00:00Tale of the tape, Larson 33, Avasolo 36, so a couple of veterans.
00:04Height advantage for Larson.
00:07The weight, five pounds heavier is Avasolo.
00:10Identical reach between these two combatants.
00:15Global rules set here in one.
00:17Three free-man-a-rounds, ten-point must system.
00:20Three knockdowns in a round as a TKO.
00:22No throws or grappling.
00:23From the USA, Eddie Silky Smooth, Avasolo!
00:53Eddie Avasolo, Drake, Tucker, Vandaria, a 13-4 record.
00:59He is the star of the American boy tie scene.
01:04Grew up under tough circumstances, marked by poverty and a hit too.
01:08But he got really serious with a rubber meet the road.
01:12Met the road a few years ago.
01:14Gary Boy tie, he kind of found his stride.
01:17He found himself finally surrounded by the right people.
01:20He's creating a family atmosphere when he fights locally there in the Bay Area.
01:25It's like a reunion.
01:26All of his family and friends come.
01:29He's got an opportunity here tonight to bounce back from a difficult,
01:33but a loss he needs that he's performed well in his lead, Nolan.
01:36Yeah, Nolan is world class.
01:38And Eddie Avasolo was right there with him going shot for shot.
01:42It was out lightly.
01:44He's coming down to featherweight.
01:46He missed weight.
01:47That's why this match is at a catchweight.
01:49He still has jumped into that.
01:50What did he do to get it done tonight?
01:52I like this match between these two guys.
01:54Both of these guys have stylistically.
01:56They've worlds between Mortal Dogs and South Fall.
01:58But if I was Eddie Avasolo tonight, I would favor that South Fall stance.
02:02The reason why is I'm moving to film on March.
02:04He had a difficult time with Biggio and Tower Giant.
02:07They're both South Fall.
02:09So I would favor that South Fall stance.
02:11He needs to tighten up his head movement when he's coming in with that stance.
02:13Because we saw in his match, Avasolo's match against Dave Nolan.
02:18He took a few head kicks and landed in some unnecessary shots.
02:22But he's just tightening up his movement up.
02:25And Lance, this guy, he isn't managed to get this.
02:27So Avasolo has a tendency sometimes to enter the pocket and strip without throwing any kind of strikes or anything like that.
02:35And allow his opponent to kind of open the combination up.
02:38So he's just coming in that pocket and hit the charge right away.
02:41Yeah, and in that taking charge, he's got to get to his slow state.
02:45They call him Silky Smooth with very good reason.
02:48You know when you're wearing those silky scarves that you like so much?
02:51And you run your fingers through them and the scarf just kind of flows its way around?
02:55That's what Silky Smooth describes himself as.
02:58He's elusive.
02:59He's hard to hit.
03:00He has to find that state, really stay within himself, and just bring out the best performance possible.
03:07Because the train chaser is legit in his movement and his pace.
03:12And he will keep coming at you.
03:14So it's very important for Avasolo to find that slow state ASAP.
03:19For Avasolo, this would be the biggest win of his career.
03:22Perhaps pop him into the rankings here in one championship.
03:30Farting out of Denmark, Niklas Dream Chaser Larson!
03:41Ladies and gentlemen, the time is here!
03:47The time is here!
03:50All over!
03:52This is what you said to me!
03:55This is what you said to me!
04:03This is what you said to me!
04:04This is what you said to me!
04:06This is what you said to me!
04:07So far, he's got a giant of the team.
04:10Even though he lost most of his fights.
04:14This guy is really dangerous.
04:16Has much better back.
04:17He's still in the right.
04:18Oh, yeah!
04:20Niklas Larson has got my phone for a walk out of the night so far.
04:25This guy is something personified.
04:28I love the way he moves.
04:29He's spent me in those jumping games, Rich.
04:32Yeah, he's lost out of the sky.
04:33He's up and up against Valentine.
04:35And this is true of the toughest in the category.
04:38That's why he's still ranked.
04:39Look, I mentioned before,
04:40both of these guys like to switch between that orthodontic and sound call fans.
04:44But I think Avasolo does it better.
04:45But Rarson has a tendency to switch into that sound call stance once he's in the pocket.
04:50So you've got to be careful about that.
04:52Because Silky's smoother when they're catching him.
04:54You know, you talk about Silky smooth.
04:56This guy's still amazing.
04:57He's like a bad door.
04:58It's almost as if he can slip through the holes of the fence here.
05:00So you've got to be careful.
05:01Rarson needs to cut the sun call off on him.
05:03And when he's striking,
05:05at the end of the strikes,
05:06he needs to stay in balance
05:07so that he's not off balance
05:09where Avasolo can return with those counters.
05:11Because when you miss on Avasolo,
05:14this guy will make the catch.
05:15Rarson paddled through a staffing section
05:18in his right night back in 2014.
05:21At one point they thought,
05:22man,
05:23we might need to take the bike.
05:24He was after two and a half years
05:26having to relearn how to walk.
05:27Made his comeback in 2017.
05:30Said the biggest thing mentally was
05:32I wanted to be happy and grateful
05:34for everything I had.
05:36There'd be more presence
05:37in every moment of life,
05:40inside and outside the one circle.
05:42And you see that in a brand,
05:44like all movies,
05:45he just has this joy
05:46and this appreciation.
05:48And he just flows
05:49every minute of this fight game.
05:51It's an honor to watch him
05:53fight and call his battle here
05:55against Avasolo.
05:56I'm excited about this.
05:57With the introductions,
06:01we send it up to Tom Lau.
06:05Next, ladies and gentlemen,
06:06we have three three-minute rounds
06:08of a 158 and one-half pound
06:10catchweight Muay Thai contest.
06:12And when the action begins,
06:15your referee in charge,
06:17Mr. Olivier Cost.
06:21Introducing first,
06:22head of the blue corner,
06:23training out of the resistance,
06:26holding a Muay Thai
06:26and kickboxing record
06:28of 13 and four,
06:30representing
06:30the United States of America,
06:35Eddie Silky Smooth,
06:40Avasolo.
06:45Your time, Eddie.
06:46Your time.
06:48And introducing his opponent
06:51out of the red corner.
06:52He is the number five
06:53featherweight Muay Thai contender,
06:55training out of extreme Muay Thai,
06:57holding a Muay Thai
06:58and kickboxing record
06:59of 61 and 14,
07:01with 30 impressive knockouts.
07:04Representing
07:06Denmark!
07:12Niklas Dream Chaser
07:14Lursand!
07:29All right, guys.
07:29Watch out for the headbutt.
07:30Low blow, back of the head and spine.
07:32You both know the rules.
07:335-4-5 clean.
07:33Touch great if you want.
07:34And back your corner.
07:37When we talked to Avasolo
07:39about Larson,
07:39he said he's fast and explosive,
07:41has everything,
07:42comes forward a lot,
07:43but can get overly aggressive
07:45and walk into shots.
07:47We'll see if that happens,
07:49if the American Avasolo
07:51can take advantage of this battle.
07:52All right, judge!
07:53Judge!
07:54Judge time!
07:55Ready?
07:56Ready?
07:57Choke!
07:58The final of our three bonus bouts.
08:00And again,
08:00top of the hour,
08:0215 minutes from now.
08:03It's 1-5-9-8,
08:05Superk versus Williams
08:06on Prime Video.
08:08You know, Brent,
08:09you mentioned it,
08:09Avasolo said that
08:10Larson has the tendency
08:12to kind of rush things,
08:13but Larson actually
08:14addressed that himself
08:16this week in the fighter meetings
08:17as well,
08:17that he needs to be
08:18more patient in this match.
08:20Avasolo's coming early
08:21from Avasolo.
08:23Yeah, that step and jab,
08:24he's already cut,
08:24the cut above his left eye.
08:29Avasolo looking dangerous
08:31inside that close range
08:33as Silky Smooth
08:33starts to get on
08:34the movement early.
08:35And that's exactly
08:36what you spoke about, right?
08:38Is that he walks into things,
08:40he comes forward
08:41almost too aggressive,
08:42but Larson was very aware of that
08:43and he's trying to temper that
08:45as he starts leaking
08:45from his forehead.
08:46Yeah, left eye
08:47it looks like some blood
08:48coming down from Larson.
08:50Yeah, it's above the left eye
08:51actually on the floor.
08:52Not a lot of problem
08:53for his vision.
08:56Two from Larson,
08:58one minute in,
08:58three minute rounds
08:59of Uy-Tai.
09:00Catch weight,
09:01you mentioned Avasolo
09:02missing weight.
09:05Finish kick from Avasolo.
09:08Flies in with another
09:09and the blood really
09:10streaming down
09:10the left side
09:11of the face of Larson.
09:15Avasolo's doing a good job
09:16coming in and out.
09:17And he's targeting
09:18he's targeting that right side
09:20to see he threw the right hand
09:21specifically targeting that eye
09:22and then through the elbow
09:23as a follow-up.
09:26Yeah, the referee's
09:27taking a really good look
09:28as Larson
09:29is peering
09:30into that forehead
09:31of Larson.
09:33Yeah, I think he's going
09:35to stop it
09:35and send him over
09:36to have the doctor
09:37take a look at it.
09:38It was that early elbow,
09:39was it not?
09:39Yeah, it was.
09:40You have to take
09:41something smaller
09:43as Nicholas Larson
09:44in the middle of the time
09:46but he has to have a moment
09:47to say that.
09:48This is actually advantageous
09:49for Larson right now
09:50not the cut itself
09:51but the fact that there's
09:52time called here.
09:53It's almost like a timeout
09:54being called in a basketball
09:55or a football game
09:56or something like that
09:56because you can see
09:57Avasolo is really
09:58holding in on his timing
09:59and if Larson here
10:01instead of going
10:02about the doctor
10:03in the country
10:03he'll take it
10:05at times in the back
10:06at least that's my fault
10:07at this time.
10:08Let's preach.
10:08Okay, come on.
10:09Ready?
10:10Ready?
10:10Ready?
10:11Jump!
10:11Now he's going to be fighting
10:14a different sort of urgency
10:15here now that the
10:16referee stopped the fight
10:18to have the doctor
10:18look at his cut.
10:19Yeah, absolutely
10:19because, you know,
10:21I mean,
10:21you can see that
10:22the first time
10:23to come back together
10:26so it's only a matter
10:27of time
10:27oftentimes
10:28until that cut
10:30ends up worse.
10:30Avasolo showing
10:32the entire Arsene
10:32point without one cut
10:34a body kick
10:34a body kick
10:35showing everything
10:36in the opening
10:37two minutes of this
10:38battle.
10:38He's Kenny
10:39have a solo
10:40the American
10:40move with Larson
10:42in the way.
10:42Yeah, this is a
10:46really important
10:47match
10:47for both gentlemen
10:48as Larson
10:51was set
10:52to kind of
10:53defend his
10:53number five spot
10:55but this is a
10:55catchweight match
10:56so if he'll
10:57definitely move
10:58Avasolo up
10:59a little bit
11:00in the eyes
11:00of, you know,
11:01the organization
11:01but as far
11:03as seeing
11:03the catchweight
11:03I don't know
11:04how that's going
11:04to affect the rankings.
11:05Three, two, three, two, three.
11:06You can see here
11:07that Ed is like
11:07running
11:08from one side
11:10in one direction
11:10and he'll cut
11:11back the other way
11:12like he looks
11:13like he's running
11:13from you
11:13and then he hits
11:14like a back elbow
11:15or a kick
11:16coming the opposite
11:16direction.
11:17Yeah, that's
11:17what Nolan did
11:18he even, right?
11:19Nolan was running
11:20into those kicks
11:21and he's heading
11:22to the move
11:23very well.
11:23The same success
11:26with the Avasolo.
11:27Hey, hey, hey!
11:28The foul
11:29momentarily spinning
11:30to the count
11:31of a solid
11:31and he got out
11:33tied through
11:34another one
11:34to a right
11:35as well.
11:36Good way to close
11:37for Avasolo.
11:38And again,
11:39blood all over the face
11:40now.
11:40Especially,
11:41that's a really deep
11:42cut above that
11:43left eye of Larson.
11:44Yeah, you're gonna
11:44put the cut man
11:45to work here.
11:50This is Larsen
11:51stepping in.
11:52This is what I was
11:53talking about
11:53about how Larsen
11:54did before
11:55on the keys to victory
11:56that he used to watch
11:57at because people
11:58switched to orthodox
11:59to southpaw
12:00on the entry
12:01and that's when
12:02they got cut.
12:02And here's Avasolo
12:03just a good time
12:04to step in
12:05and target that cut
12:06with the overhand
12:07right there.
12:07Hold on,
12:08hold on,
12:08hold on.
12:09Yeah, Avasolo.
12:11On the back end
12:12on the front end
12:13on the front end
12:14on the front end
12:15ok?
12:15Good work.
12:16They're still still
12:17nice.
12:19Ok?
12:19The front end
12:20that's the front end
12:20is a good time
12:21on the front end
12:218 p.m. Eastern
12:22on the front end
12:23on the front end
12:24back.
12:25Hold on.
12:26Hold the line.
12:28Hold on.
12:28Hold on.
12:28Second.
12:33Great job.
12:34Good.
12:35Back to the corner.
12:37Good.
12:42Alright.
12:43Ready?
12:43Ready?
12:442!
12:452!
13:14How much does it affect judges when now for the rest of the fight, and pretty much it's been the entire fight, you see blood from Larsen, even if he's landing nice shots himself.
13:29It should, in theory. I mean, granted, when you see a bloody face, I'm sure that it kind of impacts your judgment on things, but the reality is that Abasolo landed that elbow, cut him open, that's the damage that was done.
13:40Now, every punch that lands from there, whether there's a hematoma growing, the cut itself gets bigger, each of those score, but if, in theory, if the cut is there, he was still bleeding the whole match, it's like, the strike that comes from now is the one that you score that game.
13:57It's been two to go over round two.
14:10It's a good counter right hand.
14:13Let's go left!
14:19It's that forward pressure that's coming from Nicholas Larsen against that back, or hat striking.
14:25Two!
14:27It's gonna be really pretty cool of Nicholas Larsen who established himself here.
14:31I also think you start going to those kicks, start going on the leg of Abasolo in the body, just slams to the back.
14:36He's going!
14:38He's going!
14:40Come here!
14:42Come on!
14:44Come on!
14:46Come on!
14:48Go!
14:50Go!
14:52Go!
14:54Go!
14:56Go!
14:58Go!
15:00Go!
15:02Go!
15:04Come on!
15:06Round two!
15:08I would like to see this replay,
15:10but I can almost bet that I'm sure
15:12that Marshall got caught
15:14as he was covered in the pocket
15:16in such a week.
15:20It was a beautifully timed shot
15:24Adam Solo's little clip
15:26looked like he snapped his head back right there, right?
15:28And then watch the shot.
15:30Watch his short little right hand
15:32and he made
15:40Eddie Alvisolo
15:42scorching the dream chaser
15:44in round two to the canvas.
15:46He was wobbly, never got his legs back
15:48and Olivier Costs
15:50calls an end to this bout
15:52in round two.
15:54against the fence
15:56to Nicholas Larson
16:00and we make it official with
16:02Tom Lau.
16:04Ladies and gentlemen,
16:06your referee,
16:08Mr. Olivier Costs
16:10has called a stop to this contest
16:12after two minutes and 14 seconds
16:14in the second round
16:16for your winner
16:18by way of
16:20knockout
16:22Eddie
16:24Eddie
16:26Abisolo!
16:30Keep this in mind, Greg.
16:32Eddie Abisolo just moved down
16:34to this weight class
16:36and although this one was in a catch weight
16:38he just took out a ranked contender
16:40so I think this is definitely
16:42gonna put him in the top five
16:44in that weight class.
