Kolkata (West Bengal), June 29, 2025 (ANI): TMC leader Kunal Ghosh lashed out at the BJP over the alleged Kolkata gang-rape case, urging them to first address the rape incidents in the states ruled by their own party. Responding to BJP’s criticism, Ghosh said, “Ask about rape cases in their states first,” He said “First answer for Unnao, Hathras, Prayagraj, Madhya Pradesh, Bilkis in Gujarat, Manipur, Tripura, and Delhi, all places where incidents of rape or rape-related crimes against women have occurred one after another. First, ask them to give an account of what has happened in these states before they talk about Bengal. In Bengal, police take action. Crimes here have reduced, and it is one of the safest states for women. Whenever any crime happens, the state police act promptly. Arrests are made.”
