00:00My problem is that not enough people really know me, but that's about to change.
00:04Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the iconic Nickelodeon
00:09actors who haven't had the same level of fame since leaving the network.
00:13Ross, come say hi. Get in here.
00:15I'm not dressed for it.
00:16Ross Hall, everybody.
00:18Number 20. Brian Hearn.
00:21After getting his start in 2001 films Poodie Tang and Hardball, Hearn was snapped up by
00:27Nickelodeon and became a cast member in the sketch show All That in 2002. However, Hearn's
00:33journey in the Orange Network wasn't all that smooth.
00:36Dan's presence in the room could change the vibe of the room. Everybody would kind of just
00:41be like, okay, shut up.
00:43In interviews, he's spoken about how demeaning skits on Nick shows, such as being covered
00:49in peanut butter and having it licked off by dogs, weren't discussed beforehand. On top
00:54of that, Hearn also experienced racist abuse, such as being referred to by a Nickelodeon
00:59employee as, quote, a piece of charcoal.
01:02Someone said the skin tone should be charcoal. I started to get teary-eyed.
01:11Hearn's last acting job was in 2015. Instead, he's been working on music and poetry and became
01:18co-CEO of non-profit group Urban Poets Society.
01:23Number 19. Jenna Morrison.
01:26In the early 2000s, the phrase, I like eggs, spread through schools in the U.S. and abroad.
01:31And we can all thank, or blame, Morrison for that.
01:35Debbie got you a dozen eggs for your birthday?
01:38What is missing?
01:40I couldn't help myself. He's so cute.
01:43Playing the lovable but not-too-bright Debbie in The Amanda Show, the girls' room standout
01:49was a fan favorite. Yet, after leaving the show, Morrison essentially dropped out of
01:54the industry. She has made a couple of screen acting roles over the years, the most recent
01:58in Twinsmith's 2015 music video, Said and Done.
02:02Instead, Morrison has found less famous work, most recently working for an outdoor adventures
02:15firm in California.
02:17Number 18. Tague Kelly.
02:20Tague Kelly appeared in all three seasons of Unfabulous, which aired on Nickelodeon in the
02:24mid-2000s.
02:25Hello. Oh, hi, Tara. No, Ben can't talk. He's in the bathroom counting his chest hairs. Three
02:33more than last week.
02:34Give me that, you little...
02:36Despite its name, the show was fabulous, as it kick-started Emma Roberts' career and
02:42became one of the most popular shows in the country, amongst the young teenage demographic.
02:46So it's the first day of school, and I'm totally excited. I changed a lot over the summer.
02:51It's hard to explain. I'm just... different.
03:00Tague Kelly played Ben Singer, Emma Roberts' older brother. Unfortunately, he did not share
03:06her post Unfabulous success, at least not in front of the camera. While he has continued
03:13acting, he hasn't appeared in much of note. His IMDb filmography lists him as a production
03:18assistant on various shows, such as Chicken Girls and a couple small roles in some shorts.
03:24Is it gonna hurt?
03:26Shouldn't hurt that bad.
03:28It's just so, like, permanent.
03:31Well, exactly.
03:33Number 17. Josh Serverer
03:35Josh Serverer was yet another All That cast member, and the only one to remain throughout
03:39the first six original seasons.
03:42Man, Walter, get those frisbees outta here.
03:44Hey, too bad I'm Walter like that.
03:47Man, beat it, pizza face.
03:48After his success on All That, Serverer appeared on Figure It Out and played a few bit roles
03:54in shows like Kenan and Kel and The Amanda Show. However, his vigorous career quickly deflated,
03:59and Serverer was resorted to single-episode appearances in various series and several reunion specials.
04:06In 2018, he appeared as a contestant on all-new Double Dare and played Mr. McConnor in an episode
04:12of Game Shakers.
04:14Geez, I've never seen a kid who couldn't peel their own banana.
04:17Stop!
04:19Burn so hard, it's so hard, it burns!
04:21Number 16. David Lasher
04:23Before he was stealing the hearts of the audience on Sabrina the Teenage Witch as Josh,
04:29Lasher got his start on the Nickelodeon TV show Hey Dude in 1989, playing the role of Ted
04:34McGriff, the troublemaking yet endearing employee on the ranch. Lasher briefly left the show
04:40before making a triumphant return until it ended in 1991.
04:44Oh, hey.
04:45If it isn't the senior staff infection.
04:47Oh, cute. So you wanna see how it's done?
04:50How what's done?
04:52Riding. Real Western riding.
04:54Fans of Hey Dude might be delighted to know that Lasher had a real-life relationship with
04:58a cast member. But rather than it being with Kelly Brown's Brad, who his character was
05:03typically interested in, it was with Melody's actor, Christine Taylor.
05:07With you holding the rope, I've got a shot. Without you, who knows?
05:13In recent years, Lasher still gets occasional work as an actor, including an appearance in
05:192023 on the TV show The Other Two.
05:22Number 15. Matthew Underwood
05:25As soon as Logan was introduced in 2005's Zoey 101, his arrogant and misogynistic personality
05:31made him one of the show's biggest villains.
05:34Uh, ladies, it's really cute that you wanna try out?
05:38But there's no girls team at PCA.
05:40So we'll try out for the guys team.
05:42Yeah.
05:43It doesn't work that way.
05:44Sorry.
05:45Yet over time, due to Underwood's great work, a nicer side began to emerge.
05:50After the series ended in 2008, Underwood appeared in one production before leaving the industry.
05:56He re-emerged in 2017, leading to him reprising his Logan role in 2023's Zoey 102.
06:03Look at me. I love you.
06:07I love you too.
06:08So stop thinking about the wedding for like one second and have some fun with me, okay?
06:13In 2024, Underwood explained on social media why there was an acting gap on his resume.
06:18When he was a teenager, he was harassed and assaulted by his agent, who Underwood later
06:24reported and who was fired.
06:26Due to the trauma and other horrible experiences in his childhood, Underwood walked away from
06:31Hollywood for years.
06:34Number 14.
06:35Sean O'Neill
06:36With neon hats, a skateboard, and teenage lingo, Sam was everything 90s in Clarissa Explains
06:43It All.
06:43Played by O'Neill, Sam was Clarissa's best friend.
06:46The BFF that, even today, we wish we had.
06:51Hi, Sam.
06:56What's up?
06:58Watching TV?
06:59O'Neill's work as Sam even led to him being nominated for two Young Artist Awards.
07:04Yet after the show ended in 1994, O'Neill has only made sporadic appearances on screen since.
07:10I'm splitting if you're gonna be like that.
07:13Sorry, this No TV thing has got me a little on the edge.
07:16Just gotta chill out.
07:18Try some new software or something.
07:20The last acting credit he received was as a party guest in 2016's Penumbra.
07:25There was talk of rebooting Clarissa Explains It All.
07:28However, in 2022, title star Melissa Joan Hart confirmed the plan was called off.
07:34Number 13, Vanessa Baden.
07:37Getting her start in Nickelodeon and acting in general with a role in 1994's My Brother
07:42and Me, Baden soon transitioned to the network's Nick Jr. branch with the musical series Gullah
07:48Gullah Island.
07:49The child star then joined the cast of Kenan and Kel, playing Kenan's sister and Kel's biggest
07:55fan, Kyra.
07:56Thanks for bringing me to the party, Kel.
07:58I didn't.
07:59Oh, I can't feel my arms.
08:01After Kenan and Kel finished in 2000, Baden took a long break from screen acting, only returning
08:08in 2011.
08:09But during that time, she led campaigns and movements.
08:13Baden's acting return led her to the web series Giants, which earned her a Daytime Emmy
08:18in 2019.
08:19Find a good balance, find a place where you can still pursue your dream, but that you're
08:25also able to maintain peace in all things.
08:28Beyond acting, Baden has taken up writing, even becoming an executive story editor for
08:33Justin Noble and Mindy Kaling's The Sex Lives of College Girls.
08:38Number 12, Mike C. Morona.
08:40With quirky, surreal humor and a theme of brothers growing up into adults, The Adventures of Pete
08:46and Pete originally ran as shorts, until its popularity turned it into a full-blown series.
08:52And in the role of Big Pete for three seasons and many specials was Morona.
08:57I can handle the boredom.
09:00It's the loneliness of the open road that gets to me.
09:02You might also know him for his role as Jeff McAllister in the Home Alone franchise.
09:08I don't know how to pack a suitcase.
09:10I've never done this once in my whole life.
09:12Tough.
09:12That's what Megan said.
09:14What did I say?
09:15You told Kevin tough.
09:17Yet, even with that success, Morona struggled for consistent acting work.
09:21Eventually, he became a set electrician.
09:24Under this job title, Morona worked on many productions, including 2008's Sex and the City
09:30movie, 2012's Men in Black 3, and several Netflix MCU shows.
09:36Morona also had a cameo with his Nickelodeon brother, Danny Tamberelli, for 2024's I Saw the
09:42TV Glow.
09:42Number 11.
09:44Danny Tamberelli
09:45Danny Tamberelli is another Nickelodeon veteran.
09:48He starred as Little Pete in The Adventures of Pete and Pete, and became a cast member alongside
09:53Lori Beth Denberg on All That and Figure It Out.
09:58Unfortunately, not much became of Danny after that.
10:02Aside from providing the voice of Jimmy in Grand Theft Auto V, Tamberelli has stayed away
10:06from the camera, instead opting to play bass and sing in his band, Jones, who are still
10:12touring as of 2018.
10:13He has stayed in touch with Pete and Pete co-star Michael Morona in the film I Saw the
10:18TV Glow and through the podcast The Adventures of Danny and Mike.
10:23So hit that up if you're feeling nostalgic.
10:25Number 10.
10:26Lindsay Felton
10:27In 2000, Nickelodeon dropped Caitlin's Way, a gem of a show with Felton playing a troubled
10:33teen who struggled with losing her mother and having to move to a rural town in Montana.
10:38I'm sorry, you are Caitlin Seeger.
10:43Yet after three seasons, the series came to an end in 2002.
10:47From there, Felton didn't get regular work in the industry beyond occasional guest roles
10:52in shows like Orange is the New Black.
10:54What do you have?
10:58This.
10:59I'm buying you a drink.
11:01Her last acting job came in a 2015 short film.
11:04After finding work as a bartender, in 2024, Felton announced on social media that she'd
11:10been diagnosed with breast cancer.
11:13Her mom created a GoFundMe to help with the costs.
11:16Thankfully, by the end of 2024, Felton announced she'd finished her radiation treatment.
11:22Number 9.
11:23Angelique Bates
11:24In 1994, All That debuted on Nickelodeon, with Bates as a cast member.
11:30Moms tend to overlook the benefits of chocolate.
11:32Mainly that it tastes very, very good.
11:36Oh!
11:38Yet two years later, she became the show's first original member to depart.
11:43During the 2000s and into the 2010s, Bates didn't get much work beyond occasional guest
11:49roles in shows.
11:50But there was a good reason for that.
11:52Bates has spoken several times about the abuse she sustained from Dan Schneider on the All That
11:57set.
11:58Dan flew off the handle, completely flew off the handle, was yelling at me.
12:04Just, I can't even begin to tell you what he was saying.
12:06I don't even remember, but he was yelling at the top of his lungs.
12:09She had difficult personal experiences after leaving the show.
12:13Bates wanted to help others who'd experienced similar circumstances,
12:16so she became an advocate for survivors.
12:19In recent years, she's stepped back into acting and comedy, with roles in 2020's Puzzled and
12:252024's Her Name is Rochelle.
12:28Number 8.
12:29Robert Pinkston
12:30Known for having an incredible hairstyle, Coconut Head on Ned's Declassified School
12:35Survival Guide was a dorky, lovable legend.
12:38Jennifer!
12:39Hi!
12:41Sorry.
12:42I've got problems of my own.
12:43Fun fact, his iconic hair was a wig, not actor Robert Pinkston's own.
12:48As well as working at Nickelodeon, the actor appeared on the practical joke show Punk'd,
12:53getting famously chased by Serena Williams.
12:55After the Nick show finished, Pinkston got work in 2008's Extreme Movie.
13:01Since then, he's mostly stepped away from acting.
13:04Pinkston has worked for various media companies and foundations behind the scenes.
13:08After working at Riot Games for several years, in 2024, he became their global broadcast producer.
13:16But he still makes time for his former colleagues,
13:18by appearing occasionally in the Ned's Declassified Podcast Survival Guide.
13:23When you auditioned for the role, there was like a disclaimer, like,
13:25you have to be willing to shave your hair off,
13:27because we're gonna shave your head and make it like, awkward and rough,
13:31like the outside of a Coconut, like that hairy kind of weirdness.
13:33Number 7. Sean Flynn
13:36Zoey 101 is undoubtedly one of the most popular shows in Nickelodeon history.
13:40It consistently scored high ratings,
13:42and was even nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Children's Program.
13:47Are you okay?
13:48Uh, yeah, I was just, uh...
13:52Checking the flag.
13:54You would think that starring in it would serve as a major launchpad for promising careers.
13:59Sean Flynn starred as Chase Matthews, the first person that Zoey meets at the Academy.
14:10Unfortunately, Flynn's post-Zoey career hasn't been spectacular.
14:14He appeared in a film called Return of the Killer Shrews,
14:17a couple of episodes of Lifetime's Devious Maids,
14:20and a few movies you've likely never heard of.
14:22And he did rejoin his co-stars for Zoey 102.
14:25Number 6. Christina Vidal
14:28Acting debuts don't come much bigger than Vidal's.
14:32In 1993, she appeared in Life with Mikey,
14:35becoming the first Puerto Rican-American child actress
14:38to have a lead role in an American film.
14:41Get away from me with that. I'm about to have breakfast.
14:44Vidal's next big break would come in the title role for Nickelodeon's Taina,
14:48with dreams of being a singer and actor.
14:51She would follow this up with 2003's Freaky Friday as Pink Slip's lead vocalist.
15:04From there, Vidal popped up in many TV productions,
15:08such as House, ER, and Castle.
15:10In 2017, Vidal had a career resurgence with a leading role in 2017's TV sequel, Training Day,
15:17With further work in 2021's The Guilty and 2023 series Primo,
15:23Vidal has more to look forward to with the 2025 release of Freakier Friday.
15:28Number 5. Lori Beth Denberg
15:31Lori Beth Denberg was an original cast member of All That,
15:35the sketch show which has already made appearances on this list.
15:38Never go up to the meanest, toughest kid in school and say,
15:42Hey, girly boy, beat me up. Beat me up real bad.
15:46All That was a sketch variety show, similar to Saturday Night Live,
15:50except for a younger audience, which ran for 10 seasons between 1994 and 2005.
15:56If you're a guy, and you take your grandmother to the school dance,
16:00don't yell,
16:01Hey everybody, look at me, I'm at the school dance with my grandmother, woo!
16:06She subsequently starred as a panelist on Figure It Out,
16:10a show where Nickelodeon celebrity judges tried to guess a child's secret talent.
16:14She also had a regular part on The Steve Harvey Show.
16:17Since that time, Denberg is seemingly chillin', mostly.
16:21In 2012, she filmed a brief cameo for Workaholics,
16:25and recently appeared alongside her All That castmates for a reunion on MTV's improv show,
16:30Wild N' Out.
16:31I got some vital information for you.
16:33I'm high as f***ing.
16:35Denberg is also among the former child stars who have made allegations about Dan Schneider in recent years.
16:48Number 4, Irene Ning.
16:51Irene Ning played the ambitious overachiever Shelby Wu on Nickelodeon's The Mystery Files of Shelby Wu,
16:56which aired for four seasons between 1996 and 1998.
17:02Shelby, look what Whistler's Dairy just sent us for crafting that case last week.
17:09Oh, a cheese gift perk.
17:13Well, I guess it's the thought that counts.
17:15After a few guest roles, including on Figure It Out,
17:18Irene retired from acting and focused on her schooling.
17:21Maybe my problem was the crime hit close to home.
17:24Apparently, Irene Ning is quite the achiever herself,
17:28as she graduated from Harvard and went on to work as a banker for Merrill Lynch.
17:33You wouldn't believe all the stuff I get to do.
17:35According to her Wikipedia page,
17:37Irene has since left the banking biz behind,
17:39and is now a Mandarin Chinese teacher at a preschool she founded with her family.
17:44Number 3, Ross Hull.
17:46If you're a Canadian weather fan, you know exactly what Hull is up to nowadays.
17:50The actor got his big break in 1992 with the Nickelodeon horror anthology series,
17:55Are You Afraid of the Dark?
17:57Playing the role of Gary, the leader of the Midnight Society,
18:00he gathered a legion of fans during his time there,
18:03which ended in 1996 with the series cancellation.
18:06Oh man, give her a break.
18:09Keep going, bet.
18:10Yeah, what kind of strange stuff happened inside the ride?
18:13Hull was then cast as a leading role in the Canadian show Student Bodies.
18:17Yet after that ended in 2000, he only made sporadic appearances on screen,
18:23so Hull studied meteorology.
18:25Later, he got work as a weather reporter on several channels.
18:2810 to 11 degrees tomorrow morning.
18:30Do be prepared for some of those showers.
18:32They should start to clear up by the afternoon.
18:35This led to Hull working on Global News,
18:37where he's one of their most recognizable faces.
18:40Number 2, Kyle Sullivan.
18:42After building his acting CV with several roles in 2000,
18:47Sullivan appeared in a couple of episodes of The Amanda Show.
18:50From there, he joined All That, becoming one of its prominent members.
18:55I ask you, have you been throwing eggs at cars?
19:00Don't they?
19:01There is nothing funny about throwing an egg on an automobile.
19:04This led to work on Malcolm in the Middle and The War at Home.
19:08But after the latter finished in 2007, Sullivan departed acting.
19:12Instead, he got a college degree and later worked for the venture capital firm Rainfall Ventures.
19:18During the quiet on set, the dark side of kids' TV documentary,
19:23Sullivan made a rare public appearance.
19:25He detailed attending a party with convicted offender and former acting coach Brian Peck.
19:30Sullivan found evidence that Peck was pen pals with the notorious serial killer John Wayne Gacy.

19:51You have the option to be notified for occasional videos or all of them.
19:55If you're on your phone, make sure you go into your settings and switch on notifications.
19:591. Jamie Lynn Spears
20:03It's tough following an older sibling's success.
20:11It's even tougher for Jamie Lynn Spears, who has been overshadowed by her older sister her whole life.
20:17What are you doing?
20:19I'm giving out the final award.
20:21Well, isn't this a lot of pressure and stuff? Do you want me to help you out?
20:25Nonetheless, she found significant success playing Zoe on Zoe 101.
20:29Only to have that momentum disappear when she announced that she was pregnant at 16.
20:34The news generated significant controversy,
20:36as Spears was criticized for supposedly betraying Zoe's innocent ideals and good girl tendencies.
20:42I was the baby of the family having a baby.
20:44So for them, it was out of love.
20:46But I, you know, the reactions were exactly what I expected.
20:51Her acting career took a major hit, and she subsequently became a country singer.
20:55Her debut EP, titled The Journey, was released in May 2014 and reached number 24 on the country chart.
21:03Spears re-emerged in the acting world recently with Netflix's Sweet Magnolias
21:08and the 2023 sequel film Zoe 102, which sadly got little attention.
21:14If you could reboot any classic Nickelodeon show for the modern age,
21:18which would you pick and why?
21:20Let us know in the comments.
21:22And you don't know where you are now
21:25But what it will come to if only somebody could hear
