00:00After another campaign defined by near misses and bold ambition,
00:07Arsenal head into the new season determined to convert promise into trophies.
00:13Under Mikel Arteta, the Gunners have built a clear identity,
00:15a fluid, high-intensity style led by a young, hungry core.
00:20Now the goal is simple, go one better.
00:23Fitness and rotation remain major talking points.
00:26Last season's title challenge was dented by ultim timely injuries and crucial areas,
00:32exposing a lack of depth in the final stretch.
00:35Addressing that issue is potential to Arsenal possibly competing across the Premier League
00:40and Champions League without a burnout.
00:43This summer isn't about wholesale changes, it's about refining a contender into a champion.
00:50Arsenal believe they're close and every move this window will be made with precision.
00:54We spoke to Jacobella of London World to unpack the Gunners' evolving transfer strategy,
01:01which positions are under scrutiny and whether Arsenal's side can finally take that step
01:07that has eluded them and bring the Premier League crown back to North London.
01:11And, you know, we've obviously mentioned the striker situation, the number nine, the lack of goals.
01:21Who do they go for in the summer?
01:23Who, you know, is that still the solution to this?
01:26And obviously, if they are to get a world-class number nine in an ideal world,
01:31does Arteta then run out of excuses if they aren't delivering?
01:34If he does find a, you know, 15, 20 goal a season in the Premier League striker,
01:40they've got to go all the way, you feel?
01:44Yeah, absolutely.
01:45I mean, we mentioned, you know, briefly earlier January,
01:48and I think a lot of Arsenal fans were upset that Arsenal didn't go and sign a striker there.
01:53I think, you know, what's becoming maybe increasingly clear is, you know,
01:56at that time, Arsenal didn't have a permanent sporting director.
01:59So, Jason Ato was in on a temporary basis after Edu left.
02:03And I think while signing a striker would have helped push for maybe the Champions League
02:09in the Premier League at that point,
02:10maybe the right thing to do was to wait for the sporting director to come in and go again this season.
02:16You know, Arsenal fans won't be happy with that.
02:17But now, Andrea Berta is in.
02:21He's an experienced sporting director from Atletico Madrid.
02:23And I think, you know, by all accounts, it looks like he's ready to come in and make a real statement
02:29and back Arteta.
02:31Who do we want?
02:32Well, look, Arteta loves Alexander Isak.
02:35That's been widely reported.
02:38That's going to be a pretty impossible get, I'd imagine,
02:41especially if Newcastle get Champions League.
02:43You know, if Newcastle beat Arsenal at the Emirates at the weekend,
02:48then, you know, they will look favourites to go second place as well.
02:52So whether Isak would even want to leave is another question altogether.
02:56It looks as if Victor Jocheres is the number one target.
03:01Andrea Berta has made it very clear that he's a big fan of the Sporting Lisbon striker,
03:07who, you know, scored 95 goals in 100 games for Sporting Lisbon.
03:12Obviously, you know, that league is slightly different to the Premier League.
03:15We know it's not as strong, but, you know, those numbers still,
03:18you can't turn your nose up at that.
03:19So if Arsenal go out and get a Jocheres or a Benjamin Sesko,
03:24I think, especially if Arsenal get Jocheres, who's, you know,
03:29looks to be a proven goalscorer, I think it will be played as the final piece
03:34of the puzzle for Arteta.
03:37And, yeah, without, with a big centre forward, it does, yeah, it seems like you say that will be the final piece of the puzzle
03:45and the pressure will be on Arteta to deliver.
03:49Now, whether or not Jocheres is Arteta's dream signing is another conversation.
03:53But, yeah, I think you're right.
03:55That's also, you know, you have to bear in mind, we have to try and keep all the players this window as well.
03:59I think if Arsenal maintain their squad, I can't really see anyone leaving,
04:03but Real Madrid have looked at William Saliba.
04:06If that was to happen, then suddenly you've got another situation that you need to fix at the back.
04:10And, you know, if Arsenal can keep hold of this current squad and sign a top striker in Europe,
04:15then, yeah, I mean, they need another winger as well.
04:19But, yeah, they've got a really good chance.
04:21And then pressure really will start to mount on Arteta around Arsenal to get a big trophy over the line.
04:27That would have played a part as well.
04:29There's been injuries to Saka and Odegaard and Gabriel, the centre back as well.
04:33So that has played a part.
04:34But really, I think the main thing is we've just drawn too many games and lacked that firepower up top,
04:40which maybe Arsenal will rectify in the summer window.
