Dozens of bears are going to be spotted around Dartford next year, as Ellenor Hospice are launching a new art trail.

Inspired by Michael Rosen's classic "We're Going on a Bear Hunt", the project plans to raise money for the charity and educate people about end-of-life care

The organisation are now encouraging artists and schools to get involved in the scheme.

00:00Dartford is going on a bear hunt and this unveiling at the Dartford football club will
00:11be some of the many hiding around the borough next year. Inspired by the classic children's
00:17book we're going on a bear hunt this brand new art trial by Wild in Art is looking to raise funds
00:24for Eleanor a hospice which specializes in providing end-of-life care from children to
00:31the elderly. Next year there's going to be 30 large bears around Dartford and Bluewater each of
00:39the bears are going to be decorated by a different artist each of the bears can be sponsored by a
00:44different business it's going to form a art trail a trail of discovery around the area and we're
00:49just tonight inviting businesses artists and schools to kind of get involved. So we're hoping
00:55that it impacts the community in a number of ways so connecting the community closer to local hospice
01:01care and specifically Eleanor and breaking down some of the misconceptions around hospice care
01:07and starting that open conversation and we're also hoping to raise funds to support the hospice as
01:13well it costs about 28 000 pounds a day to run the hospice so this trail will contribute in a way to
01:20that fundraising as well. The event also saw panelists share some of the stories of what Eleanor means to
01:28them Luke Cole talked about how the charity supported his terminally ill father. He unfortunately passed away
01:35in their care but the obviously the amazing support they gave to my mum and to my brothers and myself
01:44was really helpful during during the time when he passed so that's obviously led me to want to do
01:51this art trail for the Eleanor try and give something back to them try and get other companies other
01:56people on board get them to understand what the Eleanor is about. This new art trial is looking to tell
02:02families that when it comes to hospice care you can't go over it you can't go under it you've got to go
02:10through it but definitely not alone. Now this bear and many others like it will be spread out around
02:18the borough of Dartford from July to September next year after which they'll be auctioned off to raise funds
02:26for Eleanor so it looks like Dartford is going to be in for one big bear hunt. Henry Luck for Kame TV in Dartford.
