00:00said to him, Abraham, he said, here I am. Then he said, take your only son, whom you love, Isaac,
00:06and go to the land of Moriah and offer him up as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which
00:12I will tell you. Now God never wanted Abraham to offer his son. He was testing Abraham.
00:18Abraham had been waiting his whole life for this child, this miracle child, the answer to God's
00:24promised, through whom he said will come a great nation. And now God says, offer up your son. So
00:31Abraham got up early in the morning, saddled his donkey, took two of his young men with him, and
00:36Isaac, his son, he split wood for the burnt offering, set out, went to the place of which God had told
00:42him. So Abraham takes a donkey, undoubtedly puts his son on the donkey, and goes. Isaac is the promised
00:50son, the beloved son of the father. Abraham means father. He's the son of the father. The father
00:57takes his son to the land of Moriah. Then he takes, it says, on the third day, Abraham raised his eyes,
01:03saw the place from a distance. Abraham said to his young men, stay here with the donkey. I and the boy
01:08will go over there, and we will worship, and we will return to you. That's the faith of Abraham.
01:13Abraham. Moriah is a mountain. The son goes up the mountain. It says, Abraham took the wood for the
01:20burnt offering, and put it on Isaac, his son. So here, Isaac is now carrying wood on his shoulders,
01:29undoubtedly, going up the mountain. And then Isaac stops, asks his father a question. Isaac said to his
01:36father, my father. He said, here I am, my son. He said, look, the fire, the wood, but where is the lamb
01:44for the burnt offering? Abraham said, God will provide himself the lamb. And the two of them went on
01:52together. When they got to the place, Abraham laid his son on the wood, binds his son to the wood,
01:59then lifts up his knife, the son of the father, laying on the altar as a lamb. The entire nation
02:07of Israel is there. God calls out, says, do not lay a hand on the boy, he says. The angel of the Lord
02:16called to Abraham and said, by myself, this is God speaking, by myself I have sworn, says the Lord.
02:25Because you have done this and have not withheld your only son. And then he says, I will bless you.
02:31Seals the covenant of Abraham right then and there. God swears by himself. What does that mean?
02:38When you swear by something, you're offering it up as collateral. He's offering himself up
02:42as collateral. And in such covenants, what the one party is doing, the other party has to be willing
02:49to do the same thing. So Abraham offers his son as a sacrifice. So God must be willing to offer his son
02:56as a sacrifice. Abraham brought his son on a donkey to the place of the sacrifice. The father, God,
03:04brings his son on a donkey to Jerusalem to offer him up. Abraham lays the wood of the sacrifice on
03:12the shoulders of Isaac to bear it. God, the father, lays the wood on the shoulders of his son to bear it
03:19up the cross. The son of the father, Isaac, goes up to the place and then he is bound to the wood.
03:29The son of God goes to the place and is bound to the wood. Then Abraham lifts up his knife,
03:37but he is stopped by God. But the father will lift up the sword of judgment over his son and he will
03:45not stop. Because that's what was needed for us to be saved. Look at that picture. Abraham and Isaac.
03:52How it's like incredible. This is the gospel right there. And Isaac asked, where's the lamb? The answer
04:00would be manifested 2,000 years later when the lamb appeared. The lamb dies in place of the son of the
04:10father. The lamb takes the place of the son. Dies as would die. In other words, Isaac was saved because
04:18the lamb was coming. The lamb would take the place in a sense of Isaac. And amazing because, because it
04:25would be through Isaac that the son of God would come to earth and would be the lamb that would die
04:30for them. So God's son and Abraham's son become one in Messiah. The Messiah, the lamb, will walk in the
04:37footsteps of the son, go through the same thing with a wood and the same thing and all that. The son of
04:43the father becomes the lamb. And Abraham named the name of that place, the Lord shall provide. What?
04:50The lamb. He just said the Lord will provide the lamb. And it says then Moses writes that he named the
04:54place, the Lord will provide the lamb. So it was still to come. It says in the mountain of that
04:59law of the Lord, it shall be provided. In other words, the lamb is going to appear on that mountain.
05:05The mystery is, this is revealing the place where it's going to happen. Where the lamb is going to be
05:10provided. The mountain of the Lord is Mount Moriah, which is Jerusalem. Mount Moriah, on Mount Moriah,
05:20there's a few, on Mount Moriah is a place called Calvary. The cross was erected on Mount Moriah,
05:27the same place where Abraham offered up Isaac and said, God will provide the lamb.
05:33It's the place, and the place was named that God will provide the lamb. Messiah, this is the providing
05:40of the lamb. Now we leave there and we go to another part of the mystery. We go to the next
05:45major, gigantic biblical event. The Jewish people have been in Egypt for centuries. Now they're in
05:52slavery. God is about to set them free. He tells them, Exodus 12, the Lord said to Moses and Aaron
06:00in the land of Egypt, this month shall be the beginning of months for you. Speak to all the
06:04children of Israel and say on the 10th day of this month, take a lamb. They will each take a lamb
06:09according to his father's house, a lamb for each house. Your lamb shall be unblemished male.
06:16You may take it from the sheep or the goat. You will keep it until the 14th day of the same month.
06:21Then the whole assembly of Israel will kill it, sacrifice it. Moreover, you will take some of the
06:27blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the house. It is the Lord's Passover.
06:33Passover. Tonight is Good Friday and tonight is Passover. And what happens on Passover? The judgment
06:41is coming on Egypt. It's coming on every house. It's coming for who? The son. The son. Again.
06:52It says, according to each of the father's house, it's the son of the father again. The son of the
06:58father. Every Hebrew firstborn son of the father. There's a judgment coming. There's a plague coming
07:03that night. And so just like Isaac, death was coming, but the lamb comes. So what happens on
07:08Passover? Death is coming to the son of the father, but the lamb comes again on Passover. Again, the lamb
07:16takes the place of the son. Instead of the son dying, the lamb dies and the blood counts as the son.
07:23And so the judgment passes over them when it sees the blood. The lamb takes the place of the son.
07:29And so again, it would happen. Again, there are beams of wood here. Like Isaac, and so the son of God,
07:40the lamb of God would come. And the first place tells you where it's going to happen. The second one
07:48tells you when it's going to happen. Because it's going to happen on Passover. So it gives you the
07:53the coordinates. It gives you the place and the time. The son of God, the lamb will die on beams of
08:01wood. Just like they put the blood on the beams, he will die on the cross. Beams of wood.
08:06On Passover. So the Bible, right there, we're just only up to Exodus, is telling you exactly
08:11when and where. And you put it together. You have the date and you have the place.
08:17Third piece of the puzzle. In the middle of the Exodus, God tells the Israelites that the firstborn
08:24male is to be redeemed. In other words, because God saved the firstborn son by the lamb, now he says
08:31every firstborn son has got to be redeemed. Because you don't have a lamb, so we're going to redeem it
08:37a different way. And you know how it's redeemed? How the son is redeemed? The father pays a price for the
08:44son. He pays silver. It actually happens to this day. You may have never heard of it. It happens to
08:51this day, for those who are observant. It's called Pidyon Haben, which means the redemption of the son.
08:58The firstborn has to be redeemed back from the sanctuary, from the priest. So they find, today,
09:04you don't have the temple, but if they find a son of Aaron, they will pay these shekels of silver
09:09and symbolically redeem their son back. The silver is standing almost for the lamb because there's
09:15no sacrifice. But you know what happened? This was happening for centuries. Every firstborn son,
09:22they would give redemption to the temple. They would give shekels of silver. But only once something
09:29happened in reverse. One time, the priests of Israel, instead of getting the silver, they paid the silver
09:37to purchase a son. Do you understand? They paid Judas for silver. That silver was taken from the treasury,
09:47from all the silver that was given to redeem the sons of Israel. Now they are paying back,
09:53they're giving back the silver, and they're taking the son. Because this son is the lamb. So he has no
10:00one to redeem him. He is the lamb that redeems everything. So they took him back. Now he's under the
10:05priest jurisdiction. Now he's going to die. But he is the lamb that he represents. All those shekels
10:12were going into him. And he is going to pay. He's going to be the lamb that redeems him. So the
10:18shekel, the fact that the priest only wants in all history, they purchased someone back. They purchased
10:22the son back. It's telling you who the lamb is right there. The lamb. So that's the thing. Now,
10:30now, we're going to go to the time. So it's identifying the lamb. The lamb is handed over
10:37to the priests on the day of Passover, the day of the lamb. In on Mount Moriah, the place of the lamb,
10:44the son of the father and the lamb. Now ultimately, an animal can die for an animal. But to save a human
10:51life, you need a human life. It can't be just an animal. The lamb that, the one who is the lamb is
10:58going to be a human being. The life has got to be that of a man to save us who are human. Two thousand
11:05years ago, on this day, there were two lives presented. Two human beings stood in Jerusalem
11:14before the people. At the feast of the governor, Matthew, was accustomed to release from the crowd
11:20any one prisoner they wanted. And they had a notorious prisoner, murderer, called Barabbas.
11:28So when they gathered together, Pilate said to them, whom do you want me to release? Barabbas?
11:33Or the one Yeshua who's called the Messiah? Now the chief priests, they persuaded the people to ask
11:40for Barabbas and destroy Jesus. Well, the priests are to offer up the sacrifice. So that goes.
11:46One is Messiah. The other is a criminal, Barabbas. Now the mystery began with Isaac on the mountain.
11:54The son of the father asking, where is the lamb? And then the son of the father is under the sentence
12:00of death. But Abraham says, God will provide the lamb. And the place is called, God will provide.
12:05Isaac is saved because the lamb will be provided. Here is the place. So now the two are standing there.
12:14Yeshua, Messiah, and Barabbas, the criminal. One of them has, there's a sentence of death over them.
12:22One has the sentence of death. The other one is the lamb. Then you have the other piece of the mystery.
12:27You have Passover. Son of the father. Firstborn son. Sentence of death coming. The lamb comes in.
12:36Saves the son of the father. So now you have the two people. Sentence of death. What day is it?
12:42Passover. Where are they? Mount Moriah. The two stand in the place where it's got to happen.
12:48At the day it's got to happen. On that day. And here's the thing. The man with a sentence of death
12:56is a criminal. A sinner. A murderer. One who deserves the sentence of death. And his name is Barabbas.
13:04But his real name isn't Barabbas. That's a Greek version of his name. His real name is Hebrew.
13:10His real name is Barabba. You know what it means? His name means, listen, the son of the father.
13:17Barabbas. The son of the father. Barabbas. So now 2,000 years before you had the son of the father
13:27and you have the lamb. And then in Passover you have the son of the father and you have the lamb.
13:32Now it's all there. You have a man who is named the son of the father. In the place and on the other
13:42side is the lamb. See the lamb is the one. Isn't God cool?
13:47The lamb is the one who dies in your place. He's your replacement. He comes in your stead. The lamb
13:57is the one who becomes one with you. Joins himself to you. On Yom Kippur, when the sins were washed
14:03away, you had a ceremony with a high priest. Presented two animals, two goats. And the goats
14:08had to look identical. So you couldn't tell them apart. You couldn't tell. So now you have two human
14:14beings. Barabbas who means son of the father and Messiah who is the son of the father.
14:23They're identical. He matches Barabbas. Barabbas matches him. Because the lamb is going to take the
14:31place of the one who's under judgment. So he matches him. They're matched. And there's even more to this
14:36mystery. You see, the early manuscripts include the other name of Barabbas. You know what his full name
14:43was? It was, listen, Jesus Barabbas. Or really, Yeshua Bar-Abbah. What did that mean? His name
14:54was Yeshua Jesus, son of the father. That's Barabbas. So on Passover day, you've got one, on one side,
15:06a criminal whose name is Yeshua Jesus, son of the father. On the other side, you have Yeshua, who is
15:13actually the son of the father. Wow. The lamb is going to take the place. And even more so, you know,
15:24they have the same name. That reveals something else here. You see, from the beginning,
15:29you have the son of the father and the lamb. The ultimate mystery is the son of the father
15:36is the lamb. He is the ultimate son of the father. The son of God is the one who becomes the lamb for
15:43us. That we, until he rides into Jerusalem on the donkey and all whole thing and the, and the point
15:48of place, point of time. But who was Barabbas? Why did the Lord do this? Why did Messiah give his life
15:54for Barabbas? Messiah gave his life for everybody. So why Barabbas? Because Barabbas represents us.
16:02Because, you see, he didn't just die for all of us. He died for each of us. Barabbas is standing in for
16:07us. He was the placeholder to show that it wasn't just Messiah general. Messiah specifically died for
16:14you. Barabbas is the one under judgment. We're all under judgment. You say, well, Barabbas is a criminal.
16:20Hey, before God, how are we? It is prophesied in Isaiah 53, the judgment for all of us fell on him
16:27and by his stripes we are healed. Barabbas is the one who needs the lamb. You and me are the ones we
16:34need the lamb. Each of us is like standing under judgment. Moriah, each of us are standing as like
16:40judgment. But now fathom this. A child is born in Israel. His parents named the child, the boy,
16:48Barabbas, son of the father. They name him that. On the day of his circumcision, he enters in the
16:56covenant. They announce his name shall be Barabbas. He shall be the son of the father. His full name
17:02shall be Yeshua, Jesus, the son of the father. What possessed them to do that? How to be the Holy Spirit.
17:11Because he's given the name of the one who's going to die for him. He's given the name from his birth,
17:17the one he's going to meet up at the end, the one who's going to die for him, the lamb. And he's going
17:24to represent all those sons of the fathers who are guilty, who have the sentence of death. But another
17:30child is born in Bethlehem and this one was the Barabbas. This one is the son of the father and the
17:38lamb. And God told the parents, you shall call him Yeshua. Yeshua, the son of the father. It may very
17:46well have been that the two were born at or about the same time. They each grew up about the same
17:52time. One called Jesus, the son of the father and the other who is Jesus, the son of the father.
17:59The whole life's living, living, raising. Now one, one, you know, it says of Messiah, Isaiah said he
18:06has no, he's like a lamb. He has no, he has no sin or guilt. And it says that Passover lamb has to be
18:12spotless. There was no sin in him. He grows, but the other one grows up and falls into sin, becomes a
18:18criminal. But he's still bearing the name of Jesus. Yeshua, the son of the father. But he's a criminal.
18:24He's a murderer. But he's still bearing the name. Now think about that. Barabbas is each of us. Each of
18:32us are Barabbas. We think that Messiah was born into our life. Well, he was. But the deeper truth is
18:40we were born into his life. When you exist, you were born to become a child of God.
18:47You were born, I was born to know God as my father, as your father. He is the, he is the, he's called
18:55Barabba because we were born through him even before we knew him. It's as if you're Barabbas. Barabbas
19:02goes through his whole life with his fallen identity, sinner, criminal, no good, trespasser. But imagine
19:09one day Barabbas realizes his name means the son of the father. That he was always meant to be the
19:18son of the father. Maybe when he saw the real son of the father, who gave his life in his place, maybe
19:25then it hit him. You grew up, I grew up, we grew up fallen. And you might think of yourself as a failure
19:33or a transgressor. That's your old nature, but it still, it still crops up. Unworthy, a victim,
19:40illegitimate, unlovable, or a mess, or somebody who's false, or in bondage, or in gloom. You're just,
19:46that's who you are. And you try to be something, but that's who you, that's who you think you are.
19:51You know, and someone who's always going to be that. Hey, you're in the kingdom now, but that's still,
19:55that's still there. That's identity. That's Barabbas. But behind Barabbas is Bar,
20:01Abba, the child of the father. And all that you thought you were, that's not who you are.
20:07That's not who you were ever to be. That's not who you were meant to be. That's not who God created
20:13you to be. That's not what God died for you to be. That's not the real you. He created you not to
20:20be Barabbas, to be Bar, Abba, the child of the father. See, that other identity is not your real identity
20:27in God. He created you to be a heavenly child of the father. Holy, pure, blameless, a child of light,
20:36of blessing, of victory, of joy, of blessings, of heaven. That's who you are. If you're born again,
20:43that's who you are. If you're not born again, that's who you were meant to be. That's your true
20:47identity. I'm a child of the father, my daddy. That's why he came. Barabbas was born and given
20:55the name Yeshua, the son of the father, because he was destined for that moment when he would stand
21:01on the pavement and see the one who he was born to know, who he was born to get to meet, just like you
21:09were, just like we were. We were born to one day meet him. The day you got saved, you were Barabbas
21:15and he was over there. And to see the one for whom he was named, the one who would give his life for him,
21:21Yeshua, the son of the father, became as Barabbas a criminal, that Barabbas could become as a child
21:28of the father. Isaiah said he was numbered with the, with the criminals. By his stripes we are healed.
21:36Barabbas was a criminal. Messiah was numbered with him. Messiah was numbered with each of us.
21:42But by his stripes we are healed. That we would be healed, not just a physical, we'd be healed of that
21:48old self. We'd be free of that. You were born in the image of God. You were born to become a child
21:57of God. You were born to be holy, not unholy. You were born to be precious, not, not valueless. And he
22:06came into your image and my image as a criminal on the cross. That was him becoming like us, becoming
22:11like Barabbas, so we could become like him now. Which is what we were born as. The son of the father,
22:18the lamb, gives himself to us. So you bear the name. So no matter who you are in some way, you bear the
22:24name of Yeshua, of the son of God, because you were born into that. You were born into that, that
22:30relationship to know God, to be able to say daddy as he says it to the father. You were born, you were
22:36bearing his image, you were bearing the image of God. But you couldn't be released until he came
22:41and he took your place, that you could take his place. He actually died your death. That you could
22:47actually, actually live his life. The two shall be one. How awesome is that? Barabbas. That you don't
22:55have to live in the old anymore. You don't have to give yourself to that bondage anymore. You don't
22:59have to dwell in that darkness anymore, or that habit anymore. You're free. Like Barabbas was free,
23:05you're free. And you're not alone. You're not to live your life anymore as if you're alone. You're
23:10not alone anymore. Alone you can't overcome, but together you can't fail. Together with him, the
23:16whole point is the lamb becomes one with the son. He becomes one with us. He came that you'd be free.
23:23It's time to become who you are. It's time to say goodbye to the old Barabbas. That's not me.
23:29That never was me. Not in God it wasn't. And rise as the Barabbas, the wonder, the child of God, of
23:37heaven. To be able to live in his living. To move in his moving. To, to rejoice in his joy. To love in
23:45his loving. To be one with him. To rise in his life. That's what the lamb's about. If you were the only
23:51one on earth, that lamb would have come for you to be a child of God. To live as the son, in the son of
23:58the father. It's time to be released. Barabbas had to be released. It's time to be released. It's time
24:05to let go. This night isn't a sad night. This is a happy night. This is a joyful night because the lamb
24:12came. This is why he came. For you. Barabbas. You're not under that anymore. You're not under
24:18judgment anymore.
