00:00A seventh Hungarou ring win. All the ingredients are there. Let's see how it unfolds.
00:06It's lights out and away we go. Verstappen this time around does get an excellent start in Hamilton too.
00:12Already on the tail of his teammate Valtteri Bottas. Bottas coming back at Verstappen.
00:16Three of breaths for the two Ferraris behind. Bottas looks up his brakes.
00:20Verstappen on the inside into the lead. Hamilton gets squeezed out a bit.
00:23Sebastian Vettel might lose out as well as he goes wheel to wheel with the McLaren and Carlos sites.
00:28Verstappen leads from Bottas who looks up again. Hamilton is trying around the outside of his teammate.
00:33And might squeeze through on the inside now into second place and he does.
00:38Verstappen will be cheering inside that car. The two Mercedes squabbling played beautifully into his hands.
00:44Down to fourth place. The front wing end plates has been dislodged I think on Valtteri Bottas' Mercedes.
00:50As through goes Sebastian Vettel down into turn one. You could see on the right hand side it was oscillating quite severely.
00:57Bottas up to a length of targeting six of this race as Lando Norris goes wheel to wheel with Kevin Magnussen around the outside of turn one.
01:05And he kept his foot in there. And Kevin Magnussen game.
01:09Albon actually does the right thing. Moves out of the way. Hamilton's just a bit too far behind.
01:14But if he can get a really good exit out of turn one then there is a chance here with Dion.
01:20Plus a lot of determination at the moment. He's got the upper hand again.
01:24But he lost a tenth during that first set sector did Lewis Hamilton. He has then lost a little bit more time.
01:32Another five tenths. Half a second in the middle sector.
01:35Went too wide here didn't he? Yeah.
01:36To get a gown in the throttle. So that's where it is.
01:39Throw him down into the last corner as well. And put Hamilton right on his tail. He should get DRS himself though. But this is a big moment.
01:47Look out Hamilton. This Hamilton as well. Getting a bit of a slipstream from the racing point. And that has helped out Max Verstappen.
01:54But Hamilton is now just a few car lengths behind. Is he close enough? Gaining now on Verstappen. He's gaining, he's gaining, he's gaining.
02:01He manages to get round Ricciardo. Goes a long way round turn one. Verstappen just about holds on. But now Hamilton is much closer.
02:09As they head towards turn two. Leader and second place. Almost wheel to wheel through that corner. Hamilton is trying absolutely everything.
02:17Verstappen is defending for his life. But he is still under threat. And this time Hamilton goes round the outside at turn four. Goes off the track in doing so. Verstappen keeps his place out in front.
02:30Hamilton knew he'd have to give that place back. So he eased out of it. And because Verstappen was so tough. Magnussen is Verstappen. He's got DRS. And Hamilton is that little bit too far behind.
02:42So the threat over for the topic. And Lewis got to clean those tires up now. You pick up all that discarded rubber. All the marbles on the outside there.
02:51Your very hot sticky tires. Picks up the cold marbles. The cooler marbles. And it takes a few corners if not longer.
02:59Two. It doesn't have to make it any easier than necessary I guess for his teammates.
03:05He is going to just stay where he is. About 1.4 seconds. So one and a half seconds behind Verstappen. Which he had for much of the first stint.
03:19And with carbon brakes.
03:21Sink point. Who started 16th with Sergio Perez. There he is. Ahead of Danny Kvyat and Alex Albon.
03:28And Valtteri Bottas is going to try and thread his way through that. And Valtteri Bottas getting past Alex Albon once again.
03:34There's a lot of dust in there.
03:3592.4 for Hamilton.
03:37So that's a second faster. And he's now down to an 18 second gap. Lewis Hamilton.
03:43Thank you very much indeed. Talking of old teammates. Here's Daniel Ricciardo once again. A great scrap with Kevin Magnussen. He locks up a little bit going into turn one.
03:53And had to apply the brakes a little bit sharper than he would have wanted there. Otherwise he was sailing straight into the rear wing of Magnussen's car.
04:00Did you do anything about that at the moment?
04:02Anthony Leberton at Sky Race Control.
04:04Yeah. Verstappen's running out of tyres guys. And Mercedes have been on the radio as well to Lewis.
04:09Saying that they predict that by the end of the race Max is going to be down to zero rubber.
04:13Do you remember of course Martin back in 1998 as we look at this battle again. It was almost rubber rubbing.
04:20Now to just over a second. Kimi Raikkonen solid in seventh. Pierre Gasly. Bang to the crowd. And a packed Budapest. Hamilton chases down the main straights.
04:29Pulls out to the right hand side. And makes his way round the long way. And into the lead. Hamilton passes Verstappen. Mercedes strategy has got it right.
04:42And then he has been. And that is huge disappointment for Max Verstappen. But Hamilton has driven a brilliant charging race. And he has put the pole sitter under pressure throughout.
04:54Only a bit up the road.
04:55There goes Fettel. Leclerc thought about defending aggressively. Fettel forces Leclerc a little bit wide there. And there was nothing wrong with that whatsoever. Sebastian Fettel surges past his teammate. And up into the podium places.
05:08And he. Oh that was pretty feisty wasn't it. And Seb having none of that from.
05:14Rounds the final corner now. For a magnificent seventh win at the Hungaro ring. It is victory for Lewis Hamilton. He wins the Hungarian Grand Prix. Max Verstappen started on pole. Gets the fastest lap. And probably a bigger cheer from the Orange Army. Here to roar him on. Whether that is disappointment or not. We'll only find out in a few moments.
05:40Simon Pagino the Indy 500 winners. James well done mate. That was an incredible drive. Really really impressive. You earned that.
05:47Thank you so much James. Bono. You guys. Thank you so much for this weekend. I know the last one was a difficult one. But really appreciate you continuing to push. And James sorry I doubted that strategy. That was a tour.
06:00Four unusual trophies that the Grand Prix winner will ever receive. The ornamental urn. For Lewis Hamilton. He still throws it up in the air. He catch that one.
06:11And he made it work. Lewis made it work. There's no doubt about that.
06:13They gave him a second opportunity. He took it. After. Strategy challenge. From his Ferrari pit bull. Managed to pick up the final podium. As well. In the cockpit. And champagne is much needed. For Max Verstappen. He would have wanted champagne as a race winner from pole for the first time. But it didn't go as well.
06:34It was Hamilton with the seventh win here. McLaren there and Carlos Sainz. Gentlemen do you want to say anything about anything about anything about being a minute behind. A lap behind the team there.
06:43And.
