Jeff Ament From Pearl Jam & Andrew Watt caught up with Billboard's Tetris Kelly and Rania Aniftos on the 2025 GRAMMYs red carpet.

00:00We're here with Andrew Wadden, Jeff from Pearl Jam, what an honor, I mean you guys are here

00:05nominated together, Best Rock Album, I mean the hits don't stop for you or for you, huh?

00:11Well it's amazing, we were just talking about how our band's been doing this for 34 years

00:16and Andrew's 34, so it feels like a match made in heaven.

00:23I love that, or a physical representation of the years.

00:27This is what 34 years of Pearl Jam looks like.

00:31We love that, and how was it in the studio kind of mixing those two different generations?

00:37Well I mean, Andrew knows our music better than we do in some ways, and so it was amazing,

00:45I mean it's like, the energy that was happening in the studio comes across on the record and

00:52it's why we're so proud of the record, it's because for a bunch of 60 year old guys it's

00:57pretty high energy, it's a pretty 28, 30 year old record.

01:02I mean yeah, and obviously it was received so well, I mean you're back again at the Grammys,

01:08and you Andrew have always expressed how much you love the real greats of music, I mean

01:13what was it like when you're like, okay I'm going to work with Pearl Jam today?

01:18I mean they are without question the greatest live band in music, they have been for a very

01:23very long time, no one does what they do, every single night they play a different setlist,

01:28they work on, they could be playing a song they haven't played in 20 years in a moment's

01:32notice, it's just a different level of dedication to their music, so the idea was just to get

01:38in the studio and press record, listen to them play live, it's a true live album played

01:43by live musicians.

01:44Letting the magic happen on its own.

01:45And you're going to be working with a very different legend soon, well the Muses Combination

01:49might have already worked on it, Mayhem, Gaga, so talk to me about that project, everybody's

01:52so pumped for it.

01:53I can't really say anything about that, I gotta, just uh, you'll hear some good stuff.

01:58I can tell you what he's told me.

01:59Okay, okay.

02:00I'm ready to hear first from Jeff specifically.

02:03Alright and then from the Grammys to the Oscars, what's this feel like?

02:08You know it's going to be great, it's awesome that Elton got, Elton and Brandy got nominated

02:14and it's going to be awesome for them, hopefully they can nab that one, that'll be Elton's

02:18third original song.
