A paramedic who was at the scene of the 7/7 terror attacks has reflected on the day twenty years on. Speaking in where a minute's silence was held, Craig Cassidy said it was a "catastrophic event that we had never experienced before". Report by Kennedyl. 00:00Well it was certainly a devastating day for everyone involved, especially all the
00:03people lost their lives and people left with life-shaving injuries. As an
00:07ambulance service it was a catastrophic event, the kind of thing we'd never
00:10experienced before, we never had multiple incidents in one go. So we all learned a
00:15lot of lessons but not just us, the other services, the police, the fire services.
00:19From the ambulance service point of view we've now got specialist teams that can
00:23respond to events like this, we've got a specialist centre that opens up for
00:26multiple incidents. So it helps us improve through technology sometimes when
00:31they talk to services better between us and the fire service and the police
00:34service. So it's not an event that's ever going to be forgotten and we still
00:39remember it on a daily basis but we learned a lot of lessons and I think it's
00:43helped improve us and all our colleagues in the services.
