Madurai (Tamil Nadu), July 8, 2025: A protest was held in Madurai by AIADMK members, condemning the property tax scam within the Madurai Corporation. Over 100 party cadres participated in the demonstration. In a major shake-up within the DMK’s Madurai unit, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin directed all five zonal chairpersons of the Madurai Corporation to step down from their posts. The decision comes in the wake of a property tax scam and follows the recent expulsion of the mayor’s husband from the party.
