was needed for the occasion.
05:02Of course, Her Majesty got the honour of cutting the cake first.
05:05Hilariously, she quipped that the cake was more important than her.
05:08I thought it had to be upside down for the press.
05:11They can say that.
05:12I don't know. I don't matter.
05:14Well, I think I can probably read it upside down, too.
05:19I think you probably can.
05:20After, the Queen makes half an attempt to cut a slice.
05:24For anyone else, that would be a poor attempt, but since she's the Queen, everybody applauds.
05:29Oh, yes, it goes in beautifully.
05:31Beautifully.
05:32Somebody else can finish it off.
05:35Do the rest of it.
05:37Well done.
05:38Number 14. Harry's Beard
05:43Before Megxit, Harry and Meghan would frequently go on royal visits.
05:47These often brought them into contact with children, many of which were enamoured by Harry's facial hair.
05:53It happened more than once, making us wonder if he secretly fills in his beard with candy.
05:58Every one of these interactions are adorable.
06:00Showing Archie and Lilibet must be incredibly lucky children.
06:04I said it to you, man.
06:05It must run in the family, since the Queen always got along great with kids.
06:16Thankfully, no grown-ups have tried snatching his beard.
06:19If Harry's not interested, it could potentially be a very menial form of treason.
06:27Number 13. Weatherman Charles
06:29Charles II was a man who loved to party, earning him the title The Merry Monarch.
06:35Charles III, on the other hand, could become known as the King of Weather.
06:39I'm delighted to say we've got a new member of our weather team tonight.
06:43Let me hand over to him now.
06:44Behind us.
06:47Well, it's an unsettled picture as we head towards the end of the week.
06:50This is because in 2012, he hilariously appeared on BBC Scotland to do a weather forecast.
06:56His delivery was on point, but halfway through, he complained about his lines.
06:59The potential for a few flurries over Balmoral, who the hell wrote this script, as the afternoon goes on?
07:05Maybe His Majesty would have done a lot better if it was all improvised.
07:09Unfortunately, he didn't take up weather forecasting full-time.
07:12If he had done, BBC Scotland's weather segments would be getting tons more views.
07:17Where it could lead to difficult conditions on the roads.
07:20In the west, rain will be lighter and patchier.
07:23There will be maybe a few drier interludes over Dumfrey's house in Ayrshire.
07:27Number 12. Feeding time.
07:30It's commonly known the Queen loved animals.
07:33From a young age, she adored all types of animals.
07:35It seems the love and loyalty between Queen and Corgi remains.
07:40From young princess to longest reigning monarch, her Corgis have been constant companions.
07:45Eventually, she became particularly fond of Corgis, which she had more than 30 of in her life.
07:51At one point, she owned 11 dogs in total, alongside tortoises, ponies, a sloth, two jaguars, and even an elephant.
08:00Once, she and Philip got the opportunity to feed an elephant at Whipsnade Zoo.
08:05The Queen showed absolutely no hesitation, likely from her connection to animals.
08:10Philip, on the other hand, didn't show the same level of cool.
08:13It was just one of those occasions when Prince Philip has kept his thoughts to himself.
08:17Number 11. Queen driving a Saudi prince.
08:21Being the longest reigning monarch wasn't the only service Elizabeth II did for her country.
08:26Within just a year of turning 18, Elizabeth would sign up for service.
08:30It was an unprecedented decision.
08:32This would make her the first woman in the royal family to become a full-time member of the armed services.
08:38She joined the Auxiliary Territorial Service in World War II, becoming a skilled mechanic and driver.
08:44She once showed off these talents to a Saudi prince, taking him for a spin around the Balmoral Hotel.
08:50At the time, it was illegal for a woman to drive in Saudi Arabia.
08:53Although she did once reportedly make a point to King Abdullah by taking to the wheel to drive him round the Balmoral Estate.
09:01As such, the prince was beyond shocked, especially since she was talking the whole time.
09:06The prince hilariously had his interpreter tell her to slow down, scared the military didn't teach her how to properly drive.
09:12Photographers captured her dressed in overalls and working on vehicle engines and changing tyres.
09:17And the press even named her Princess Auto Mechanic.
09:20Number 10. Royal Tongues.
09:22Prince Harry was a bit of a mischievous jokester growing up, and his personality was displayed early on.
09:27He was notably seen cheekily sticking out his tongue while riding in a car with his mother, Princess Diana, who put a stop to his antics.
09:34Decades later, Harry continues to slip his tongue out, demonstrating he's still that child at heart.
09:39The goofy gesture seems to run in the family too.
09:42His niece and nephews, Princess Charlotte, Prince George, and Prince Louis, have all also been caught in the act.
09:48We got major déjà vu when Charlotte stuck her tongue out at cameras and was pulled away by her mum.
09:55It was an equally hilarious and adorable scene, reminiscent of Harry and Diana way back when.
10:01Number 9. Charles Dancing.
10:03A royal prince breakdancing might sound oxymoronic, but video footage of Prince Charles proves otherwise.
10:10At a 1985 event, he was encouraged to join a group of surrounding breakdancers.
10:15Though seemingly uncomfortable at first, Charles ended up pulling out some surprisingly impressive moves.
10:20Showcasing his talents further, the prince participated in a choreographed Hokey Cokey dance during a Sri Lanka trip.
10:41But Charles isn't the only family member who knows how to get down.
10:45The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge boogied in Tuvalu, Harry did some partner and solo work in Jamaica, and Kate shared a comical dance with Paddington Bear.
10:54Though routinely reserved, the royals do know how to let loose.
10:57Number 8. Diana's Ski Fail.
11:10Princess Diana and her fourth cousin turned sister-in-law, Sarah Ferguson, didn't always have a picture-perfect relationship.
11:16But the two built a solid friendship that included vacationing together.
11:20During one Swiss trip, the pair made their way down a ski slope, but Diana was unable to stick the landing.
11:25After taking a tumble, Sarah skied over to check on her friend, and they of course shared a laugh over the ordeal.
11:32I can't believe that!
11:36I can't believe you do that!
11:38It's this kind of funny and carefree moment that serves as a light-hearted scene to look fondly back on.
11:43The late princess was loved by many, and her radiance as a mother, activist, and hilariously clumsy skier is what she'll continue to be remembered for.
11:51They all seemed relaxed at the start of a 12-day Swiss break, which they want to be private from now on.
11:58Number 7. William and Kate's Competitiveness.
12:00The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are proper and composed when duty calls, but there's no room for those personas when competition ensues.
12:07Five, four, three, two, one.
12:15On several occasions, the husband and wife have taken advantage of their public engagements to act on their marital rivalry.
12:22They could be gearing up for a race, competing in a sailing regatta, or facing off in a game of ping pong.
12:28No matter the occasion, these royals aren't ones to back down from a healthy showdown.
12:44Even though William has bested Kate a time or two, we're sure she'll avenge her losses in whichever humorous competition the two take part in next.
12:52She had the benefit of experience, as Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, had rode like this for charity.
12:58But William had already warned he had no intention of losing.
13:02Number 6. Anne's Video Chat Lesson.
13:05Rarely would we dub the royals relatable, but a documentary on Princess Anne revealed an experience many can understand,
13:11trying to explain technology to a parent who hasn't been there.
13:15Almost everything that she does in a public way involves people coming together to meet her for some reason or another.
13:23So that's been extremely difficult.
13:25In a laughable scene, Anne and her mother, the Queen, jumped on a video call.
13:28And the monarch was understandably not the most technologically inclined.
13:32Anne opened the virtual dialogue with an all-too-common question.
13:35Can you see everybody? You should have six people on your screen.
13:39And her mother replied that she only had eyes on four of the six people who she should have been able to see.
13:45Anne followed up the relatable exchange with a joke, solidifying this royal mother-daughter moment as one that's as endearing as it is funny.
13:53Actually, you don't need me. You know what I look like.
13:57With online technology, being in touch is one thing, but it's not quite the same.
14:02Number 5. Rockstar William.
14:04Few trios are as unexpected as Jon Bon Jovi, Taylor Swift and Prince William.
14:09In 2013, the Prince joined the iconic pop and rock stars on a Kensington Palace stage to belt Bon Jovi's famous Living on a Prayer.
14:26The royal might have initially looked tense and way out of his comfort zone when approaching the microphone,
14:31but he quickly loosened up and did the song justice with his A-plus singing effort.
14:35William seemed to particularly enjoy his time on stage once the chorus rolled around,
14:40leaving the audience and us watching from afar thoroughly entertained.
14:52It's always fun to watch the royals try new things.
14:55The randomness and hilarity of the short-lived musical group makes this legendary performance especially memorable.
15:01Number 4. Popcorn Thief.
15:13Over the years, the Duke of Sussex has shown his playful side when interacting with the youth.
15:18One of his funnier encounters took place in the stands of a volleyball match at the Invictus Games,
15:29where he found himself seated next to a then two-year-old girl.
15:33While he was enjoying his popcorn, the little one, named Emily, hysterically stole some for herself.
15:37After catching the adorable thief, Harry teased her, but was more than happy to share his snack.
15:42As a former mischievous young'un himself, he seemed to have gotten just as much of a kick out of the interaction as we did.
15:56And if there's any questions about what he's like as a dad, this sweet moment is a good indication.
16:01Number 3. Roasting U.S. Presidents
16:09Queen Elizabeth proved that she was not intimidated by her fellow world leaders,
16:13and she seemed to especially have a thing for poking fun at U.S. Presidents.
16:17She gave me a look that only a mother could give a child.
16:21During a White House visit, then-President Bush mistakenly said that the Queen was present for the American Bicentennial Celebration,
16:29which occurred in 1976, in 1776.
16:33At a later dinner, the monarch used her speech to reference the error,
16:36which aged her about two centuries, and wittily called him out.
16:40I wondered whether I should start this toasting when I was here in 1776.
16:46She also once used the overhead noise of a helicopter to land another quip.
16:53Sounds like President Trump.
16:55President Obama.
16:57Most of the Queen's jokes were humorous, but were extra funny when U.S. leaders are at the butt of them.
17:03Oh, really?
17:05Please.
17:06Boo.
17:07Number 2. Louis at the Jubilee
17:09The older royals have certainly given us their fair share of candid comedy moments,
17:15but the next generation has also already begun to make us laugh with their childly antics.
17:20Most notably, Prince Louis stole the Queen's spotlight at the Platinum Jubilee.
17:25His older sister, Princess Charlotte, tried to calm his overzealous waving.
17:29Louis continued to exude restless energy at the Jubilee pageant, clearly enjoying himself in the stands.
17:35After some time sitting on his grandfather's lap, he was seen pulling faces and dancing in his seat.
17:41And we'd be remiss not to mention how he pulled some truly hilarious faces on a balcony during the flypast.
17:49Safe to say that he was one of the stars of the show.
17:51Thanks to the young royals' vibrant personality, we did too.

18:17Number 1. The Queen's Wit
18:19Are you well?
18:21Thank you very much. I'm still alive.
18:23Nice to see you again.
18:24Despite often being thought of as stone-faced, Queen Elizabeth blessed the public with glimpses of her quick-witted sense of humour.
18:31She'd notably made clever quips about the longevity of her life, the heavy weight of her crown, and cutting a cake with an obscenely large sword.
18:38I don't think this is going to work.
18:41You're in two hands.
18:43There is a knife there, sir.
18:45What?
18:46There is a knife.
18:46I know there is.
18:49This is something that is more unusual.
18:54In other words, Her Majesty rarely missed an opportunity to make those around her smile, and it was always a treat to witness.
19:00Thank you, Mr Prime Minister of Canada, for making me feel so old.
19:04One of her funniest moments took place at a photoshoot, where she was hysterically appalled that the photographer, Annie Leibovitz, wanted her to look less dressy.
19:16The garter robe is so...
19:17It's less dressy.
19:18What do you think this is?
19:19With her cheekiness and sharp remarks, the monarch exemplified how a leader can embody the seriousness of their role, while maintaining a fun-loving spirit.
19:29What's your favourite down-to-earth royal family moment?
19:31Let us know in the comments section.
19:33Lots of gags, Lisa.
19:35That's when he starts thinking he's really funny that we have the wife.
19:38See you in the comments section.
19:52Do you see the filmmakers?
