00:00The sun blazed down on the dusty field as an old farmer worked tirelessly, his skin weathered and hands colloused from years of labor. Beside him grazed a sturdy old donkey with shaggy gray fur and tired but gentle eyes, contentedly munching on dry grass as the farmer tended to his crops.
00:20Suddenly, the farmer clutched his chest, gasping for breath. He stumbled and fell among the tall stalks of corn, groaning softly before going still. The only witness to this moment was the donkey, who immediately sensed something was wrong. The donkey's ears perked up, and he shuffled over, nudging the farmer gently with his soft nose.
00:46When there was no response, the donkey brayed loudly, a sound that echoed across the quiet fields. But the farm was remote, with no one nearby to hear. The donkey stood still for a moment, as if thinking. Then, with surprising speed for his age, he trotted toward the dirt road at the edge of the field, hooves kicking up dust.
01:10He stood squarely in the middle of the road and brayed nonstop, his voice loud and urgent, ears flicking with each sound. Minutes passed. The sun beat down, the air shimmering with heat. Just when the donkey's voice began to crack.
01:27A car approached from around a bend. A red pickup, the driver slowing in confusion at the sight of a donkey blocking the road.
01:37The driver, a man in a baseball cap, rolled down his window and leaned out.
01:43What's going on here, old fella?
01:46But the donkey wouldn't move. He brayed louder, stomping his hoof.
01:50The driver frowned, sensing something was wrong, and parked the truck.
01:56As he got out, the donkey turned and trotted back toward the field, pausing to look back and bray again.
02:04Curiosity and concern peaked.
02:06The driver followed.
02:08In the field, the driver found the farmer lying motionless among the corn.
02:13He shouted and rushed to the man's side, pulling out his phone to call for help.
02:19Soon after, an ambulance arrived, and the farmer, now conscious but weak, was lifted onto a stretcher.
02:27Through the open ambulance door, he caught sight of his donkey, standing quietly nearby, tail swishing, eyes calm.
02:36Tears welled in the farmer's eyes.
02:38You saved me? He whispered hoarsely.
02:41The paramedics smiled, one of them saying,
02:45You've got a brave one here.
02:47And so, the donkey became known as a hero in the village.
02:52Not because he was fierce or strong, but because he refused to give up when his friend needed him most.
02:59Moral of story is that, you don't need to be fierce to be courageous.
