00:00The quality of your moves, and better you understand the nature of your mistakes,
00:05better you understand the nature of your game, good and bad moves,
00:09better are your chances of making fast improvement.
00:21While being a professional player, I had a habit that
00:27you have to glance at your game almost instantly.
00:34When it's over, you have to analyze it while it's all fresh in your mind.
00:38You try to understand what's happening in the game,
00:40and then you can set it aside because you have another game probably next day,
00:45and then you have to go back.
00:48And you have to find out what did go wrong.
00:52But also, you have to find out what did go wrong with your opponent,
00:57because if you won the game, it doesn't mean that you haven't made a mistake.
01:01Most likely, it's because your opponent made the last mistake.
01:04And it's very important that you find these mistakes.
01:09Opponents' mistakes and your mistakes.
01:12The greatest danger, it's what I call gravity of your past success.
01:18If we win, we're always tempted to consider it as a result of our greatness.
01:26We made great moves, we crushed our opponent, let's move on.
01:32But I bet you, there is a mistake.
01:37And if you don't find these mistakes,
01:39if you didn't find what went wrong in your game
01:44before they did,
01:48they will be ahead of you next time.
01:51So to be ahead of a curve,
01:52you always have to analyze your own games,
01:56even if you win, and that's what I did all the time.
