00:00The M.A.C.C. has launched an investigation into alleged corruption and irregularities
00:07involving the tender process of My Kiosk project under the Housing and Local Government Ministry
00:13following a complaint lodged by a political party.
00:16The Commission's Investigation Division Senior Director Datuk Zainul Darus said the Governance
00:22Investigation Division has also commenced a parallel investigation into the project.
00:28He added that apart from the Ministry which has submitted a full report on the tender,
00:33process and award, several other involved parties have also provided documents related
00:38to the project.
00:40Zainul said the M.A.C.C.'s investigation would focus on two key aspects, identifying any elements
00:48of corruption and irregularities in the tender process.
00:52The investigation is being conducted under the provisions of the M.A.C.C. Act 2009.
00:59According to the Ministry, all procurement and contractor appointments for My Kiosk were carried
01:04out by 133 local authorities via open quotation processes.
01:10On May 21, MCA Youth lodged a report with M.A.C.C. regarding the My Kiosk 2.0 project.
01:18Its Deputy Chief Mike Chong said concerns rose about its high material costs, claiming the
01:23costs were higher than outside.
01:26He added reports and feedback also indicated the kiosks were underutilized.
