00:00Hey, we're Twin Tribes. I'm Joel. And I'm Luis. We're out here on the Darker Skies Tour 2025.
00:17Yes, and we just played the Vampires Ball in Chicago.
00:20And we just released a new album that we're kind of touring behind too, Pendulum.
00:24So, here's where we're at. Come check out our van.
00:27Welcome to the driver's area. We all drive, take turns. We do two hours. So, it's not really that rough, you know?
00:37Yeah, yeah. Right now, we have a crew of about six people. So, you know, sometimes you don't drive for a day, which is always really nice.
00:44And we're all pretty much fresh. You know, try to stay safe as much as we can.
00:51Yeah, and after you finish your two-hour shift, you get to go to the back and take a nap.
00:56Yeah, and we'll show you the bed that we have, makeshift bed that we have there in a moment.
01:00But, yeah, you know, music-wise, we're always playing different stuff.
01:05We try to keep it random, you know, for the most part, and everybody has their taste.
01:09So, at some point, you'll hear, you know, goth, emo, country at some point, trance, 90's techno.
01:1890's techno. Yeah, we're just, you know, constantly changing it up.
01:21Yeah, so whoever's driving gets to choose what we're going to listen to. And, you know, we hear a bunch of podcasts, you know, talk to Jericho and, you know, kiss stuff.
01:32Yeah, we like to listen to Ace Freely talk on Sirius XM. That's always fun for us. So, that's definitely a van staple.
01:43Usually, you know, if we do have like an overnight drive or one that, for example, when we just did from Minneapolis here to Chicago, we had to be here really early, so we left like at 3 or 4 in the morning.
01:54So, we had one of the crew members go home, you know, call it early the day before, rest up as much as you can while the rest of us stick behind and do the show.
02:05And then, he's the first driver. And then, everybody else kind of takes turns in the van, gets their sleep in, and then switch.
02:11We actually got our turns then, right? Yeah, yeah. I got to, you know, drive like at 6 in the morning, kind of.
02:18But usually, it's not that bad. You know, it's usually 4 or 6 hour drives. At least we try to do that. But, yeah, it's just one of those special occasions.
02:28Yeah, and you do your best to kind of like, curate your playlist to make those 2 hours really fast for you. So, you know, it's not too much of a problem.
02:39Plus, Red Bull, you know, kind of is coursing through my veins most of the time. So, I make it through.
02:45So, I got this flask right here. This hydro flask is our tour manager's Alejandro's.
02:50And this is always falling all over the place. Yeah.
02:54It's always rolling around, and it's not that great.
02:57Yeah, we've threatened to throw that in like a nearby river at some points, but that would be a detriment to the local fish and wildlife.
03:05So, you know, we just kind of keep it here. Kind of like a cursed flask that always is banging around for us, you know.
03:14Yes.
03:15At least it keeps us alive. You know, we got vitamins here, probiotics. As you get older, you're going to want to use these, yeah?
03:23Keep your stomach kind of on the daily. Doing well. And then we've got our batteries here.
03:32Yeah. What are those? Nine volts for Joel's base? And I don't know. These are for the Game Boy.
03:39Oh.
03:40For the Game Boy. I mean, that's really it. Napkins. I always got to keep napkins.
03:45You know, sometimes we'll do DoorDash or we'll go to a drive-thru and they don't give you napkins.
03:52So, like, we try to stock up wherever we go. Look, there's Starbucks. Starbucks napkins, you know. Branded. Oh, no.
03:59Yeah. So, we kind of take turns and we have this little kind of shift going on. So, you finish driving, you get to go to the back.
04:09Yeah, come on in, man. And you get to take a little nap. But, yeah, it's usually two and the person's sleeping somewhere.
04:20Yeah, yeah. We got two, four, five, six. Yeah. Driver always gets the makeshift bed at the end of their drive as a reward.
04:32Reward, you know. Gotta keep the morale high. Fruity Pebbles blanket keeps you warmer while you think of some cereals.
04:45And, yeah, like, we got all this. Again, just everybody compiling different blankets into here and luxurious pillow just to keep you kind of comfy as you're out there.
04:57And blankets and neck pillows everywhere. Mix nuts galore. All the mix nuts you'll ever want.
05:05Yeah, there's a tower of vinyl here that sometimes falls on you. Yeah.
05:10You just have to be careful with this. But, for the most part, you're good. A bunch of waters here that we got at some point from a green room.
05:19And a mannequin head. A mannequin head here for caps. Also a good safety device. You can use that for protection. You can just bonk somebody with it.
05:28Right. Exactly. It is not Tito's, actually. Yeah, no. The Canadian government will frown upon that. We're about to head over there.
05:36That's just, you know, I think merch. More merch. Yeah. It's like starter. The markers and all that shit's in there. So, that's what we have in there.
05:46Under the seat is probably the grossest part of the van. You have Alejandro's van. Sorry, his flip-flops that are all over the place. Long Beach Boy.
05:55Yeah, very smelly. Yeah, totally. We got Joel's dirty laundry here. Yep, yep. I'll probably just put it back in there.
06:02Yeah, you know, it doesn't smell that bad down there, considering, right? But you do keep it under the seat to protect the nostrils.
06:12Alright, let's check out the back. Yeah, you know, right now it's pretty empty, right? We kind of calculated it for us to, like, go into Canada with as little as possible.
06:23So, you know, all the merch is kind of gone. But, normally, this would be all the way up to the roof. More merch on top of there.
06:33But, yeah, you know, we travel light for the most part. Yeah. Yeah. Oasis, our merch guy, is the Tetris King. He's not here right now.
06:42But, usually, he's the guy that, you know, sets everything up in a really amazing way and has to take a picture of it.
06:51Yeah. He makes it work. Like, it's very interesting how he gets it done. But, man, as you can see, even just seeing this area right here, look how perfectly everything's kind of put together.
07:03You know, very little wasted space. So, that's on Oasis there. Right. And, yeah, you know, luggage.
07:11And, we also should mention that this Sprinter is a luxury for us because, honestly, this is still very new.
07:20Yeah, man. We used to travel in a minivan. And, same thing. Always stocked up to the gills, you know. You're in the back seat.
07:27With only three spots. Only three spots. So, it was only three of us back then. And, we're like, Brad, a crew of six now.
07:32But, you know, you've got your elbow up to here. You've got maybe a guitar kind of in your ribs a little bit.
07:38But, now, you know, seven years later, here we are. Kind of like doing a little better and get to rent a pretty cool van and, you know, travel the country.
07:50Yeah. And, you don't get to, you know, experience crappy stuff on the road like your van breaking down.
07:57Yeah. You get assistance if you do. I remember we fucking totally messed up Luis's car when we first started.
08:04Oh, yeah. We totally messed up the suspension or something or the transmission of my old Nissan Juke.
08:10Yeah. We strapped, like, a bunch of gear to the top of it. And, I guess, like, the pool of it kind of, like, just screwed up this whole thing.
08:19Not to mention when it rained. All the rain kind of went into the car. So, that was fun, too.
08:25Yeah. So, don't worry. We've fucking, you know, paid our dues to get here, right?
08:29Yeah. There's hope. There's hope for your bands out there.
08:32Again, thanks for checking us out. Come in and seeing our van. We're Twin Tribes. I'm Joel.
08:37I'm Luis. And, again, you know, out here promoting our latest release pendulum.
08:44You can find our music on Spotify. You can come out to future tour dates at TwinTribes.com.
08:51And, we hope to see you at a show.
