00:00Liston Diario presents the editorial from the director.
00:30Example, abysmal delays in case definition, especially for those awaiting trial in pretrial
00:35detention, forcing them to languish for years without any substantial progress in
00:40their proceedings.
00:41Even worse, this lack of transparency has allowed cases to expire due to the expiration
00:46of the statute of limitations, automatically releasing convicted persons without justice
00:52being served.
00:53In this context, the implementation of the first National Prison Registry, announced
00:58yesterday by Attorney General Yeni Berenice Reynoso, appears to be an urgent and structural
01:03measure.
01:04This is not a simple static census, but a dynamic tool designed to provide a real-time snapshot
01:10of the thousands of inmates whose justice has been delayed or denied.
01:14This registry is not just a technical instrument, it is the essential basis for prison reform
01:19that prioritizes human dignity, strict legality, and effective social reintegration.
01:25It is, as the Attorney General emphasized, a fundamental step toward breaking the inertia of a system
01:31that has perpetuated injustice.
01:34Its success will depend on the sustainability of institutional commitment and the resources
01:39allocated, but its launch undoubtedly marks a necessary turning point.
