00:00South Korean special prosecutors on Sunday, July 6 renewed their request to detain former
00:06President Yoon Suk-yeol. This, a day after they questioned him about his declaration of
00:11martial law last December. Yoon is on trial for insurrection over his martial law order.
00:16He was arrested in January but was released after 52 days on a technical issue. A spokesperson for
00:21the prosecutors did not explain why they asked to detain Yoon, adding they would answer the
00:26question in court proceedings. Yoon's lawyer said the prosecutors had no credible evidence and his
00:31legal team would argue in court that the request for his arrest is unreasonable. Yoon was accused of
00:36using presidential guards to block his arrest in January. The Constitutional Court removed him
00:41from office in April, confirming his impeachment by parliament over the martial law attempt.
