What was the moment that made you want to give up?
Casey handed a letter and a rose to a woman sitting at the bar. She looked at the man who had asked her to deliver the message, believing it was a romantic gesture. But as soon as she opened the envelope, she burst into tears: her husband had died on a military mission. The woman ran away, unable to control her grief. Casey went after the man, demanding to know why he had lied to his wife about his death. He, cold and bitter, dismissed her questions. However, seeing that Casey wouldn't give up, he wriggled out from behind the table, revealing his wheelchair. He explained that, having become disabled, he stopped seeing himself as a man, as a person, and believed he no longer deserved to be with his wife.
Casey was enraged to see how easily he had given up on life and his marriage. So he offered her a choice: she could stay in the bar drowning her sorrows or fight for her love. Casey insisted they meet the next day, after closing time, to help him with his rehabilitation, because she herself, not long ago, had been in a wheelchair. Although she initially refused, the next day, as if by a miracle, he showed up again.
