Taiwan and the United Kingdom have signed a landmark three-pillar trade deal in Taipei focusing on digital trade, energy cooperation and investment opportunities. It was attended by British trade minister Douglas Alexander, who also met with President Lai Ching-te.

00:11It was signed by the UK's representative at the British office Taipei and by Taiwan's representative to the UK.
00:17British Trade Minister Douglas Alexander attended the signing.
00:21And on Monday, Alexander also met with President Leichingde at the presidential office.
