00:00A long time ago, in a village called Naruma, there lived a girl named Zala. Everyone in the village knew her. She was strikingly beautiful, with glowing skin, and eyes that shone like morning dew. Whenever people saw her, they would stop in their tracks just to look at her, but there was more to Zala than her looks. People were deeply afraid of her. She hated men with a passion that burned like fire.
00:22Zala was different from the other girls in Naruma. She never laughed or joked. She walked with a serious face and kept to herself. When any man tried speaking to her, things quickly turned ugly. She never allowed them to come close, and if they tried, she would beat them without mercy.
00:39Men in the village learned their lesson quickly. Some had swollen eyes from her punches. Others limped for days after meeting her wrath. No one wanted to experience the fury of Zala.
00:50Even though her beauty captivated many, fear always won over admiration. They warned each other, stay away from her. She is not like the rest. Her name was spoken in hushed tones, more like a warning than a compliment.
01:03And so, Zala lived alone in Naruma, admired from afar but feared by everyone. One morning, Zala made her way to the village market to buy some food. The marketplace was bustling, full of traders shouting and buyers chatting. Zala moved silently through the crowd, her face cold and unreadable.
01:22She picked a few items and was about to leave. When a young man accidentally bumped into her, he had not been paying attention, and before he could even apologize, Zala's hand moved fast.
01:33Slap. She struck him across the face. The sound rang out loud enough to silence the entire market. People froze in shock. The man stumbled back, clutching his face, his cheek bright red, with the imprint of her fingers.
01:46He said nothing, only stammered, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, then turned and ran away. Disappearing into the crowd, the women around exchanged glances and whispered softly to each other.
01:57She did it again, but none dared approach Zala or confront her. The market slowly returned to its rhythm, but the fear of Zala only grew deeper in everyone's hearts.
02:07Despite the fear, many men in Neruma still longed to marry Zala. They were drawn by her beauty, and believed they might be the one to soften her heart. Some thought being kind would help. Others assumed she just needed time.
02:21But all of them were wrong. They came one by one, offering gifts, sweet words, promises of love. Zala saw through all of it.
02:29She would let no one close, and when they pushed their luck, she would beat them so badly that they left limping and ashamed. Some begged for her to stop, but Zala never showed mercy.
02:40Even the village chief believed his son could win her over. He's different, he said proudly. He is my son. She won't dare touch him.
02:47The chief's son visited Zala, confident and full of charm, but Zala didn't care about his status or his smile. When he reached for her hand, she punched him with such force he lost two teeth.
02:58He returned home with a swollen jaw and bloodied lips. Unable to speak, the chief fumed with anger, but he did not challenge Zala, for he too feared what she might do.
03:08Words spread quickly across Neruma. No matter who you were, Zala would not tolerate any man near her. The constant beatings worried the village elders.
03:17They sat together, wondering why Zala hated men so much. She was strong, yes, but her anger ran deeper than anyone could understand.
03:25They decided to call her to the village square, where the entire community could watch and listen. People gathered out of curiosity, wondering what Zala would say.
03:35Zala walked into the square, tall and calm, her face unreadable as she looked at the circle of elders and the crowd around them.
03:42The elders asked gently, Zala, why do you hate men? Why do you fight every suitor that comes to you?
03:48Zala looked at them without fear, her voice steady. I will never let a man have control over me, and I will never stop defending myself.
03:56Her words caused a ripple of shock among the villagers. Whispers flew through the air, but Zala said nothing more.
04:03When an elder pressed further, asking what happened to her, Zala remained silent. She would not explain.
04:09The elders eventually gave up, letting her walk away, but the mystery of Zala grew even more.
04:15The villagers returned home, murmuring about what secret pain could make someone so fierce.
04:21Not long after, on a hot afternoon, Zala walked to the stream to fetch water.
04:25The sun blazed, and the path was rough. As she returned, her foot slipped on a rock, and she crashed to the ground.
04:32The water pot shattered, and her ankle twisted in pain.
04:35She groaned, trying to get up. A nearby farmer saw the accident and rushed to help.
04:41He knelt beside her, trying to tie cloth around her injury to stop the bleeding.
04:46But Zala misunderstood. She believed he was trying to take advantage of her in her moment of weakness.
04:52She screamed at him and punched him in the face, knocking him backward.
04:56Don't touch me, she yelled, her voice sharp with rage.
04:59The farmer, stunned and hurt, tried to explain.
05:02I was just helping. But she wouldn't listen.
05:05She stood, panting with anger, while the farmer limped away, holding his bruised face in silence.
05:11He knew better than to fight back.
05:13In Neruma, no man dared raise a hand to a woman.
05:16The story spread like fire.
05:18Zala beat a farmer, who only wanted to help.
05:21The villagers whispered, but fear held their tongues.
05:24No one dared confront her, and her legend grew darker.
05:28Yet amidst the fear, there was one who was not discouraged.
05:31The village prince had been watching Zala for some time.
05:34He admired her strength and the way she stood alone.
05:37He had never met anyone like her, and he felt drawn to her.
05:41He began sending her gifts, fine clothing, sweet fruits, rare trinkets.
05:46Zala didn't reject him, but she remained cold.
05:49She watched him with cautious eyes, never trusting his smile.
05:52The villagers were surprised.
05:54They wondered, will the prince be the one to change her?
05:57One day, the prince invited Zala to walk with him by the stream.
06:01The air was cool, and the path gentle.
06:03They walked in silence, and for once, Zala didn't push him away.
06:08The prince took this as a sign that she was warming up to him.
06:11Feeling confident, he made a grave mistake.
06:13He reached for her hand.
06:15Just a simple touch.
06:16But to Zala, it was the same as every other attempt to take control.
06:21Zala got in a flash.
06:22Her anger exploded.
06:24She hit him hard in the chest, then struck his face with a furious blow.
06:28The prince stumbled back, trying to shield himself.
06:30But she kept coming, until he lay on the ground, battered and bleeding.
06:35His guards rushed forward, lifting the injured prince and carrying him back to the palace.
06:39News of the attack swept through Neruma.
06:42Zala struck the prince.
06:43The villagers gasped.
06:45No one had ever dared harm him.
06:47They were stunned.
06:48The palace was thrown into chaos, and when the king saw his son's bruised and broken body,
06:53he erupted in rage.
06:54Who dares do this to my son?
06:56He roared.
06:57The servants trembled, but they all knew it was Zala.
07:00No one else in Neruma had such fearsome strength.
07:03The king sent messengers immediately, summoning Zala to the palace.
07:07The village stirred with curiosity.
07:09Crowds gathered in the courtyard waiting for her to appear.
07:12What would she say?
07:13Would she finally be punished?
07:15Zala arrived.
07:16Her head held high, walking slowly into the palace yard, where everyone watched her closely.
07:21The king glared from his throne.
07:23His voice thundered.
07:24Why did you attack the prince?
07:26Zala stood firm.
07:27Her eyes locked on his...
07:28She said nothing.
07:30The king grew angrier.
07:31Speak, girl.
07:33Explain yourself, or face the consequences.
07:36Zala remained quiet.
07:37Her face hard as stone.
07:39The villagers leaned in, hoping to hear her speak.
07:41But she held her silence until, at last, something shifted.
07:46Her face softened.
07:47Her shoulders dropped.
07:48And for the first time, her voice trembled.
07:50My father, she began.
07:52The one who should have protected us.
07:54He was not kind.
07:55Her eyes filled with tears.
07:57And the courtyard fell into silence.
07:59He beat my mother every day.
08:01He shouted at her.
08:02Treated her like a servant.
08:04Whenever she tried to speak, he would hit her until she cried.
08:07Zala's voice cracked as she spoke.
08:09One day my mother was pregnant.
08:11A small argument turned into something worse.
08:14He lost his temper.
08:15Beat her so hard she fell and lost the baby.
08:18And a few days later, she died.
08:20The crowd gasped.
08:22Zala's tears fell freely now.
08:24I was just a child.
08:25And I watched helplessly as she took her last breath.
08:28And after my father died, I thought the pain would end.
08:31But it didn't.
08:32When I moved in with my uncles, things only got worse.
08:35They were cruel, bringing strange women into the house, treating them with no respect.
08:40They forced themselves on them, insulted them, and hurt them.
08:43The women had no power.
08:45And even their wives, the ones they lived with, were beaten and silenced.
08:49I watched, day after day, as women were treated like they were nothing.
08:54It was in those dark moments.
08:56I made a promise to myself.
08:58No man would ever treat me like that.
09:00I could not save my mother or those women, but I could protect myself from becoming one of them.
09:05I would never let a man get close enough to hurt me again.
09:08And so I became the girl everyone feared.
09:11Not because I wanted to be cruel, but because I had to survive.
09:14Her voice shook, but her gaze remained steady.
09:17The villagers looked at her not with fear now, but with sorrow and understanding.
09:22The men who had tried to tame her lowered their heads in shame, realizing the pain behind her rage.
09:27The women in Naruma who had lived in silence, saw Zala in a new light.
09:32She had fought for herself, and in doing so had stood up for them all.
09:37The prince, who once believed he could win her over, saw the truth of her story.
09:41And with a heavy heart, he apologized sincerely, and promised to honor and respect her.
09:46The king listened, and made a decree.
09:49No woman in Naruma shall ever be mistreated again.
09:52The uncles who had hurt so many were punished, and a new respect for women began to spread across the village.
09:58Zala remained strong, but something inside her began to heal.
10:02She agreed to marry the prince, not because she had changed, but because he had learned to see her strength and value her for it.
10:08Their union was not one of power, but of respect, strength meeting strength.
10:13The people celebrated not just the marriage, but the transformation that followed.
10:17Zala's journey from pain to power, from fear to respect, became a story passed down through generations.
10:24It was the story of a girl who refused to be broken, and a village that finally learned what it meant to truly honor its women.
