00:00NFL MVP odds here on the final day of the final month without an NFL game until March of 2026.
00:08The RS, the individual component, of course, that will highlight team success.
00:12The MVP race as we see it right here, right now for the 2025 NFL campaign.
00:18Lamar Jackson won the award two years ago.
00:20Many thought he had a better statistical year even than his MVP award-winning season of 2023,
00:26the second of his career last year, and yet Josh Allen edged him out for the first MVP trophy of his career.
00:34Jackson, the favorite, entering 2025, 5-1.
00:38Allen at 6-1.
00:39Patrick Mahomes at plus 600 as well.
00:43And there is Joe Burrow at a 6-1 price tied for the second best number alongside Allen and Mahomes.
00:50Jaden Daniels after cruising to NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in a historic campaign, both individually and for his team in Washington.
00:59Fifth best price at plus 850.
01:02The RS, whether it be the top five or anybody else on the right side of that graphic, where do you think the value might lie in the MVP odds?
01:10By the way, it is interesting to see, like, after the season that Jalen Hurts had, right?
01:13Because so much was placed on, like, Saquon Barkley, and a lot will be placed on him again this year.
01:18But I think he now moves up in credibility.
01:20Super Bowl champion, Super Bowl MVP, where if he leads the Eagles, let's just say it again, they have such a tough schedule, which is going to help him out, to be honest.
01:28He's going to have a lot of primetime games against a lot of really good opponents, where you could say, like, hey, he might be the catalyst for this team.
01:34And if they do wind up with the best record in the NFC, he's probably going to win the MVP.
01:38Because you're just saying, you know what, you have the pedigree now on your side.
01:41Now, coming into the season, I wonder what we got out of Jalen Hurts.
01:44Had a great season last year, elevated himself in the playoffs, Super Bowl champion, Super Bowl MVP.
01:49You're sort of getting that bump.
01:50It's like when I always talk about, like, let's just say the MVP in the NBA, Ben, right?
01:53You say you got to have a year or two under your belt as an MVP catalyst here before you can win it, and you get that respect, and he might get that.
02:00So let's get back to the favorites here, right?
02:02Lamar Jackson is always going to be up there.
02:04Do I think Lamar Jackson wins it?
02:05Not necessarily.
02:06That's a really good team, and sometimes, again, MVP fatigue starts to settle in.
02:11Well, hey, this guy won one before.
02:12Let's give it to somebody else.
02:13Josh Allen, of course, always up there.
02:15Patrick Mahomes up there.
02:16I don't want him at 6-1 because it doesn't feel like the Patrick Mahomes years of, I need to throw for 50-plus touchdowns are still there.
02:23He's going to put up good statistics.
02:24They're going to have a very good record.
02:26He's going to be there.
02:27But no longer do I fear Patrick Mahomes.
02:28Like, well, he's going to run away and throw 10 more touchdown passes than anybody else in the NFL.
02:33The interesting one, to be honest to me, is Joe Burrow because if we're factoring in, that offense should hum, and it should.
02:40Does he get bonus points because he has to score 30-plus points a game?
02:44Now, we're being facetious.
02:46Again, the defense is going to be probably decent at this point, even though we're expecting it not to be great.
02:51But how many points does he have to put up?
02:52But also, the detriment of, can you be an MVP if your team wins 10 games or 9 games, but you were the complete catalyst and the only reason why you're in the playoffs is you were there?
03:02That's a question mark.
03:03But Justin Herbert, I see it's a 20-1 price.
03:05Stop it.
03:06Like, a hardball quarterback is not getting that.
03:08His perfect scenario is 17-14 where the quarterback throws a touchdown pass and manages that game really well.
03:15Herbert's an unbelievable talent, but he's not going to realize his, hey, I can be a 5,000-yard passer with 50 touchdown passes not happening.
03:23Jaden Daniels coming off that unbelievable rookie season does make some sense.
03:26But I think we are looking at, Ben, the first four there.
03:29Jackson, Allen, Mahomes, and Burrow being legitimate, which again, Jalen Hurts at 20-1 is interesting.
03:35That tough schedule and his pedigree now being a champion, that's going to help him in the MVP race if things go well for the Eagles.
