Israeli protesters rally against government, urge hostage deal
Israeli anti-government protesters took to the streets of Tel Aviv on Saturday, June 28, calling for the Israeli government to end the conflict in Gaza.
Many protesters waved Israeli flags while others carried signs criticizing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's handling of pivotal issues such as bringing hostages back from Gaza and agreeing to a ceasefire.
The Gaza war began when Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, killing nearly 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and taking 251 others hostage into the enclave.
