Speaking to reporters on Air Force One, President Trump discussed the Big Beautiful Bill.
Transcript
00:00Sir, how much arm twisting do you think you'll have to do to get it past the House now?
00:05What's your game plan for that?
00:07I felt the Senate was going to be tougher than the House.
00:11We got there, we got pretty much what we wanted.
00:15It's an amazing, it's the biggest bill ever passed if we get this done.
00:20You know, most of the people wanted seven or eight different bills.
00:23And I thought that was tougher because it'd be 100%, but then it'd be nothing.
00:28And this bill has something for everybody by doing it this way.
00:32So we're happy about it, we're happy with the results.
00:34So are you concerned that they're going to be able to make further changes in the House?
00:38Well, they're going to ask for certain changes probably.
00:41I don't know, I mean, I guess what would happen if that happens,
00:44you'd then have to run it fast past the Senate, so it never ends.
00:50I don't know if that's going to happen.
00:51Do you think it's still possible to get this done by Friday?
00:54On occasion that will happen where they'll make a change and they'll get it past.
00:57So we go pretty quickly.
00:59But I think the Senate was a very big move, and they worked very hard.
01:05I didn't get along with Tillis, and he resigned.
01:09That's good.
01:10That's a good thing.
01:11Are you going to run for that seat, sir?
01:12Tom, tell us the seat.
01:14Somebody that would really be great is Laura.
01:17She grew up there, but they live in Florida.
01:21They have a very good life, and they're great people.
01:24She did fantastically running the RNC.
01:27She's even got a show that's like the number one show, and Mark Levin is likewise.
01:32I mean, they have the number one, number two show over the weekend.
01:36So she's done well.
01:37She's a great person.
01:38Laura Trump.
01:40I mean, that would always be my first choice, but she doesn't live there now.
01:45But she's there all the time, apparently.
01:47You know, she really knows North Carolina well.
01:50I won it three times.
01:53I don't know who the candidates are going to be.
01:55I think you're going to have one of the congressmen step up, and you should do very well.
01:59So did she talk to you about it at all?
02:01No, no, no.
02:01She did so soon.
02:02I had it out with this guy two nights ago, and he resigned, which I was happy about.
02:09He did us all a favor.
