00:14The newly elected Senators of the Republic, honored guests, good afternoon.

00:21We, the Chairman and the Commissioners of the Commission on Elections,

00:25sitting en banc as the National Board of Canvassers of the May 12, 2025, national and local elections,

00:35do hereby proclaim Vicente Castelo Soto III, a Senator-Elect,

00:43to serve for a term of six years, ending on June 30, 2031,

00:51in accordance with Section 4, Article 6 of the Constitution of the Republic of the Philippines.

00:58Given this 17th day of May, 2025, in the City of Manila, Philippines,

01:52kabilang na ang kanyang lolo, na si dating Sen. Vicente Yax Soto.

01:581988, nang manalo siya bilang Vice Mayor ng Quezon City.

02:02At noong 1992 elections, nalo siya bilang Senador.

02:06Sa kabuhuan po, nakaapat na termino na siya bilang Senador.

02:11Naging Senate President siya noong 2018,

02:13at pitingnan natin kung this incoming Congress ay siya ang upo.

02:18Noong 2022, nang sumubok siya ang tumakua sa pagka Vice President,

02:22pero hindi siya pinalad doon.

02:23So ngayon iniintay natin yung kanyang pamilya na umaki sa stage

02:28para naman sa kanilang photo opportunity.

02:31At nakita nga natin kanina na kasama niya yung kanyang mga anak,

02:34kasama si Vice Mayor ng Quezon City, Guillain Soto.

02:39At isa si Sen. Soto.

02:41Siya yung pinakamaraming boto doon sa mga administration ticket.

02:45Oh, number 5 siya sa Luzon.

02:48At number 11 sa Visayas.

02:50So, ang nakita tayo ng interview sa kanya,

02:54yung slate nila was hoping at least 8 to 9,

02:57pero ang namanage nila ay 6 na prosesor.

03:02So ito po yung pamilya ni Sen. Soto.

04:54and principally authored

04:58that improved and elevated

04:59the lives of the Filipinos.

05:03In this fifth term,

05:05I will exercise oversight

05:08on existing laws

05:10to ensure

05:11that it is properly implemented.

05:15I will make sure

05:16that the budget of the government

05:19is used correctly.

05:21And most of all,

05:23I will make certain

05:25to restore

05:26the good image,

05:27integrity,

05:28and independence

05:29of the institution.
