00:00With hopes still floating, the search for the 34 missing sabongeros takes a deeper turn.

00:05The Department of Justice is casting a wide net, seeking help from Japan and local agencies to deploy underwater drones in Taal Lake

00:11as investigators continue to follow every lead, no matter how deep or dark.

00:16Our Luis Erisbe provides us more.

00:19The Department of Justice has written a letter to Japan requesting for the Remote Operating Vehicles, or ROVs.

00:26According to Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Rebulia, this will help in finding the 34 missing sabongeros,

00:33which was believed to be under the Taal Lake, based on Elias Totoy's statement.

00:38But aside from Japan's ROVs, DOJ is also coordinating with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources

00:44to use the local equipment available in the country.

00:48I think we'll be able to get equipment from the Bureau of Mines, in geosciences, because of the DNR.

00:54The Philippine Coast Guard also offers their own ROVs and expressed readiness to dive deep into Taal Lake

01:05for their search and recovery operation.

01:07As of now, they are on standby for deployment anytime the government rings the bell

01:12and orders them to scour the bottom of the lake.

01:15So, itong operasyon na ito, nakikita po namin na hindi lang po ito Philippine Coast Guard,

01:20pero kailangan rin po natin ang supporta ng ibang ahensya, katulad po ng NBI,

01:25sa pagdetermine po na itong mga katawan, if ever po nabangit nyo nga po kanina,

01:29na sobrang tagal na po ang report na ito na pagkakawala nila,

01:33ay kailangan po natin yung mga eksperto from the other agency.

01:36While the efforts to look for the bodies of the Sabongeros are in place,

01:40the investigation is also ongoing.

01:43There is information spreading that Ilyas Totoy is allegedly connected to an actress

01:48and showbiz celebrity who many believe or consider as an alpha member of the case.

01:54Remulya did not answer directly if the actress is involved,

01:58but there are other names with potential links which need to be looked into.

02:11The DOJ is cooperating with the Philippine National Police

02:14to verify reports and information gathered thus far.
