00:00Elon Musk has officially launched his own political party, and he's calling it the
00:04America Party.
00:05With the promise to give you back your freedom, Musk dropped the announcement just days after
00:10a very public fallout with former BFF Donald Trump, over what Trump likes to call the Big
00:15Beautiful Bill, which Musk claimed would bankrupt America.
00:19And so, Musk launched a poll on X asking users if the US needs a new political party.
00:24Over 65% of 1.2 million respondents said yes.
00:28But here's the catch, American history has not been kind to third parties.
00:32Despite public frustration with Democrats and Republicans, no third party has ever managed
00:37to crack the presidency in over 160 years.
00:40Even billionaire Ross Perot, who grabbed 19% of the popular vote in 1992, failed to win
00:46a single electoral vote.
00:48Structural barriers like winner-takes-it-all electoral systems, tough state ballot access
00:52laws and limited media coverage make third-party runs look more like spoilers than real contenders.
00:58But Musk being Musk, he has a different plan.
01:02He's not chasing the presidency.
01:03At least not for now.
01:05His strategy appears to be targeting a handful of Senate and House races, aiming to secure
01:10just enough seats to swing the balance of power in Congress.
01:13He's also hinted at funding primary challengers against Republicans who supported the 3 trillion
01:18infrastructure and family bill to shake up the conservative base.
01:22So is this a political revolution or just another billionaire ego trip?
01:25With Musk's money, influence and massive online following, the America Party might not win
01:30big, but it could definitely make some serious noise in the 2026 midterms.
01:35Either way, Elon Musk has made it clear.
01:38He's done with just tweeting his heart away.
01:40He's now coming for the ballot box.
