00:00Senator Tito Soto says he is ready to take the minority leadership if not elected Senate
00:06President. He says, quote, that role is also a good one. I am very prepared for it because I
00:12had served as minority leader before, back when Nene Pimentel was Senate President. Soto is vying
00:17for Senate presidency against current President Chisa Escudero. The senator ran under President
00:22Marcus's slate in the midterms. When asked if being part of the minority means opposing the
00:26president, Soto says he is willing to cooperate with the administration while remaining critical
00:31when needed. In May, Soto said three to four senators approached him about taking Escudero's
00:37place. In a separate briefing, Senator Joel Villanueva says he believes Escudero currently
00:42has enough support. Meantime, opposition Senator Risa Ontiveros expresses her desire to become
00:48the minority leader, but admits she does not have enough support.
