00:00One year in, I still feel I'm doing my apprenticeship, learning new things about the way Parliament works and the city works,
00:06but genuinely, every day is a privilege.
00:08The ability to go to London and make the case for Peterborough,
00:13when we know we're crying out for investment and change, is a really important job to have.
00:20I'm grounded by living in Peterborough and doing the job on behalf of Peterborough,
00:25but then I get to spend some time in London making the case for investment in our city.
00:30And I always said when I was elected, there were some really big challenges facing the city,
00:34but we're beginning to see some progress now.
00:36Getting the extra money for the new police officers in the city centre and the east of the city,
00:40getting the green lights of the £48 million for the train station quarter has been delivered,
00:46so we can get spades in the ground and do the project and get it done.
00:50And the more recent announcement that we've got the opportunity now to build a new indoor pool alongside ARU
00:56and get back to an indoor pool for the city,
00:59shows we can make progress, but I know people want much more,
01:02and my job is to go out there and do the job for Peterborough.
