In a video released to social media, Gov. Josh Shapiro (D-PA) encouraged voters to contact Republican lawmakers and urge them to vote against the Big Beautiful Bill.

00:00Right now in DC, in just a few hours, members of Congress from Pennsylvania, they're going

00:05to vote on a bill that's going to cut 310,000 Pennsylvanians, your neighbors, off of Medicaid

00:11and take 143,000 of them who get SNAP food assistance and take away their food assistance.

00:18These are each of Pennsylvania's members of Congress who already voted in round one for

00:23this bill and now it's the final round coming up and the negative impact it would have on

00:27their districts.

00:28I'm going to go through all this, but just pick this one right here, PA 8, represent

00:32Bresnahan, 21,637 of our fellow Pennsylvanians are going to lose Medicaid coverage just in

00:41his district and 11,572 people will lose their SNAP benefits.

00:47When you take it all together in the entire state, 310,000 Pennsylvanians are going to get

00:53kicked off of Medicaid and 143,000 Pennsylvanians are going to lose their SNAP or their food

01:00assistance.

01:02Now here, this is bad news, right?

01:04This is bad news for our neighbors in Pennsylvania.

01:07But there's something you can do about it because in just a few hours the House is going to vote.

01:11And these representatives here, they need to hear from you right now.

01:16They need to know if you're in their district that you do not support this.

01:20That you don't want to see your neighbors getting thrown off of healthcare.

01:24And here's what I bet, if you happen to get your congressman on the phone, they're going

01:28to feed you a couple lines of bullshit.

01:30Let me explain what it is.

01:31They are adding three and a half trillion dollars with $80 trillion to our national deficit.

01:39Why does that matter to you?

01:40Because it means your kids, your grandkids, they got to pay more.

01:44It means when you go to borrow money for that car, that house, whatever, your interest rates

01:48are higher.

01:49It means your opportunities in the future are limited, are restricted, you've got less

01:55freedom because they're saddling you with a whole bunch of deficit and debt.

01:59You know why they're doing that?

02:00To give a tax cut to people at the highest income brackets who do not need it right now.

02:07We cannot allow our deficit to be ballooned.

02:10To have 310,000 Pennsylvanians get knocked off of Medicaid, 143,000 lose access to healthcare.

02:16It is time for you to call your congressman, tell them the governor told you to call and

02:20reject this bill, reject the soaring deficit, reject the cuts in Medicaid and reject the

02:26cuts to SNAP, our food assistance program.
