Poet and author celebrates launch of new book at Stourbridge venue

Katie Victoria invited friends, family and fellow authors to The Drip Coffee Company at The Bike Hub in Wollaston for a book launch.

00:00I read them in bed. I read them at school. I read them while perched on a three-legged stool.

00:06I read them with glee. I read them with chatter. I read them so much it just didn't matter.

00:11If people said, child, those books are for youth. I knew in my heart, it just wasn't the truth.

00:18Now I am taller and slightly more grown, with bills and with work and a phone of my own,

00:25but deep in my soul where the world's stories run.

00:28Full of pain.

00:32My life is like a bookshelf, sagging under the weight of stories waiting to be told.

00:42My family is like a table. It's my job to wait upon it.

00:50My mental health is like a light.
