00:49Exclusive. Friends on the beach. Struck down by a bolt of lightning.
00:54It's just all chaos and screaming. How they survived their near-death experience.
01:01Heat it up that much that it burned your neck. It burnt my neck. Plus, deadly dive. They jumped
01:08into the waterfall to cool off in the scorching weather. It cost them their lives. And outrage
01:16over the snatching of a beautiful swan. How horrifying was it to see that? It was traumatic.
01:21So, what happened to the swan? Then, birthday party death collapse. While they're singing
01:29happy birthday. The entire death just completely dropped. Plus, the new technology that brings
01:37the dearly departed back to life. So, why is Serena Williams' husband facing backlash over
01:43this moving image with his late mom? Taking a dead parent and reanimating them with AI is
01:49a little creepy. And, I didn't know that. Beach Edition. Sand on your blanket? No problem.
01:56This is genius. The best way to carry your stuff. All the hacks you need to know for your day
02:02at the beach. Now, Inside Edition. Hello. Thanks for joining us. I'm Mary Calvey.
02:08They were on vacation in Florida enjoying the beach when out of nowhere, a lightning storm
02:14moved in. So, they took cover under a tiki hut. But, that turned out to be a mistake. They
02:18were struck by a bolt of lightning. And, here they are today speaking with our Steve and Fabian
02:24about a day at the beach they will never forget. It's an astonishing moment. Video captures
02:32the instant a bolt of lightning hits a tiki hut on the beach. Beach goers race to the
02:37site of the lightning strike. The bolt injured four women who were seeking shelter under the
02:42hut from the storm. You can see one of the victims on the sand. And, she's barely conscious.
02:47Looks like someone has struck by lightning. How could anyone survive such an ordeal? Well,
02:54they did. And, here they are today. It was just all chaos and screaming. I was just out.
03:01Totally unconscious. It feels like you've been in a car wreck. Kentucky natives Kelly Bryant,
03:06Danielle Sturgill, and her sister Taylor were on vacation with a friend near Naples, Florida
03:10when it happened. This photo was taken earlier on the day of the storm. No hint of the drama
03:16went to come. Were there lightning strikes around you in that moment? No. No. Not that we remember
03:22anything. Amazingly, Kelly, Danielle, and Taylor suffered only minor injuries. But, Kelly is still
03:29hurting. There she is being helped up after the hit. My side hurts really bad. My legs hurt. She showed
03:36me a burn mark left by her necklace. So, it heated up that much that it burned your neck. It burnt my neck.
03:42Witness Lloyd Montgomery rushed to hell. There he is in the video. It was extremely scary because it
03:49looked like a lifeless body on the, just laying on the ground. WCBS-TV meteorologist John Elliott says the
03:54women made a mistake that lots of people would make in similar circumstances. They hid under the tiki
04:00hut. The better choice would have been the hotel. Get off the sand. A building will act as a, as protection. And,
04:08if it's a car, it's got to be a hardtop car. It's not the rubber tires that save you. It's the steel frame.
04:14And, if you can't find shelter, you definitely want to get down. And, if you can, sometimes a ditch is
04:19great. It just lowers you and gets you down. To mark their near-death experience, the women got matching
04:25lightning bolt tattoos. All in all, a vacation they'll never forget.
04:30They are so lucky. Every year here in the U.S., 20 deaths are caused by lightning strikes. A furious
04:39President Trump is lashing out over claims the airstrikes in Iran didn't damage those nuclear
04:44sites as badly as originally claimed. Today, Trump did his best to tell the world they were, in his words,
04:52obliterated. The President is furious over reports that the raids on Iran failed to destroy its nuclear
04:59weapons program. We blew it up. It's blown up to kingdom come. He vented at the American media at
05:06the end of the NATO summit in the Netherlands and revealed that he spoke to a B-2 pilot involved in
05:13the raid. They were maligned and treated very bad, demeaned by fake news CNN, which is back there,
05:19believe it or not, wasting time and wasting and nobody's watching them. He was scornful as he called
05:25on U.S. reporters. Oh, you're not a nice person, but I'll let you ask one. Go ahead. What's he going
05:30to ask? Oh, fake news CNN? Oh, yeah, yeah. Here we go. Wait till you hear this question. CNN responded live.
05:38He unfairly represented CNN's reporting, trying to claim that it was somehow disparaging members of
05:44the military who were involved in this operation, which is not true. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth
05:50stepped in to double down on the administration's claim that the raid was a big success. Iran's
05:57nuclear program is obliterated. Trump posted this parody video.
06:07Social media reaction is going both ways, crass and childish. Others see the humor. And who's your
06:15daddy? The secretary general of NATO is calling Trump daddy, referring to that F-bomb Trump dropped
06:22yesterday. We basically have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they
06:28don't know what they're doing. Daddy has to sometimes use strong language. Three hikers were taking in the
06:36great outdoors near Lake Tahoe when they came across popular waterfall. And since the country is locked
06:41under a heat dome, they couldn't resist taking a plunge. But that decision to cool off cost them
06:47their lives. This brave diver is on a recovery mission, trudging through rugged terrain as hail
06:53pours down. He even encounters lightning and thunder during the three-hour trek.
06:59Finally, Juan Harita arrives at Rattlesnake Falls. It's a breathtaking swimming hole where adventure
07:09seekers plunge into frigid water to cool down after hiking in summer's blazing heat. On Wednesday,
07:16three close friends who jumped into the waterfall tragically died. Two while trying to save the other
07:22from drowning. When a sudden storm forced law enforcement to call off the search for bodies,
07:27Juan stepped in. I'm going to dive in no matter what. There's Juan at the bottom of the cliff after
07:32jumping 50 feet. You can see only his fins as he descends under the rushing current. He's
07:38pre-diving 47 feet below with no oxygen tank. I pull all three out of the water and hold my breath
07:46and go down. Every time that I go down, I will grab one and bring it back. So that took me three minutes
07:52each. Lourdes Crayus lost her brother, 59-year-old Valentino, in the drownings. She says the friends
07:59were all strong swimmers who jumped into the swimming hole for decades. They heard my brother yell,
08:04help. She says first, Dr. Matt Schuenaker jumped in, followed by friend Dr. Matt Anthony. He jumped
08:10and then that age jumped as well. And they never resurfaced.
08:20Juan funds his dives through donations. Over the last year, he's recovered 12 bodies.
08:26It's a brazen theft caught on camera. And what was stolen is a beautiful and very large swan. Now
08:34there's a rush to find the big bird because she just had babies and daddy swan is calling out in
08:39despair. Amber Cogliano has details. There is outrage over the abduction of one of mother nature's
08:46most magnificent creatures, a swan. The suspect was caught running down the street with the giant swan
08:52tucked under his arm. Then he stuffs the bird into the back seat of the getaway car with his buddies.
08:59The four knuckleheads are cracking up as they take off. It was a little brutal. You can tell they had
09:05experience holding these birds. Stephanie Santiago witnessed the swan napping. One of them was
09:10actually looking out the window with a stupid smile on his face. And I told him, I was like,
09:15you're going to see me. Remember me because you're going to see me again. And when you see me,
09:19you won't be smiling. Swans are known for being territorial and making loud noises if a human gets
09:26too close. But the snatched swan is a species known as a mute swan. These swans are even quieter. So she
09:33didn't make a lot of noise when she was taken. To make this all the more upsetting, the swan had just
09:39given birth. And her lifelong mate has been calling out in distress, desperate for his long-lost love.
09:45Stephanie shared her video of the theft. And the Howard Beach community in Queens, New York,
09:50leapt into action. The community was enraged. These birds are a fixture in our community. They have
09:57families. They have babies. They reproduce. A resident spotted the suspects and called cops.
10:03They have apprehended the vehicle that was used and involved with the swan abduction and the vehicle
10:09of the occupants. Unfortunately, we have no swan with them. We've seen swan nappings before. In 2021,
10:16this guy was charged with grand theft for stealing baby swans from their parents in Orlando. Watch as
10:23he pushes the parents out of the way to put the little ones in a red cooler. So what happened to the
10:30abducted swan from Queens? Unfortunately, it's a mystery. We don't know if we'll ever see that bird again.
10:37Police are investigating if the swan was stolen as part of a senior prank or to be put in someone's
10:42private pond. It's a Spider-Man themed birthday party for a three-year-old right in the middle
10:50singing happy birthday. The deck underneath the family collapsed.
10:54Happy birthday to you.
10:58It's a terrifying moment during this three-year-old's birthday party.
11:02Hillary and Tony Lofredo were celebrating their son Luca's birthday with a Spider-Man themed cake.
11:08He was so excited for his cake all morning. He asked if I was done baking his cake, his blue cake
11:13with his red sprinkles for Spider-Man. But as the Des Moines family and 20 of their friends cheer the
11:18birthday boy, the unthinkable happens. Right in the middle of happy birthday, the entire
11:27death just completely dropped. The previous homeowners hired a local contractor in 2019 to build the deck with
11:36the new roof over it. And from what I've been told, some corners were cut.
11:41Deck collapses are rare, but they do happen, like this high school prom photo shoot.
11:49And this balcony debacle in Malibu.
11:54Chaos broke out at this frat party in Missouri when the deck gave way.
12:00As for the latest deck collapse, Mom Hillary says fortunately,
12:03everyone got out okay except for a few minor scrapes.
12:08Thankfully, the worst of the injuries was my husband who needed stitches on his leg.
12:15If you have a deck, experts say you should have it checked every year to make sure it is structurally
12:21sound. He is the husband of tennis superstar Serena Williams and he also created Reddit.
12:26Now he's finding himself in the headlines after he used AI to bring an old photo hugging his late
12:33mother back to life. But as Les Trent reports, it's dividing the internet.
12:38Tennis legend Serena Williams' billionaire husband is taking heat today for posting this sweet video
12:44of him and his mom hugging. Alexis Ohaney, the co-founder of the social media platform Reddit,
12:51used AI to bring his favorite still photo from his childhood to life. He was blown away.
12:58Damn, I wasn't ready for how this would feel, he writes. Wow, this is how she hugs me. Most reactions to
13:05the AI generated video were positive. This is one of the most magical uses of AI. This is wonderful. But
13:13others aren't feeling the love. You're being duped. This is incredibly disturbing. AI technology can
13:20magically bring treasured family photos to life. Apps like MyHeritage's Live Memory can take your old
13:27photo and voila, turn it into a video. That's me as a baby with my sister and late parents. My mother was
13:36very shy and she used to look down when she smiled. Just like that. That is wild. But tech experts are
13:43wary. What are your thoughts on it? Well, I mean, for me personally, taking a dead parent and reanimating
13:51them with AI is a little creepy, for me personally. But if it gives him some solace, makes him feel better,
13:57makes him reconnect with his mother in some way, I'm all for it. Ohaneyan, whose mom died 20 years ago,
14:03is defending the technology today. We didn't have a camcorder, so there's no video of me with my mom.
14:10AI is not a replacement for a loved one, nor should it be. More than 75% of photographers say they use
14:18AI technology to enhance their photos. We'll be back with much more Inside Edition after this.
14:25Next, was she inappropriately dressed for Disney World? She says she was told she had to cover up
14:31this outfit. Not appropriate for a family-friendly park. I don't see how. And I didn't know that
14:38Beach Edition. Sand on your blanket? No problem. This is genius. The best way to carry your stuff.

17:31Exclusive Sherry Papini, the so-called perfect mom who served time for faking her own kidnapping.
17:37There are injuries that I couldn't possibly do to myself. Who she claims was really behind it.
17:41Next Inside Edition.
17:45She was super excited to visit Disney World with her husband. Then she says she was reprimanded for
17:50being improperly dressed. Now she tells Allison Hall she never thought leggings and a sports bra would
17:56be deemed not family friendly. You can't wear that to Disney World. That's what Nicole Arena says she
18:03was told during her recent trip to the happiest place on earth. So what did she wear? Leggings and a
18:10sports bra. Did you think anything about your outfit when you were getting there? I wear this all the time.
18:15Nicole says she and her husband John were waiting in line at Epcot Center for the popular
18:20frozen ride when she was approached by a Disney staffer who informed her she was improperly dressed.
18:26We got up to the front of the ride as soon as they were about to let us on. The girl stopped me and
18:32was like you can't get on like that. She was told to buy a $45 tank top to cover up or she wouldn't be
18:38allowed to go on the ride they had been waiting an hour for. Her husband who was wearing this low-cut tank
18:44top says he was furious. And this is what you were wearing? Exactly what I was wearing which is much
18:50less than my wife. Yeah some people would argue that you are showing more skin than she was. Absolutely
18:57yes. Nicole who lives on Staten Island New York says people on both sides are weighing in after she
19:03posted the photos. It's a sports bra as in brassiere. Obviously not allowed in public. There is nothing wrong with
19:11your shirt goes another. There are people on my TikTok saying that it was not appropriate for a
19:16family-friendly park. I don't see how. Disney World did not return our request for comment but
19:22their website states they have the right to deny admission to anyone wearing clothing exposing too
19:27much skin that may be inappropriate for a family environment. Still to come, I didn't know that
19:35beach edition. Sand on your blanket? No problem. This is genius. The best way to carry your stuff.
19:43All the hacks you need to know for your day at the beach.
19:51Things were already so difficult for my mom when she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's.
19:55Then she developed agitation that may happen with dementia due to Alzheimer's disease.
20:00She started verbally lashing out, breaking things, wondering at night. These symptoms
20:07were a different kind of difficult so we asked her doctor for more help. Rick Salty is the only FDA
20:13approved medication proven to reduce symptoms of agitation that may happen with dementia due to
20:18Alzheimer's disease. Elderly people with dementia-related psychosis have increased risk of death or stroke.
20:24Report fever, stiff muscles and confusion which can be life-threatening,
20:28or uncontrolled muscle movements which may be permanent. High blood sugar can lead to coma or death,
20:32weight gain, increased cholesterol, unusual urges, dizziness on standing, falls, seizures,
20:38trouble swallowing, or sleepiness may occur. I'm glad I asked for help. Ask your loved one's doctor today
20:46about Rick Salty. Moments matter. Maybe you think you made a mistake and now it's too late. Maybe you think
20:54the insurance company talked you out of taking the next step. Maybe you think it's too late to hire a
20:59lawyer. Before you give up, I think you should call us. If you were hurt in an accident in Pennsylvania,

22:35Now the latest in our series where we share helpful tips to make life a little easier. Get ready for
22:42I Didn't Know That Beach Edition. It's beach weather, and we've got some great beach hacks that will have
22:49you saying, I didn't know that. We all dread dragging all our stuff to that perfect spot on the beach.
22:56Well, try this. Just pile everything on top of, of all things, a snow sled? It's almost like you're
23:03pulling it on snow. Oh wow, that is so easy. It just sleds right along. We all want a surefire way to
23:10keep our space sand free. Lifestyle expert Sarah Funk says all you need is a fitted sheet. So you're going to
23:17grab each corner, make sure it's right side up, and place it down, and then you're going to take
23:22these. These are frozen water jugs. Ooh. Yes. We're going to put them in each corner. It creates
23:30this environment that the sand can't blow in, which makes it really easy to enjoy the beach without
23:36having sand all over the place on your blanket. That's genius. A fitted sheet on the beach. I really
23:41did not know that. These frozen gallons of water serve another purpose. Plus, as your water unfreezes,
23:48you have super chilled, cool water to enjoy on a hot day on the beach. It is perfection. It's also
23:54important where you set up camp on the beach. Over by the beach entrance, the thermometer told us it was
24:00over 100 degrees. But down here by the water, about 85. That is a huge difference and is going to keep
24:07you a lot cooler when you spend your day on the beach. We've all seen video of beach umbrellas flying
24:13away in high winds. They can be very dangerous. This hack could help. A great way to keep your
24:19umbrella secure is to mix seawater and sand to make a mock cement. Okay, like this? Yeah, just pour it
24:26right in there. And now we're actually creating a type of cement and this will not go anywhere. Wow.
24:35All great ideas were a perfect, I didn't know that, day at the beach. Still to come, it's not just
24:43humans who need to cool off in this heat wave. An important message for Americans ages 50 to 85.
24:51That's how it ended. I remember that. You talked her into it. I did. Now we all have life insurance.
25:00Well, I had no choice. She really didn't. Because I told her that if she didn't get it,
25:06we were going to put you in charge of her funeral. And I know how you hate to spend money.
25:13I bought life insurance, didn't I? It costs pennies a day.
25:16And that's just one reason I like Colonial Penn. What's another? Unlike my sisters,
25:23they don't ask about my health. That's right. Colonial Penn doesn't ask a single medical question.
25:28And there's no physical exam. If you're over 50, you can't be turned down for guaranteed
25:33acceptance whole life insurance, no matter what your health. You can apply in minutes just by
25:37filling out a simple form. Options start at $9.95 a month, 35 cents a day. And the good news is,
25:46your rate will never change. A built-in rate lock guarantees it. But finally, something we can all
