00:00one championship is back in China dynasty of champions has lived up to and then exceeded
00:13the billing and we are now set for our final fight of the night after two world title fights
00:19now the final of the Beijing featherweight tournament Yong Sen versus Zhang Zietai
00:30both fighters through the semi-finals now one fight for this title
01:00I will take a look at the
01:29From the new corner, from Beijing, Yong-Shen!
01:48Yong-Shen, now 3-0 earlier tonight in the semifinal round.
01:55Yong-Shen did amazingly well. He landed big strikes. He kept his distance.
02:06He had a little bit of a hard time with the takedowns, but he got right back up to his feet and imposed his game plan.
02:12Now, the interesting thing is, Sean, that both these fighters are out of the Beijing Shaolin Martial Arts Academy.
02:19And actually, I asked him, how do you feel about fighting your teammate?
02:23And they said that is exactly the game plan. That is exactly the strategy they want.
02:28They want to prove that their team is the best team in all of China.
02:33So they are here to prove a point by going into the cage and fighting for the Beijing Featherweight Tournament title.
02:41You can see that his striking is slightly more advanced because he is a striker.
02:47He is a Sanda specialist, and that's where he thinks he can impose his will.
02:54Teammates, close friends, and now combatants in the one championship cage.
02:59Young-Shen set to face, Shang-Chi, a tie.
03:14Our
03:16K differing
03:29U-Shen set to face, our
03:32Well, you may not be able to go to the next time.
03:37We're going to take the house box and we're going to go to the next one.
03:43Everything else I was sort of talking about already.
03:47Yeah, we're going to take the house box and we're going to go to the next one.
03:58In the middle of the day, from Beijing, Zhang, Zhang, Tai!
04:11Zhang, Chi, and Tai looked absolutely dominant earlier tonight in the second semi-final.
04:16Defeated Chow Longfei by way of first round submission.
04:20You can see here where he defended the takedown by getting out with a slam that kind of rocked his opponent.
04:26Using ground and pound to set up his initial attacks.
04:30Here he is with a very unorthodox side crank choke.
04:34We're not exactly sure what happened there, but he was able to secure the victory,
04:38get minimum damage, and move on into the featherweight tournament.
04:43Again, both these fighters live at the Beijing Shaolin Martial Arts Academy.
04:49They have a huge support, lots of family and friends in the stadium tonight supporting both these fighters.
04:58We can see that his striking, grappling, and cage control, his obvious strength is going to come from striking.
05:04He has spent the majority of his life spending time studying the art of sanda,
05:09which is a Chinese kung fu striking art that does utilize takedowns similar to the throws that we'd see in judo.
05:17But both these fighters are experts at that martial art, and they are happy to demonstrate their sanda skills here tonight.
05:24The winner claims his 2015 Beijing featherweight tournament.
05:33So here we go with the tournament final as you see our tail of the tape.
05:38Both men already victorious tonight in the semifinal round.
05:41Yong Sen facing Zhang Jiatai.
05:44So interesting on the dynamic when you fight a teammate, there's simply no surprises.
06:02They know everything that you do well, and what you do poorly, and vice versa.
06:06I don't know Sean, I might disagree with you there, because when you're in the gym,
06:11you're not going 100%. You're not trying to win a tournament title.
06:15You're not trying to hurt your opponent.
06:18Now, your debut fighting to stay undefeated in the one championship cage in the biggest show of their entire lives,
06:27I think they're going to put everything on the line and show another level to their fighting skills.
06:32You make a great point because obviously in fight gyms around the world, it is really frowned upon to hurt your teammate,
06:40and yet here now they have to switch the psychology and the mindset.
06:43You now have to try to hurt your teammate as well as your close friend.
06:47Yeah, you don't throw heavy knees, you don't throw elbows, you don't try to hurt your teammate.
06:53You keep them safe. Now, they're trying to hurt each other.
06:56Scheduled for two five-minute rounds this tournament final, and here we go with round number one.
07:02Peter Cha is the referee.
07:05Now, we've got to wonder, Yang Seng did take a little bit more punishment.
07:09He had a little bit more cage time in the fight.
07:12So, is that damage, did it accumulate, did it hurt him?
07:15And you can see him now in the top position, has some success in the side control position.
07:22This fight is brought to you by Wu Ji A, Beijing Sports and Development Company, Private Limited.
07:29White and black trunks for Yang Seng, black trunks for Zhang Jietai.
07:33Nice smooth little attempt at an arm bar.
07:35Now, it's interesting, the dynamic between these two is because Yang Seng is slightly older, so he is considered the elder.
07:41So, there's that little bit of respect that's going to be shown by Zhang to really kind of maybe limit his potential attacks.
07:48Nice takedown.
07:50Nicely done on the takedown, then the combination of punches land to the face.
07:56Zhang Jietai right back to his feet.
08:00You can see the swelling over Yang Seng's face in that left and that right eye from the previous fight this evening.
08:11Which he had to go the distance.
08:14All ten minutes.
08:16Zhang Jietai victorious in round one.
08:22Those were fights one and two of the night.
08:25Both have had ample time to rest and to recover.
08:28But there is a lot of swelling now in the lid.
08:32Zhang Jietai rather of Yong Sen.
08:35I love the tournament format.
08:39We really see a different level.
08:41Because most of the time, you get these fighters, they get one fight and then they're done.
08:44You know, then they're eating, then they're relaxing, they're forgetting about it.
08:46But these guys got to stay in the mindset that's competitive.
08:49Beautiful on the hip toss right in the side control for Yong Sen.
08:53But both these fighters are tournament fighters.
08:55They grew up in the Sanda system.
08:57So, they're used to going in there and doing fight after fight.
09:00So, this plays right into their wheelhouse.
09:02Neon Belli looking to pass to Yong.
09:05And he does straight in the full mount.
09:10Zhang Jietai mounted and trying to sit up, playing all defense now.
09:16You can see some slight inexperience of the ground game of Yong.
09:20He's trying to hold the head there.
09:22I wonder what, it looked like Yong Sen just kind of stepped off.
09:26He absolutely did.
09:27Stepped off with the left leg.
09:30Gave up the mount.
09:33Very surprising.
09:42Just saw a good look at the swelling on the face of Yong.
09:45On the side kick.
09:47Looking for the spinning back kick.
09:49Pulled it off.
09:50Good right hand stepping in.
09:59Zhang still looking to find his offense.
10:05You know, fighting one of your friends, fighting one of your teammates that you live with.
10:09I've never been put in that situation.
10:10But I realize it's got to be hard to be landing these kind of shots on your buddy.
10:12You're the guy you live with.
10:13You know, they live in the same compound.
10:14At the Beijing Shaolin Martial Arts Academy.
10:15It's got to be tough.
10:16But they put all that aside.
10:17And that's respect that's shown in this sport.
10:18Sometimes you're going to be put against your teammate.
10:20Especially when you reach the top of the division.
10:21Stand up order by referee Peter Jha.
10:22Center of the cage restart.
10:23Side kick misses.
10:25Hear the grunt, a big exhale from Zhang Jiatai.
10:27And he's got to be your buddy.
10:28You're the guy you live with.
10:29You know, they live in the same compound.
10:30At the Beijing Shaolin Martial Arts Academy.
10:31It's got to be tough.
10:32But they put all that aside.
10:33And that's respect that's shown in this sport.
10:34Sometimes you're going to be put against your teammate.
10:35Especially when you reach the top of the division.
10:36Stand up order by referee Peter Jha.
10:37Center of the cage restart.
10:38Side kick misses.
10:39Hear the grunt, a big exhale from Zhang Jiatai.
10:52Zhang's got that ki-ai.
10:54You know, he releases that energy with every single strike.
10:57To let you know that he's putting everything he can into each individual shot.
11:01Side kick, that lands from Yong.
11:04I like that side kick.
11:06It reminds me of kind of the Wushu stylist from Baguiao.
11:10The Filipinos that like that jumping side kick.
11:13Well done on that throw.
11:14Now opening up the ground to pound is Yong Sen.
11:20Zhang Jiatai trying to scramble.
11:23Yong nearly head north-south now into side control.
11:26You can see a very clear ground game advantage by Yong Sen.
11:31He's just moving better on top.
11:33He's sliding in and around positions.
11:35Changing positions.
11:36And Yong's just kind of a little bit lost on the ground there.
11:4020 seconds remaining round number one.
11:42Yong Sen would look to be setting up the arm bar.
11:45Never went for it.
11:48Now back in mount.
11:52Closing seconds round number one.
11:54Going a maximum of two rounds in 10 minutes.
11:58To crown a winner of this Beijing featherweight tournament.
12:03So now we're going to see a little bit of the action from the previous round.
12:10And Yong Sen's kind of pulling away here.
12:12Here is that take down.
12:13He grabs a single leg.
12:15And he's just able to drag Yong to the ground and utilize a little bit of that top position there.
12:21He's just throwing him down off of the pick.
12:24And there is a nice throw.
12:26Inside hips tossed over the side there.
12:28Look at that Sanda background definitely showing.
12:31That's three big take downs.
12:33He's landed a lot of ground and pound.
12:35He is definitely by far in control of this fight at this point.
12:39That right eye almost swollen shut.
12:48Yong Sen though fighting through the swelling.
12:55Second and final round now.
12:58The winner claims this featherweight tournament.
13:02In round two, how do you have it through the opening five minutes?
13:09Definitely this fight is going in the favor of Yong Sen.
13:12I mean, there's so much at stake here.
13:13I mean, both fighters are fighting in their hometown.
13:16You know, this is a huge debut for them.
13:18Both their first times at one championship.
13:20A lot's on the line.
13:21You know, if you can claim the featherweight title in this tournament style format,
13:27it's just huge.
13:28It's going to launch you to absolutely new heights in your career.
13:31And you can just see that he's just getting out wrestled.
13:34Yong's just getting outpaced, out pushed around by the older,
13:37more experienced Yong Sen.
13:40Looking for the Kimura.
13:41There's the tap.
13:42And there is the tournament win for Yong Sen.
13:45Blocked up the Kimura and finished quickly.
13:48Tremendous, tremendous finish for Yong Sen.
13:52He gets into a dominant position, locks in the Kimura,
13:56and just cranking on that arm and initiates the submission, the tap.
14:02I don't know if that was a verb.
14:03That was a pretty clear tap right there.
14:05Also, he released the verbal tap as well to make sure he got the point across.
14:09A tremendous showing by Yong Sen.
14:16In the semi-final round, Zhang Zietai submitting Chao Longfei
14:21and then falling victim to a submission of his own.
14:24This is from his teammate and close friend Yong Sen.
14:27I will do the same.
14:28First, thank you to the Japanese Japanese
14:30people of the Korean women of the Korean men.
14:33This is a big part of the Korean women of the Korean women.

14:58Through the victory of the winner,

15:10He exits 4-0, the recipient of that trophy,
15:16and with the title of the Beijing Featherweight Tournament winner.
15:27One Championship CEO, Victor Cui, standing with Young Sen.
15:33Young definitely a fighter to watch in One Championship's Featherweight division.
15:39You can see the hip placement, they step over, wrist control,
15:42and then locking up the core arm.
15:45Brutal submission here.
15:47His teammate gets that arm cranked on,
15:49and he just taps out, screams out.
15:51Screams out, screams out.
