00:00Trump revealed the U.S. will be holding talks with Iran next week.
00:05Are we likely to see these discussions happen after the Supreme Leader said they would never surrender,
00:12repeating that message again?
00:14And also after his comments today, would the U.S. still be keen to hold these talks?
00:20Again, the Iranian leaders have to make a lot of statements right now for domestic political purposes.
00:25Their leash on power is rather weak.
00:27They've had over 30 generals killed by Israel.
00:31They've had a number of the regime security apparatus headquarters destroyed.
00:36And so they are trying to project strength.
00:38But at the same time, they're going to say other things in private.
00:43The Iranian leadership has a decision to make right now.
00:45They double down on the nuclear program and divert spending resources and strategic capital on that program.
00:55Or do they choose to advance their foreign policy by proxies, by terrorism and sort of more conventional forces?
01:02That's a strategic question, which I don't think the answer is clear right now.
01:06And the United States is going to want Iran to give up that nuclear program.
01:10And if they don't, Israel is going to be free to come back and destroy Iran's nuclear program time and time and time again.
