The India vs England second Test 2025 at the Edgbaston, Birmingham on Day 5 saw India defeat England by 336 runs as the hosts bowled out for 271 in the second innings chasing 608. England were 72/3 overnight on Day 4 and were already in a tough situation. The day started poorly for them as Akash Deep cleaned up Ollie Pope and Harry Brook in a short while. Ben Stokes tried to stitch a partnership with in-form Jamie Smith (88) but he was trapped LBW by Washington Sundar ahead of lunch. England kept losing wickets from one end with Jamie Smith stranded on one end. Their fate got sealed when Smith was dismissed on 88 by Akash Deep (6/99). Mohammed Siraj took a great catch to end the resistance of Josh Tongue while Akash Deep sealed things up with the last wicket completing his six-wicket haul. This is the first victory of India in Edgbaston. With the win, India has now leveled the five-match series 1-1 after two Test matches.
