Sambrook Manor in Sambrook held a special garden party, raising money for the local church and for Prostate Cancer too.

00:00So we're here at the lovely Sandbrook Manor. Amazing gardens. People may know them from being
00:05open for the National Garden Scheme and Eileen it's your garden. It is. So you don't just open
00:10for the National Garden Scheme you have lots of little fundraising garden parties. This is for
00:14prostate cancer. Yeah and you represent the prostate cancer charity. I'm a retired nurse
00:20but I do prostate cancer testing and Eileen kindly does this for me. I did it last year
00:26and helped pay towards the one we did at Newport and she's done it again this year which is
00:31marvellous. Fantastic and we've got one of the organizers here with you. What's your name
00:35madam? Karen, I just help Eileen out. Cool. So fantastic. You've ordered the sunshine, it's behaving.
00:42So how much do you hope to raise on today then? Well we'll probably raise over a thousand anyway.
00:49Yeah and it's for two causes. Prostate cancer and half of it goes to our local church. Grand.
00:57And so how do people get the invite? How do you put the word out then? How do you get on the VIP list?
01:04She's known everywhere. She's marvellous. She does a lot for different charities, lots for this
01:08village. Yeah. So people just know to look out. Sandbrook Manor, they'll have a garden party.
01:13Let's go. Eileen gets you there one way or the other. Yeah, yeah.
01:16Tickets out and about. It's a WRI and we can take them everywhere.
01:20Yeah, actually, actually I must mention the WRI. I've been absolutely wonderful.
01:25Yeah, right. So how many years have you been fundraising for Eileen?
01:29No, we've just been discussing that. I know, yeah.
01:32I know it's around about 1979, something like that. I can't actually say.
01:40We were having horse and pony shows and all sorts of things.
01:44Wow. Shall I make you feel really old? I was born in 78.
01:50So you can't see me on the camera, viewers, but I'm not looking fresh anymore. So let's just put it
01:54this way. Eileen's been fundraising for a long, long time. A long time, yeah.
01:58Yeah, just think how much you must have raised over those years. I know.
02:02It must add up to some, you know. A lot, yeah.
