00:00Huge support for Adrian King.
00:03I want to go through the rules, I want a good clean fight, listen to my instructions and make sure you protect yourselves at all times.
00:08Touch gloves, back to your corners.
00:11Mark Downing, the referee, with Mark Lyson.
00:14At ringside, the scoring official, the red and white of the Jamaican-born, Beverly-based Adrian King.
00:23Who's been sparring the lines of Martin McCauley, Joseph Parker, David Adelaide.
00:32He's got real experience and just 20 years of age.
00:37As he goes into his sixth professional outing gates, Adam Colerich.
00:42Much more experienced as a pro.
00:45Kick with the attributes, how good is he?
00:48Can he become a heavyweight? He has to eat up a right hand straight away.
00:53A little bit eager to impress.
00:56Doesn't want to get right into that punching range of his opponent there.
01:01He's got a long, fast jab, he needs to use it.
01:06Colerich will be dangerous early.
01:08And he'll fancy his chance of the upset.
01:11Come in full of confidence.
01:15King getting behind that jab.
01:17Curtis Woodhouse, who Dave used to train.
01:21I mean, it's an amazing story, what a sport.
01:23But he's in the corner of King, guiding him.
01:26And he believes Adrian King can become really big in this sport.
01:30Yeah, Curtis has been telling me for years about this kid.
01:32He told me about how he found him.
01:34And he sent me a lot of videos of his development.
01:37I remember when he got older, he wasn't a big kid like this.
01:40He's put a lot of muscle on, a lot of his training very, very hard over the last few years with Curtis.
01:46But Curtis has been taking around sparring with top, top-level fighters.
01:49So he's learning on the job.
01:50He's learning very, very fast.
01:52You don't get much better than Joseph Parker.
01:57Adrian King.
02:01Just utilizing some body shots.
02:04A good defense early as well.
02:06Yeah, he looks very calm when he's under pressure, which is very important, especially for a young heavyweight.
02:15He's got a lovely, fast, sharp, hard jab.
02:18Good defense from King.
02:24Coleridge is lively, as we thought he might be in this first round.
02:29Yeah, this is a good opening round from Coleridge, actually.
02:33You know, he's losing a round.
02:34Big right hand from Coleridge.
02:36A couple of them as well.
02:37He's not overawed here.
02:39Back comes King.
02:40Decent action in the first round of this heavyweight contest.
02:46That's a nice right uppercut from King, though.
02:48And a nice stiff jab.
02:50Good jab, good uppercut.
02:52Both of them trading leather.
02:54But he doesn't want to...
02:56When he finishes his shots, he doesn't want to stand in the range of Coleridge.
03:00Because that's where he's going to get his leverage.
03:02Do the work and keep it long.
03:05And then, especially in round one, when the guy's fresh, a nice uppercut again from Coleridge.
03:10Coleridge was some good work in this first round, but it's damaged by the left eye.
03:15King's hurt and gum shield out, and I just think he was wobbled slightly there.
03:21Coleridge by the power of Adrian King, and he looks to his corner as if to say something's amiss.
03:29He's given it a good go.
03:30He's worked hard in this round, but he's also taken a lot of heavy shots from King.
03:33Last few seconds of the first round.
03:40Back, he comes, he's brave this, Coleridge.
03:43He really is.
03:44What a cracking first round of action in the heavyweight division.
03:49Easy as if applauding here in Hull.
03:52Adrian King's got a little bit of a fight on his hands here.
03:55It's something that'll do good, you know.
03:59The last thing that you need is these heavyweight young prospects just going and bowling people
04:05over and around.
04:08Oh, that was a good little short all-round right from Coleridge.
04:13Push on the button.
04:14Just caught King a little bit square there.
04:16But King was putting on some good work himself.
04:22A little short shots on the inside.
04:24But he has got a beautiful long jab.
04:27So we're just changing the speed of it sometimes.
04:36Ten seconds, Colers.
04:39We'll see how fit Coleridge is now.
04:42Check it out.
04:44Round two.
04:46Second round here.
04:49And Adam Coleridge comes out with a really fast start in the black troncy.
04:5531-year-old from the Czech Republic.
04:57Seemed to be hurt, I thought, Dave, in the last 20 seconds of the first round.
05:01Yeah, and I think possibly he's feeling the pace a little bit.
05:06It was a really active first round.
05:09He's either taking shots or giving shots.
05:11He wasn't just going into a shell or anything.
05:13Trying to get his jab going again here.
05:17Adrian King.
05:19Plenty of ability from all that sparring.
05:23But Curtis was telling me he doesn't want to rush him.
05:26He wants to take his time.
05:28There's a lot of pressure on heavyweights in the country.
05:30And he's right in doing so.
05:32Because there is a lot to work with, but there's a lot to work on from what we've seen in the first round.
05:37All about the jab, that potent weapon.
05:45I was on the BBC Radio Humber.
05:48Oh, is that a right uppercut there from King?
05:50The other night with Adrian King.
05:52And you close your eyes, you sort of hear Lennox Lewis, the way he speaks.
05:56He's calm.
05:56He's considered.
05:58He's full of confidence.
05:59He was a very good athlete, both in football and in rugby.
06:03Adrian King.
06:04And he's chosen boxing.
06:065-0 already.
06:07Lennox Lewis is a very good fighter for him to look at and to watch.
06:15Because he needs the smarts.
06:17Because he's got a lovely jab.
06:19I keep saying it, but his jab is lovely.
06:21But he's coming into range with it.
06:23And he's giving his chin.
06:24And he's giving himself as a target.
06:27For a short, anyway.
06:30Body shots from Colerich.
06:32Who's a tough and game opponent to take on in your sixth professional outing.
06:38For a 20-year-old.
06:39He's giving away 11 years in age.
06:41And he's really, really up for this tonight, Colerich.
06:46He is.
06:47And you know what helps with that?
06:49The fact that he's having success.
06:51When an opponent's there and he's there to get beat,
06:54if you give him success, especially early doors,
06:57he starts getting a little bit more game.
06:59Some of these chopping right hands to head and body
07:03finding gaps in King's defence.
07:06But he's keeping his composure.
07:08The man from Beverley.
07:12It's good, this, because we're seeing that King's actually tough as well.
07:17He's got attributes.
07:18He's also a key attribute, especially in the heavyweight division,
07:20is he need to be tough.
07:23I don't mean mentally tough.
07:25Well, he's a great sprinter.
07:26He can do the 100 metres, I think, in around 11 seconds,
07:29if not quicker.
07:30Good uppercut as well.
07:32So he's got the athleticism.
07:35And he's got the self-belief as well,
07:37having been bullied as a kid and not finding his way.
07:40And then suddenly, Curtis Woodhouse comes in
07:42and turns his life around.
07:44It's a great story of what boxing can do.
07:47And it's fantastic to have Adrian King with all his support here in Hull.
07:52See, a beautiful uppercut there from King,
08:17but then he leaves himself bare in the same range
08:19for Colbert just to throw short hooks.
08:22He didn't even have to work that he's in his own range.
08:24He's in his own range.
08:37He's in his own range.
08:38I can hear him.
08:40Check his out.
08:42the stream round three
08:44here's the third round it's a good one embryonic education for adrian king and a decent matchup
08:57with this venom from the czech republic adam kolerich who's uh landed a few flush right
09:03hands he seemed hurt at the end of the first but he sucked it up and he's a smaller man
09:08the more experienced and it's a good matchup for adrian king it is and kolerich has not just
09:14landed headshots he also worked well to the body we've seen him land some really good right hooks
09:19underneath as well it's a really good test for king
09:23backed up into the neutral corner hurling leather at king's body it's a good one for the gbm and
09:32so broadcast this this heavyweight match without a doubt we look to see big men slinging bums in
09:38good uppercut from adrian king sort of unfair really to sort of throw him in the likes of
09:49the the up-and-coming heavyweights like moses atalma's particularly special and they admire
09:55moses they don't want any sort of comparisons it's not really fair no no not yet like curtis is saying
10:01let him develop you don't want to you don't want to rush him but when you don't want to rush him
10:05that you can't speak too highly you can't start you know put him into the same brackets as people
10:09like that allow him to develop because there's a lot like i said there's a lot of raw material to work
10:13with and he's doing the right thing by taking around sparring with all these good fighters top top
10:18best fighters it's just knowledge and and ring experience that he needs i think i think he had
10:23limited amateurs i don't think he had two amateurs or something like that whipping in these other
10:28cups and right hands colerich still who's got eight victories remember seven inside schedule
10:35against those nine losses he's just more professionally seasoned is it yeah yeah and he's not afraid to
10:45attack king no
10:46good job from king just trying to keep things under control nice and simple having curtis woodhouse in
11:09the corner the former top footballer turned british champion i mean bags of experience in there
11:15king's word weights dropped down a lot he's definitely feeling the pace cut high maybe or damage to the eye
11:23of king left eye keep and watch out for that but that will spur colerich on and this is
11:29a really grueling fight for adrian king and it's gonna answer some questions about the the toughness
11:37of this youngster from beverly
11:39that that damage to colorish's left eye is gonna spur king on
11:47yeah cut high for colerich he was dead it was definitely a lot slower that round king was definitely
11:53a lot lot more tired well there's blood to the nose a bit of damage to his own left eye bruises
11:59for the pair of them but colerich is more experienced in these sort of fights
12:06it's really nicely poised at the halfway mark
12:10see colorish throwing the one as he comes in and then he's walking king back
12:14as he's rocking king back onto his heels that's harder for the big man whoever's getting rocked back
12:18especially at this size it's again it takes more out of your legs and colerich is doing a good job of that
12:23he'll throw the shot bundle into you and he's forcing king back
12:26tomorrow
12:31leonel messi reunited with psg
12:35and he's into miami face the champions league winners at the mercedes-benz stadium
12:42in atlanta round four the club world cup live of the zone
12:49through till mid july
12:52watch all the games
12:56oh i think there was a nice left up underneath from king
13:00how are you seeing it at this stage
13:02i would say i would say 2-1 i think the king
13:06how does that i would probably give the last round
13:10so every round has been competitive
13:12it's been very good remember mark lyson scoring from
13:16the side of the ring
13:18mark downing in charge of the action
13:21inside it
13:22adrian king who turned over in november
13:252023 in uh well it's toughness assignment so far fight number six will he keep his undefeated record
13:34that damage to the left eye of colerich
13:40and the jab good when he's on point with it king
13:43yeah
13:44he's a very up i think that's that's why he's actually missing quite a lot with the jab because
13:50he's thrown at the same same speed same spot anywhere
13:53just a little flat on his feet king just needs to keep on those toes
13:59it's a different sport obviously he's used to the rugby fields the sprinting the athleticism
14:08but it's a different type of ring fitness isn't it
14:11as you're taking along in these learning rounds
14:13yeah but listen i presume the sparring that he's been getting
14:16he's very much used to it now
14:18but it's just experience it's just inexperience
14:22i think the left eye of king um above the left i think that looks a little bit swollen
14:30yep
14:33see how he just copes with it i like his mentality
14:38and i've liked his coolness
14:40yeah he's he's dressed really sharply around the big media events here this week and
14:44his suit and tie and shiny shoes and we're wandering around hull together and a few people are recognizing him he's
14:51starting to gain a little bit of interest as heavyweights would do from these parts
14:56arlo stevens of course from york as well
15:02good work from colerich just turning his man
15:12close competitive action
15:16but both ben are definitely feeling a pace now
15:30not as much clean work to land in this round
15:33which is understandable
15:35oh that's good work from college
15:44coming up next the return of the fantastic sean mccombe
15:54it starts because now i've got some promotional backing for the first time in my career
15:59um thanks to easy and um listen it can only make exciting time i'm fully focused on saturday night
16:06i have a task at hand i have tactics which i need to do to get a good win
16:10and and every fight is like a cup final for me
16:14yeah um i have to win
16:16i don't believe i don't believe in ringers
16:18i don't believe it exists
16:20i think it's an excuse for for people here in act
16:23inactive within their own training
16:25i haven't been inactive for the mountain i've been spying i've been in amsterdam
16:29one of the best fighters in the red hot super lightweight division
16:39returning to the fold
16:42after 14 months out a new gbm signing
16:47izzy assi for mitch costolo at ringside
16:51watching on as adrian the next king
16:55makes some waves
16:58and his sick professional outing in with adam kolerich from the czech republic
17:02it's uh a fight obviously kings expected to win but
17:05it's a uh
17:07a fight for a close call to staves
17:10it is it's it's been a very competitive fight
17:13very competitive fight
17:14dropping a few feints before he throws
17:17because you know it's good
17:19see college is going to bite on the feints
17:22and you can set him up for
17:24counters i think we've seen king's very nice
17:27he's got a nice left up counter
17:28this is good work again from kolerich
17:32trying to get his jab going again king
17:39but this is a mighty effort from adam kolerich
17:44he's coming off a stoppage defeat as well
17:47and it just goes to show how tough these european circuit fighters really are
17:52yeah without a doubt
17:53whipping in the body shots kolerich we don't sometimes either give enough credit to these guys
18:08who soak up the punishment and they get the defeats on the record
18:12he's lost more than he's won but you wouldn't think so
18:15now very very tough very very game
18:18but like i said if you give them success early doors in the fight
18:23then it gives them that it spurs them on it gives them that um determination that drive
18:27again this is good work from kolerich where he's he's managing to push king back on his heels
18:33body shot from kolerich again there's a nice little right right uppercut count from king
18:44but kolerich came back again with the body work
18:45sweat pouring off the power of the dripping off the red and white trunks of adrian king it's been fought at some tempo this sixth rounder
19:04with jemma richardson kicking off the show excellent action already good right hand from kolerich as he steps in
19:15a couple of times he's caught king with a second shot as he steps in as he's throwing
19:24last 30 seconds of round number five king trying to get some spring to his step
19:34looking to remain undefeated and a heavyweight prospect still just 20 years of age and i know
19:42that's the same as a talma but but moses has got that spectacular feel about him and
19:49it's hard when someone like that's on the scene
19:53curtis woodhouse just wants to take his time with adrian king build him up slowly
19:57and this is a good learning fight for him
20:12and this is a good learning fight for him to come and see who's going to be
20:30so
20:3410 seconds crossed
20:49Second is out
20:54For your sixth and final round
20:58Final round in the heavyweight division, Adrian King from Beverley here in Yorkshire
21:12In his sixth professional outing
21:15And he's had a tough one, a really hard night's work against this game
21:19Adam Colerich who's gone for it despite the cut iron being hurt at the end of the first round
21:25He's stuck to the task, he's hit King with some body shots
21:29What have you made of King's performance?
21:31I know you're close to the team but if you're being critical, what do you say?
21:35There's a lot to work on, there's a lot to work on
21:38You know, he's not made use of his physical advantages
21:42He's not making, he's got such a good jab, he's got a good straight right hand
21:46But everything, when he lands his, even when he lands his jab
21:49His head's right there in the range for Colerich to just fire back
21:53Look, he just squats with his hands up there and it invites Colerich to throw
21:57Even if Colerich doesn't land clean with the first shot
22:00He's been landing with the second shot or the third shot
22:04King's winning it though
22:06Yes, but it's close you know
22:08For me it's close
22:09For me it's close
22:10You know, I wouldn't
22:11It's not at the point where you think
22:13Okay, can I have a rest this round
22:14I think he needs to go out and win the round as well
22:16It's a close fight
22:17Colerich has put so much into it
22:19He's landed plenty of right hands
22:20He's surely
22:21I would
22:22Taken a couple of the rounds
22:23I would say, I would say that Colerich has won two rounds
22:25Without, I mean look here
22:26Look at the body work there again from Colerich
22:29Yep
22:31He could just seek out a draw maybe here
22:33Alan Colerich
22:36If he could finish well
22:37Adrian takes another right hand
22:39Another right hand
22:40This is a good round
22:41From the man from the Czech Republic
22:44It's a very good round for me
22:50It's very close
22:54Let's find out how
22:56Much Adrian King wants it
22:59How much
23:01Is in the tank
23:02The fans have gone a bit quiet
23:04Colerich looks tired
23:05King's got to let his hands go
23:07Because Colerich is winning the round
23:10He's definitely winning the round
23:12That's a good left hand from King
23:14But it's not enough
23:15He's got the gum shield out again
23:17That's a little bit of a trick to bide a bit of time
23:21I think he thinks he's got the round at the back here
23:23Alan Colerich
23:24Whether he's going to get the decision
23:26With Adrian King a home fighter
23:28You never know
23:29I'll be honest with you
23:30We've got about 30 seconds left
23:32This is
23:34This is Colerich's round
23:35For me
23:36That makes his
23:37He's got three rounds
23:45Again
23:46Both of them digging in
23:48Body shots flying
23:49Great action
23:50Last 30 seconds
23:52Who wants it more
23:53Is keying up slightly
23:54Colerich is finishing very very strongly
23:59And some of the best punches
24:01That you remember from this fight
24:03Have come from Adam Colerich
24:04Yeah without doubt
24:07This is close
24:08And Colonel's Woodhouse knows it
24:10And Adam Colerich
24:12Believes he can take this
24:13Yeah he loved it
24:15Adam Colerich
24:16Yeah he loved it
24:17Adam Colerich
24:18And he feels he might get it
24:21And Adrian King
24:22There's no celebration
24:24It was a tough tough fight
24:26I wonder how Mark Lyson's got it
24:29I'll be interested to find out
24:30I don't know
24:31But I think
24:33For me
24:34I think that's a draw
24:35Great learning fight
24:44Good action
24:45Great match
24:46Fantastic learning fight Adam
24:47A brilliant learning fight
24:48The kids are only going to get better from that
24:49I like him
24:50I like him
24:51He's got a lot of good attributes
24:53A very good prospect
24:55He's in a real fight here
24:56Against somebody that's throwing punches back
24:58He's going to learn loads from it
24:59But it's a big night in Britain
25:07With Shaq and Peders and Brad Ray
25:11Still ahead on this side of the pond
25:14In the zone
25:15But later on
25:19Jake Paul of course
25:21And then July 24th
25:24It's a Dublin Golden Boy announcement today
25:27Manny Flores taking on Jorge Chavez
25:30In the Golden Boy event from Indio, California
25:34Back here
25:35Who's got this?
25:36Adrian King
25:37Or Adam Colerich?
25:48Ladies and gentlemen
25:50Please show your appreciation for both boxers
25:57After six rounds of boxing
26:00We go to Mark Lyson's scorecard
26:02Which reads 58 points to 57 points
26:06In favour of your winner
26:09From the Czech Republic
26:12Adam Colerich
26:16Adam Colerich gets the victory
26:19There's boos around this arena
26:21But I think that's sort of fair enough
26:23Fair enough
26:24It was very close
26:26Adrian King is really disappointed
26:28But Adam Colerich
26:30Has come here
