00:00The Commission on Elections says Davao City Vice Mayor Sebastien Duterte automatically becomes the city's acting mayor in place of his father.

00:09This due to former President Rodrigo Duterte's incapacity to do his mayoral duties and take his oath.

00:15Duterte is currently detained by the International Criminal Court in the Netherlands.

00:19Asked if Rodrigo can still be called mayor despite not being able to take an oath or assume office,

00:24Kamalik Chairman George Garcia says he is still mayor-elect.

00:27Garcia adds, Sebastien will assume the mayoral post in an acting capacity unless this incapacity becomes permanent incapacity.

00:35Interior Secretary John Vic Remulia also confirms this, saying Sebastien no longer needs to go through any process to become acting mayor.

00:43The DILG will inform him of his duty.

00:45When the former President was arrested in March, he was already a candidate for Davao City Mayor.

00:50Duterte's name remained on the ballot as there were no Kamalik decision that would affect his candidacy in any way.

00:56It is still being debated whether or not Duterte can take his oath of office abroad.
