Hi, I'm Liberty from NME and I'm here at Glastonbury 2025 with the wonderful Jade.
00:10
Hi.
00:11
So what was it like getting on the stage? I feel like it's been a long time coming for you.
00:15
I've always dreamed of doing Glastonbury but I was so nervous beforehand and I feel like
00:19
nothing prepares you for that adrenaline of the Glastonbury crowd.
00:24
Another huge artist who's performing today is Rae and of course you're going to be joining
00:28
her at all points east. Tell me how do you feel about the gig?
00:32
I'm just really proud and happy for her. I've known Rae for years now. She's written for
00:36
Little Mix before and we've always crossed paths and it's really inspiring seeing her
00:41
like receive all the flowers that she deserves.
00:44
One that I think really really stood out to fans was your set at Mighty Hoopla.
00:49
Yes, I think I've always been a bit mouthy when it comes to like things that are important.
00:54
I'm not afraid to speak up especially for the LGBTQ plus community. Yeah, I feel like
01:00
it's important now more than ever.
01:02
Would you say that untamed honesty went into the writing process for your new album?
01:08
Yeah, I think on a personal level like it's just kind of who I am to write about my personal
01:13
experiences or dark things but in a like tongue-in-cheek way and that's my sort of way of expressing myself.
01:20
Because you've of course gone from writing as part of a group to now being a solo artist.
01:25
How would you say that time in the industry has shaped the album?
01:28
It was important for me to express myself but also not be like, oh my god, like, you know,
01:34
that was the old me or, you know, this is, I'm finally being who I am because no, like,
01:39
I loved Little Mix, I loved what we stood for. So it wasn't about being like that's, you know, dead and gone.
01:44
It was about saying, you know, that was the past and I loved that but now this is the new chapter.
01:50
Okay, lovely. Thank you so much for taking the time.
01:52
Thank you. All right, cheers.
