Tea master Chiu Mei Ling has spent decades perfecting the art of Chinese tea, blending centuries-old traditions with Malaysia’s unique characteristics.

From running a teahouse for over 40 years to mentoring award-winning brewers, she’s preserving and elevating the nation’s tea culture one cup at a time.

00:00In Malaysia, tea is more than a beverage, it's a way of life.
00:04Whether it's sipped slowly in a cup of teaam or served ceremoniously in a tea house,
00:09this drink represents a unique cultural blend shaped by centuries of Chinese tradition and local Malaysian identity.
00:17For tea master Chumay Ling, every cup of Chinese tea carries that legacy,
00:23a delicate balance of craft, culture and community.
00:30It's been a long time ago, but in the early days, tea is a very traditional business.
00:36In 1987, I was working at Csitthong.
