00:00The laws of hysteria are universal. They're not just for women. Men can be hysterical too.
00:06Anyone can be hysterical. It's a human condition. I've talked about this before,
00:10but it's worth repeating because it's so important. When people get upset, their first reaction is to
00:15blame someone or something. That's the law of avoidance. Then they escalate. They become more
00:20and more upset until someone or something makes them feel better. Now, this could be a spouse,
00:25a partner, a friend, a family member, a pet, a job, a hobby, anything that takes the edge off.
00:32But eventually, when it doesn't work anymore, people end up feeling worse than they did before.
00:37And that's the law of diminishing returns. So, what do you do? You go out and you buy something new,
00:43some new shoes, a new dress, a new car, anything that will make you feel better. But guess what?
00:49It never does. And you end up feeling worse than you did before. And that's the law of sunk costs.
