Hamas on July 4 said it had responded in "a positive spirit" to a US-brokered Gaza ceasefire proposal and was prepared to enter into talks on implementing the deal which envisages a release of hostages and negotiations on ending the conflict.
US President Donald Trump said it was good that Hamas had responded well to the proposal which Trump is expected to discuss with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on July 7.
