00:00Hey, what's up guys? Jose here at shreddeddad.com and in today's video I'm reviewing the Freak
00:04Athlete Wheelbarrow Sled. This is a three-in-one strength and conditioning tool. It's a push-pull
00:08sled and it's also a plate-loaded wheelbarrow. So I can use this for a lot of strength and
00:13conditioning exercises. I can use this indoors and also outdoors. So this video I'm going to
00:18show you everything there is to know about it. All the details, all the features, and the pros
00:22and cons. First thing I'll show you is what makes this sled different than others out there and
00:25that is the wheelbarrow feature. Now for me this is a great feature because it allows me to do two
00:30things. Number one I can do loaded carries so I can load this up with a lot of weight. This thing has
00:35a 500 pound weight capacity and I can do my loaded carries going up and down my driveway or I can do
00:40it in my backyard wherever you do your workouts. And number two is that the wheelbarrow allows me
00:45to make one trip outside and one trip back inside. Before that I've used sleds where I have to take
00:50the sled out then I have to individually grab each weight plate and take it out there so that I can
00:55do my workout but this eliminates that. So this takes all that extra work that I don't need
01:00out of the workout so I can focus my my whole energy on the workout itself. So that for me is
01:05great time efficient energy efficient and now what I'm going to do is I'm going to show you how to
01:09convert this into the wheelbarrow. So we'll start off with the tire here. The tire is a seven inch tire
01:14seven inch diameter and this works through a spring loaded mechanism here. So right now it's in the storage
01:19position. I'm going to pull it out and then I can move it up to the next position and then the other
01:24position is going to be the wheelbarrow position and it locks itself in place there. Now the next
01:30thing I'm going to do is I'm going to grab the push pose. These are the push pose and these are going
01:34to be the wheelbarrow handles. Now these things have a little peg that sticks out from this horizontal
01:39handle here and that little peg is going to insert into one of the slots here. What I have to do now is
01:46I just insert it and then turn it and it locks in place. Now the last thing I have to do is I just have to
01:51bring this up. This is the weight horn. It's spring loaded on this end and then on this end over here
01:56it has a magnet so it keeps it in place. So I have to pull it out against the spring, bring it up and
02:02then it'll fall right into a slot there. So that's the wheelbarrow setup. Very simple to use. I load it
02:08up of course and then I can do my loaded carries. I can move it back and forth or I can use it to
02:16load it up, take my weights outside, do my sled workout or my wheelbarrow workout and then load
02:22it back up again and bring it in. Now I'm going to show you how easy it is to convert this from a
02:26wheelbarrow to a push-pull sled. Pull out against the resistance spring and then put it in the second
02:32slot. Now what that's going to do is it's going to get this out of the way because remember there's
02:36another position where I can store it even lower. So in this second position if I want to stack up the
02:42weight plates here this is out of the way so that doesn't get in the way of your weight plates. You
02:46can load this up 18 and a half inches in height here so there's a lot of weight you can put on
02:50here. Now all I have to do is get the push post out of their slots. I'm going to turn this outward,
02:56pull up and then insert the other end vertically. Now I'll do the same on the other side. I'm going to
03:02pull outward or rotate and that's it. That's the push sled right there. Now I have different handles
03:10here on the top. I can go high and vertical, low and vertical and then I have horizontal handles here.
03:17I can go high and horizontal and then I can go low and horizontal. So different options to choose from
03:23there from the push lead. Another thing about this is that I can easily push one way, pull these out,
03:32insert it on the other side
03:33and then go back and push the other way. Here's a closer look at the UHMW skis. These are an inch
03:41in thickness so they're very thick compared to other sleds out there and the whole purpose of these is
03:46to reduce noise if I use this on the driveway and also to protect my flooring and to protect the sled
03:53itself. So to use this as a pool sled there's no additional setups involved. All I need is a strap.
03:58Freak Athlete does include a strap. This is a five foot strap comes with a carabiner on the end and it
04:03also connects to a wrap around rail which is nice that they include this in this package. I like that
04:08because this is better than having to unclip from one end go to the other end to to clip again because
04:15that's just wasted energy that you're not putting into your workout. So a wrap around rail makes it
04:20easier where I can just clip it on clip the carabiner to the rail. Now if I'm walking or pulling in this
04:26direction once I get to the end of my pool all I have to do is walk around the carabiner sliding
04:32through the rail comes to the other side and then I can pull in the opposite direction. So it's just
04:37more time efficient more energy efficient it makes a difference because I'm not putting all that energy
04:43into something that's not part of the workout and it also keeps the intensity high on my workouts
04:47because I have less rest time. One thing I really like about the wheelbarrow sled is that it becomes its
04:51own storage track so instead of having the weight horn lying on the floor or the push pose lying on the
04:56floor they all have a spot on the sled and then I can stand it up vertically so it saves up a lot of
05:01space. Let me show you what I mean. I pull this up against the spring fold it down on a magnet then
05:07I get the push pose they're going to lie down horizontally same on the other side
05:15and then all I have to do is get the tire into the storage position and it's all good to go. Now on
05:21this side here I have some transport wheels I can simply stand this up vertically it stands up on
05:29itself and then all the accessories like the like the weight horn the push pose they all have a spot
05:33so there's nothing on my floor keeps the gym organized. Let's talk pros and cons. Number one con and the
05:38only con I have with this sled is that eventually I will have to replace the UHMW plastic skis. Of course
05:43that's common in most sleds but it's something that I have to do at some point so for me that's a con.
05:48Now Freak Athlete did make these an inch thick so they should last me at least two years probably
05:53more than that but eventually I'll have to get to that point where I need to replace them. Now the
05:57pros definitely outweigh the cons. Number one pro for me is that this is a three-in-one machine it's
06:01a pull sled it's a push sled and it's also a wheelbarrow. The wheelbarrow feature is something that
06:05I haven't seen any other sleds out there have so that's a big plus I can do loaded carries and then I
06:10can make my workouts more time and energy efficient by loading up the wheelbarrow taking everything out at once
06:15and then bringing everything one back in one trip. Another thing I like about the whole package here
06:21is that they included a lot of accessories that usually are extras from other companies so for
06:26example the wrap around rail usually is an extra charge the thick UHMW plastic skis are usually an
06:32extra charge so that's a big plus that everything is included in one package. And finally the last thing
06:37I like about this is that the the sled itself becomes its own storage rack where I can fold the weight
06:42horn down fold the tire and then the push pose have a place for them and I can store it vertically
06:47saving me space. So that's my review on the Freak Athlete Wheelbarrow Sled. If you want to learn more
