00:00More prevention. Nanny state, banning cakes in the office.
00:04I'm the last person to ban cake in the office. I've got a sweet tooth.
00:10I'm not interested in dictating how people live their lives, but I do want to reduce obesity in our country.
00:16And that's why, with things like the weight loss jabs, I'm not happy about the fact that lots of people who are accessing them today are only able to do so because they're paying for them privately.
00:25I want, in the spirit of the principles of the NHS, I want everyone who needs access to these jabs to tackle obesity to be able to access them via the NHS.
00:35It would be good for them, but also good for the taxpayer because obesity is costing us £11 billion a year, and that's just in the NHS.
00:41That's a lifestyle choice, though, isn't it? Why are we bailing out on the NHS for people to make choices about eating more?
00:46Well, to an extent. I mean, obesity is a bit more complicated than that.
00:49And with people who've got morbid obesity, even where they're trying desperately hard to lose weight, and they really struggle with it, and that's where these jabs can be a game-changer.
00:58Have you ever tried one of these drugs?
01:00You're literally the third journalist to ask me to say, I've got a complex now.
01:04Sorry.
01:05I've not put on a few pounds since I became health secretary, but honestly, I'm never coming on this channel again.
01:09Get Martin on. I want to speak to the organ grinder, not the monkey.
01:13Martin's chucking my ear to that. But you're not answering the answer to the question, are you?
01:16Evidently, I've not been on the jab. But I wouldn't say no. But what I'm not comfortable about is the fact that people are having to pay privately.
01:28I want them to be available on the NHS, and now I'm going to go away and look at my BMI and test my energy of the process.
01:33Oh, I have no offence to it, sweetie. Come on.
01:34No, you're giving me a complex now.
01:35GB News loves you, really. Okay.
