00:00And it's lights out, away we go, and Hamilton gets away well,

00:04and Valtteri Bottas tries to cover him off, but he's not got there in time,

00:10and Lewis Hamilton on the inside pushes his teammate wide.

00:13The two Mercedes scrapping away as they take through turn one,

00:16and it looks like Valtteri Bottas regaining that lead from Lewis Hamilton.

00:20Max Verstappen in third place ahead of Charles Leclerc, Alex Albon locks up

00:24and just avoids Daniel Ricciardo in the Renault,

00:27but it's Valtteri Bottas who leads them away down the hill.

00:30Nobody made the first corner, but there was enough space on the outside to get away with it.

00:35I thought the Mercedes had taken themselves out of the picture.

00:38Nobody had enough front grip to do anything about it.

00:40Sergio Perez on the inside of Lando Norris, almost looking for a move there.

00:45Alex Albon has got pressure behind him and there's a gap ahead towards Daniel Ricciardo.

00:49Smart's flying from underneath the cars as Alex Albon at sixth place at the moment,

00:54ahead of Lando Norris and Sergio Perez, take that hairpin.

00:57Esteban Ocon ahead of Carlos Sainz, they're all duelling away,

01:01but out in front, Valtteri Bottas, what a clear lead he's got already over his teammate.

01:07Look how close Daniel Ricciardo is to Charles Leclerc,

01:10who tries to move over to cover the inside and forces Daniel Ricciardo the long way round,

01:14or into the little switcheroo here.

01:16He's got very good traction coming out of turn one,

01:19he's going to have to live with a Ferrari all the way round turn two.

01:22He is ahead Daniel Ricciardo, he is in fourth place.

01:25Charles Leclerc is trying to fight it back, but Ricciardo will keep that fourth place

01:29and now he can start to set about getting after Max Verstappen.

01:34Out in front though, Lewis Hamilton's closed to within another four tenths of a second.

01:39He's reduced the gap on Valtteri Bottas, and as I say that, Lewis Hamilton goes past Valtteri Bottas.

01:44At the end of the last lap, he'd reduced the arrears by about four tenths of a second.

01:49Hamilton has just swept past Valtteri Bottas and into the lead.

01:54So it's a lockup here by Bottas.

01:57Yeah, his right front tyre was grained, but this is going to put Lewis right on his tail.

02:02Yeah, you can see.

02:03And he'll have to pit, that'll be like a 50 pence piece.

02:07Oh, that got close, didn't it?

02:10That is George Russell.

02:11Yeah, his left rear's gone, obviously. So it's the suspension, actually, I think, isn't it?

02:16It's not just the puncture.

02:18So Kimi Raikkonen trying to get past George Russell here.

02:20Sebastian Vettel ahead. Raikkonen locks up.

02:23Oh, that caused the problem.

02:27Kimi Raikkonen has got a 10 second time penalty for causing the collision

02:31that took George Russell out of this race.

02:35So we're now back under green conditions and we're on the green grass.

02:40Yeah, Kriak goes on to the green.

02:42Alex Galvon goes past him and takes his front wing out as well.

02:48That is the worst possible place to lose a front wing if you're Danny Kriak,

02:51because you've got a whole lap to try and negotiate without one now.

02:55And so it goes up the inside and it's a clear pass,

03:00but he wasn't all the way past it when he pulled back onto the racing line.

03:04Now what is happening to Valtteri Bottas?

03:08I have no power, no power. It's like a lip balm or something.

03:12And this is not what Valtteri Bottas would have imagined when he pulled back the curtains

03:16in his hotel bedroom this morning.

03:18I'm losing power. Something's happening. I've lost power.

03:22Okay, we're looking now.

03:24Viability is terrible. No deployment.

03:26This is Sergio Perez who pitted and Perez is behind Lando Norris, but for not much longer,

03:32because he's going to try and move down the inside at the chicane on the McLaren.

03:36And he's taken full advantage of Lando Norris' struggles now to move that racing point up into fifth place.

03:42Sergio Perez coming from a long way back, trying to get past Charles Leclerc.

03:48Got much better traction out of that chicane. Does get past Charles Leclerc, who will have DRS down the main straight here.

03:57There he goes to try and fight his way back again.

04:00Perez has claimed fourth place for the time being and now moves across to force Leclerc down the inside.

04:06And that DRS working wonderfully for the Ferrari and takes fourth place back again.

04:11He's got it covered now.

04:14The next time, so this time he is nicely ahead of Charles Leclerc.

04:17Sergio Perez is far enough ahead of Charles Leclerc to now keep fourth place.

04:24And that is Lando Norris out of this race, pulling over and parking up.

04:28And the safety car has been deployed.

04:32Don't forget, of course, Hamilton's got the DAS system and that really helps warm up the front tires.

04:38Verstappen is struggling a little bit, as you can see, and already locking up, as did Carlos Sainz as well.

04:43Daniel Ricciardo is poised to strike Max Verstappen as we go racing once again.

04:48Hamilton weaving away down the main straight to get more temperature in those tires.

04:52Ricciardo wanting to make a move on Verstappen. He's inching ahead.

04:55Verstappen's got the inside line. Perez is in fourth. Then comes Sainz and Leclerc.

04:59Then comes Gasly and Grosjean and Hülkenberg scrapping away into turn one.

05:03On board now with Daniel Ricciardo. Verstappen's done very well to survive the early skirmishes

05:08and keep hold of that second place. And Sergio Perez is now having a look at Daniel Ricciardo as well.

05:14Ricciardo goes wide, but not too wide, and manages to keep hold of that third place.

05:18Fettel goes down the inside on Kevin Magnussen. Magnussen tries to switch back and will fight this one out as well.

05:28All the way round the outside and they touch wheels. And did Magnussen not give Sebastian Fettel enough space?

05:35Did Fettel think he should have had more space? Did Fettel run into Kevin Magnussen? Who knows?

05:40But it's Fettel who comes out ahead in that particular battle. Sebastian Fettel in 11th now.

05:46Magnussen thought that was pretty rude. I think Fettel was entitled to take the racing line through turns two into three.

05:53Here comes Kimi Raikkonen now on Kevin Magnussen.

05:56They're all putting up a decent show towards the end of this race.

05:59Raikkonen at the hairpin gets past K-Mag and that is 12th for Raikkonen.

06:05Lewis Hamilton, who picked up his first win in Canada, is coming round the final corner now for his latest win.

06:13It's win number 91. The record is equalled. Schumacher and Hamilton, the most successful drivers of all time in terms of race wins.

06:24Hamilton takes the Eiffel Grand Prix. Verstappen comes home for second, takes the fastest lap on the final lap.

06:31And Daniel Ricciardo, his first podium since Monaco in 2018. Well done Ricciardo, well done Renault.

06:39Lewis Hamilton keeps fighting on the track and edges himself closer once again to another world title.

06:4670 points, his championship lead. Michael Schumacher's record has been equalled.
